Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

Welcome newbies.

Peachy, I'm not sure if your portions are too big or not, do you have any photos?

I constantly feel full. I'm usually an all day snacker, but haven't felt the need to do that. In fact, I have to force myself to eat at times.

emwithme · 23/04/2016 21:01

Hello newbies!

I made carbonara tonight (we had it last week following the recipe from January's magazine properly but it was NASTY so I tweaked it this week) and it was bloody gorgeous, and so simple to make.

Chopped up bacon and fried with sliced onion and garlic. Cooked mushrooms separately because DH doesn't like them, and I quite like him at the moment, otherwise they'd've gone in too and he would've had to pick them out. Stirred in 2/3 pot quark. Added cooked pasta (drained but not shaken well so had a bit of water on it too) and stirred. Served DH's portion then added mushrooms, stirred again, and served mine.

Was delicious.

I really wanted some crisps & dip. So I made myself this instead. Not quite the same, but weirdly tasty!

Exploding muffins for breakfast: used 3 eggs, two big spoonfuls of quark and half a bag of frozen berries. That filled six muffin cases but the frozen fruit made it hard to judge amounts, hence a slight overflow problem.

Were lovely though.

emwithme · 24/04/2016 10:43

Good morning all! It's a beautifully sunny day here at the seaside. May see if DH wants to go for a walk along the beach this afternoon if the weather holds, but for now I'm on the settee catching up with Grey's Anatomy.

I've also got to do some prep for the next couple of days - chopping all the bits (peppers, radish, celery, cucumber) for lunchtime salads and making some breakfast muffins is on the list. I may also make a lemon drizzle cake if I feel like it.

Today's food:
Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato.
Dinner: Roast beef, yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, carrot, cabbage. Proper gravy
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

ALemonyPea · 24/04/2016 11:16

Morning everyone. Bit of a late start for me today, had a rare lie in.

B: turkey bacon, beans, eggs, mushrooms and a pear
D: cottage cheese salad
T: chicken casserole, mash, veg. Will use hexa for mash

Unsure about hexb, maybe an Alpen bar.

Sixpencenonethericher · 24/04/2016 11:27

Morning everyone I lost 2 pound on Friday so that's a stone in 5 weeks x

KittyOShea · 24/04/2016 11:32

That's fantastic sixpence Grin

Thanks kitty

Geepee71 · 24/04/2016 14:20

Hello everyone,
I've been referred by my doctors and go to first class on Wednesday, excited and nervous at the same time.
I'm veggie so hope there's enough filling foods.
Loving the support on this thread and in the SW thread generally

emwithme · 24/04/2016 16:04

Well done sixpence (and thanks for the earworm...I bloody love Kiss Me)

Welcome Geepee ... we're a friendly bunch here, but have a big stick for those times when you need a bit of a poke Grin

trinitybleu · 24/04/2016 17:48

Love the sound of exploding muffins ... how do you make them?

EmilyK83 · 24/04/2016 18:18

Well done Sixpence!!

No breakfast for me today, rest of the day (lunch at my dad's and dinner after a 3.5 hour car journey home) look as follows:

L - celery, tomatoes, lettuce, carrot, chicken, ham, smoked salmon - then 1 syn for padron peppers cooked in oil and 2.5 syns for smoked hummus.

Skinny latte at the service station as my HexA

D - spaghetti bolognese

Alpen Lights as HexB after dinner tonight...

A whole weekend of not weighing myself to see if I'm still on track. Not used to it...

Buttwing · 24/04/2016 18:29

Gah the Lebanese food begged me to eat it even the bread and pastry things. I also followed it with a slice of dd's birthday cake. There is no hope for me!! I'm hoping that being good for the last few days may save me but I'm thinking I may have to graciously accept a gain. At least I didn't drink too!Grin

froubylou · 24/04/2016 20:17

Didn't mean to actually start until tomorrow but it got to 3pm and I hadn't eaten so thought I might as well start today. Might be slightly out on my syns as I don't have the app yet.

HeA. Milk in coffee

Tea. Massive plate of salad, with some cooled pasta stirred through, a piece of salmon and a slice of ham. Allowed 3 syns for the salad dressing as I only had a normal not fat free one in. I also had a chicken tikka skewer thing which I imagine would be 2 syns maybe?

Then I have a g and slim (4 syns). So 9 syns so far.

Might have a yogurt before bed. And haven't had my b choice yet.

I don't like muller lights so need to look for an alternative.

ALemonyPea · 24/04/2016 21:04

I don't like muller lights either. I'm not really a yoghurt fan at all TBH, but I've found having vanilla 0% fat aptimel yogurt over fruit is quite nice.

ALemonyPea · 24/04/2016 21:24

I meant Activia yoghurt, not aptimel Confused

EmilyK83 · 24/04/2016 22:48

Butt - it's one meal of 21 - you can still pull it back!

HelenF35 · 25/04/2016 07:13

ALemonyPea · 25/04/2016 08:09

Well done Helen.

I'm at a christening on Sunday. Will have to be very careful what I pick. Hopefully will be some SW friendly stuff, pretty sure my friend is doing SW as well so will have something.

obrigada · 25/04/2016 09:22

Morning, the weekend was a bit of a write off for me but am back on track today - have my weigh in tomorrow evening and just need a half pound off to get my first 7lb award, feel like a beached whale today so reckon it will be nothing short of a miracle if I do lose even that half pound !
