Thank god for that, I use loads of quark, with tuna, in jacket potatoes, creamy mushrooms, pasta sauce.... I think I single handedly decimate the quark shelves in Sainsburys. Grin
I have to buy it from there as it's the only one that comes with a plastic lid, why do other places sell it with only the foil lid?

froubylou · 08/07/2016 12:48

Hello all

I wouldn't necessarily syn a tweak if it was something that was part of a meal and I was definitely having 1/3 speed with it. Something like scotch eggs as a snack I would though. Because it would be easy to over eat them cos I am greedy lol.

B. Coffee
L. Bowl of pasta left over from last night. It's all free or speed but feels really norty to eat.
T. Curry night so flexible syns!

Lifeisontheup2 · 08/07/2016 13:00

DH has suggested going out for lunch, I've looked at the menu on line- do you think this would be a good choice?

'Brown rice and quinoa salad, heritage baby carrots, breakfast radishes, lemon dressing and omega seeds'
Haven't had HEB yet today so could probably take the seeds as that and have had tomatoes and eggs for breakfast fried in frylite so no syns yet.

Do you think I can risk a pudding or would it be better to have a glass of prosecco, I love impromptu lunches but it's a minefield knowing what to choose.
Probably won't eat anything else today.

ALemonyPea · 08/07/2016 13:06

I'm more of a pudding person. What's the pudding menu?

Lifeisontheup2 · 08/07/2016 13:08

Carrot cake and orange cheesecake with Devonshire toffee sauce
Lemon and wild blueberry ricotta cheesecake with British strawberry compote
Sticky toffee pudding with vanilla bean ice cream
Chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream
Mandarin & orange liquor Belgian chocolate torte
Salted caramel profiteroles, salted caramel ice cream and Devonshire toffee sauce

All lovely but......

OrianaBanana · 08/07/2016 13:10

Personally (pregnant person here!) I would go for the prosecco as it will almost certainly be lower in syns and easier to estimate syns wise. Smile

Lifeisontheup2 · 08/07/2016 13:13

Saving grace is I'm working 10am-8pm over the weekend, then on nights Monday and Tuesday so not much chance to go mad for the next few days. Fruit, salad and yogurts will be the order of the day.

Lifeisontheup2 · 08/07/2016 13:16

Might go for a gin and slimline tonic instead as fewer syns, choices choices, Grin

ALemonyPea · 08/07/2016 14:15

Yikes! Id go for the alcohol then, far too many syns in those ours, but they do sound lovely.

Comeonmommy · 08/07/2016 14:45

I would love the brownies followed by profiteroles please.....

pippinandtog · 08/07/2016 16:22

When I go out for a meal, I just have whatever I want off the menu, with no syn-counting.
Then make sure I keep to the plan for the rest of the week: it's only one meal out of twenty one.

Lifeisontheup2 · 08/07/2016 16:36

Well that was disappointing, having chosen the salad I get there to find that is the only thing not on the menu. Put on the spot I chose fish and chips, the fish was over cooked and the batter was hard so I didn't eat most of it. Did eat the chips which were chunky and not overly greasy but still don't know how many syns to count for that. Had 2 Gin and slim lines which I make 5 syns.
Just cross that my treat lunch out with DH was unsatisfying and a bit of a waste, both of money and syns, apart from the gin which was lovely. Smile

emwithme · 08/07/2016 21:52

Well I'm packed for my holibobs. I just need to get my hand luggage sorted, shave my legs, then I'm ready to go. I don't actually fly until Sunday but I fly from the airport near "home" (ie where I grew up) rather than where I live now, so I'm doing some family visiting tomorrow.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Breakfast muffins
Lunch: Ham salad, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: ALL THE CURRY. Poppadoms, onion bhajis, chicken chatt (to start) then mushroom rice, butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, bombay potatoes, mushroom bhaji and a garlic naan. I am about to explode.

I weighed myself before dinner (not because I was having dinner, because I needed to weigh the suitcase Grin ) and then after and I am 1.8 kg heavier Blush

DH also informed me that I have lost the weight of the suitcase I'm taking on holiday Shock I can only just bloody lift the thing, so to imagine I was carrying it around with me all day, every day is just mind-blowing.

Comeonmommy · 09/07/2016 13:10

Pls help SadSad there is an Aero staring at me......

I'm in one of those moods when I can't work out what I want to eat!! I skipped breakfast cos I wasn't hungry but had planned ahead and put a jacket potato in the oven and had if with some salad and a bit of salmon - didn't like it Sad. Have tried done strawberries and a yoghurt but didn't fancy those either. Now, there is an Aero staring at me and I'm pretty sure I will like that........

ALemonyPea · 09/07/2016 13:26

Step away from the Aero. How big is it! Could you have half and bin the other half?

I hate weekends when I have everyone home and have to make food for them, too tempting. Dreading the summer holidays.

B: 3 slices crustless wholemeal (HEB), beans, bacon, mushrooms
D: mini quiches, salad
T: roast chicken, jacket potato with hea cheese, salad

Unsure what to spend syns on, maybe some chocolate

froubylou · 09/07/2016 18:51

I had a bloody chip shop fish earlier and a handful of chips with mushy peas. Ffs.

But I was starving and felt a bit funny and I have bathed a filthy white pony to a daz white pony this afternoon so hopefully have burnt a few calories off.

And I am not really hungry now. So will probably just pick for tea. Hopefully some speed food. But am not convinced I have any non manky salad in.

I think there is a veggie chilli in freezer though. Might have to ding that.

And we are out all day tomorrow so it's picnic food. There is usually a catering so hopefully they will have a jacket potato for me!

ALemonyPea · 09/07/2016 19:38

I bet it was bloody lovely though Frouby. If you pick the batter off the fish, it's free. I usually get fish and mushy peas if we get Chippy tea, which is much better than what I used to get, fish, chips, curry sauce and possible a bread bun as well.

Been to my sisters for tea, she made a nice effort for me, chicken, jacket potato and asparagus. Was lovely.

froubylou · 09/07/2016 20:04

I did try and pick the batter off Lemony. But as fast as I picked it off I ate it. It was a really light crispy batter too. And it was just literally a handful of chips.

But I really really enjoyed it. So a line has been drawn and I am moving on.

Still don't know what to eat tonight. I really CBA with anything but am out of the house at about 6am and will be running around until 9.30/10am before I get chance to have anything so really ought to have something now.

pippinandtog · 09/07/2016 20:39

Whenever my consultant mentions in class that you can have fish and mushy peas from the chippy, and it's free if you take the batter off the fish, there are great snorts of derisory laughter all around the room.

tabulahrasa · 09/07/2016 20:46

Lol, I don't even like fish that much, it's just something to hold batter together...

Lifeisontheup2 · 10/07/2016 09:43

I had turkey and ham pie that DH made last night.Blush I did have a much smaller bit of pastry than I would have done and the sauce had loads of veg in it and no cream so I'm just going to go for 15 Syns and move on. All I had for the rest of the day was SW pea and mint soup, 2 hard boiled eggs and 2 apples.

nomoreheroes · 10/07/2016 10:49

Oh I miss pies...bet it was lovely.Smile

Not doing too badly here this weekend. Always go over my syns on Fri and Sat anyway but not as much as usual. Made jerk chicken from this month's magazine and it was delicious. Have some lovely salmon fillets for today and also bought a bulb of fennel which I've never cooked before. In fact I haven't decided if I will cook it with the salmon or have it raw in a salad. Anyone got any experience of it?

Other than that am aiming for an SP day.

B: Porridge and milk (HexA and hexB)
Apple, berries, quark.
L: Pea, spinach and mint soup
D: Salmon, salad/veg.

Have a lovely day everyone. Hope the sun is shining where you are, it's miserable here Sad

ALemonyPea · 10/07/2016 14:53

I love pies. People at my group make them with Old El Paso stand and stuff wraps, M & S stewed steak and top with potato. Not the same though is it.

I've got (I think) raging PMT. Just want to eat sweet stuff and I have the rage. So far have just stayed within my syns

B: nothing
D: eggy bread, bacon, mushrooms, melon yoghurt
T: savoury mince, dumplings (8 syns), veg veg and more veg

froubylou · 10/07/2016 16:22

Hello all

Am bloody knackered. Been up since 5am and out the door at 6am. Pony showing all day. Still got car to empty and all the shit to sort out. Ds (2.7) looked adorable in his gear though!

I have had a ham sandwich all day. On wholemeal and just a small roll so should be ok for heb. Didn't have breakfast either.

Supposed to be sausages (heck), mash, veg and onion gravy for tea but the rest of them are talking about some kind of takeaway. Which I might go for as I am knackered!

The amount of exercise I have done would probably equal at least 1 if not 2 takeaway lol. So I will just have a couple of sp days to make up for it.

WingDefence · 10/07/2016 17:17

Go for it frouby!

I've been on plan the past couple of days but not tracked syns so fingers crossed I'm okay for WI tomorrow morning...

I see in the new SW mag there's a £100 off code for Tefal actifrys. Have any of you got one and if so, would you recommend it and which one?!
And what do you cook in them apart from chips? Cheers x
