Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

Brilliant, thanks Buttwing! Really appreciate it - so excited about having these for lunch tomorrow!

Well done Huckleberry!!

Today's going to be a challenge. Off out for breakfast with dp and my mum this morning, then we'll be out at lunchtime (going to football this afternoon) and I think the stuff she's got in for dinner has syns, although I haven't checked how many yet...hate days where I have so little choice about whether to stick to plan or not!

So...

B - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast (breakfast out - not sure how many syns to count)

L - not sure. May just take Alpen Lights and some snacky stuff to avoid temptation)

D - peri peri chicken, rice and roasted veg. Will have a look in the fridge and work out syns before I eat it...

Buttwing · 23/04/2016 09:33

Kitty would you not use a yogurt with syns in? Muller Greek are half a syn? Or maybe you meant non flavoured? In which case could you use a small amount of full fat and syn it?

KittyOShea · 23/04/2016 10:06

I'd love to do that butt but my consultant said I can't for some reason.

At any rate it's too late now. Just had my porridge with 0% activia peach and it was delicious Grin

So today's non SP menu is
B- porridge, yoghurt, cinnamon, raspberries and half a grapefruit
L- leftover pea and ham soup from yesterday, fruit
D- chicken stuffed with bacon, spinach and quark with spuds and veg

Syns planned- 1 sugar 6 hi fi 5 slice of toast with butter

Had a terrible night last night. Drank almost a whole bottle of red wine and ate a tonne of crisps and some veggie pakora. Hope this doesn't undo my hard work the rest of the week! Sad

Plan for today is
Breakfast
Turkey bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms free

Lunch
Baked potato with tuna and fat free natural yoghurt free

Dinner
Harissa chicken with pine nuts (he) peppers and red onion toppers with feta (he) and cous cous 2 syns

Rupeomatic · 23/04/2016 11:37

Morning all. 1lb off today, so half a stone in 3 weeks. It's probably a bit slower than it could have been, because I am definitely being kind to myself and enjoying some chocolate every day Grin

I don't post much, but reading your updates every day is really helping me to stay motivated - so thanks all Flowers

HuckleberryGin · 23/04/2016 13:00

How do you make porridge with yoghurt? I've tried overnight oats and wasn't keen, but wonder if I could make it fresh with yoghurt.

ALemonyPea · 23/04/2016 13:07

Afternoon.

Gin, well done on the loss.

Helen, move on from last night, forget it happened and crack on with the rest of the week. When is your WI day?

Having a busy rush around dat today, and should have meal planned better, but making hate best of it and cracking on.

Anyway, cracking on myself
B: ham with pease pudding wrapped up in the middle, cherry 0% activia, pear
D: chow mein deli box, 2 boiled eggs, sliced carrots, gherkins, beetroot and a little reduced fat salad cream
T: pork chops, mushroom sauce (philli light, mew mushrooms, mustard powder), sweet potato fries/mash, corn on the cob, salad

KittyOShea · 23/04/2016 13:25

Huckleberry I use microwaveable oats. I microwave 35g with a little milk but mostly water (I like to save as much hexa milk as possible for tea). Just enough liquid to cover the top of the oats. Microwave for 2 mins. Then add a full 0% yoghurt to creamy it up a bit, a good shake of cinnamon powder and defrosted frozen raspberries- the juice from these adds even more flavour.

I had my first weigh-in this morning and lost 6.5lb! Really happy although it's never week 1 of a diet that's my problem, it's all the weeks that follow! Forced myself to stay for the meeting although it was out of my comfort zone. Do you all stay or do you weigh and go?

KittyOShea · 23/04/2016 13:50

Fantastic mam!

I stay to meetings and am on the social team so sometimes do the shop and sometimes do the weigh in. Although the meeting can be long at times I've got some great recipe ideas. It helps that our consultant is very supportive and he can be a good laugh at times.

thanks for all replies and useful tips

VodkaIceAndLemon · 23/04/2016 14:34

We've just had a Toby carvery for dinner. I'm hoping I wasn't too bad, no Yorkshire, had turkey, and loads of cabbage, peas, leeks and cauliflower cheese. Two tiny roast potatoes, which weren't great actually, so was a bit disappointed with them.

Homemade soup for tea, with sandwiches. I shall have one bread bun, open on a plate, with ham and salad thrown over it. Really fancy a hard boiled egg too, must go put some on to boil.

I find weekends a bit trickier, too much distraction and temptation Sad

ALemonyPea · 23/04/2016 14:35

Well done mam. Half stone award for you next week.

I've only just started as well, I'm in week 2. I stop for meetings, but can't see myself doing it all the time. The team leader, although lovely, is a bit too enthusiastic for me for first thing in the morning.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 23/04/2016 14:50

Well done losers! Mam, that is amazing.

Today has been:
B- mushrooms, spinach and a Quorn ham omelette
L - Baked sweet potatoes with HEA cheese and tomatoes. Mixed berries with yoghurt
D - will be stir-fried fish and veg with noodles.

Syns - wine. And possibly a fudge. HEB - Special K bar.

I need to have a big cooking session tomorrow so that I have some lunches in the freezer. Found light Mozzarella in Lidl so may do a pasta bake with that. Also bought some of the SW tikka masala sauce in Iceland so planning on a Quorn curry.

HelenF35 · 23/04/2016 15:21

Lemony weigh in is Monday. We are out again tonight but I'm driving so should be more restrained. Those pork chops sound lovely, I may try that next week. Smile

emwithme · 23/04/2016 15:56

Oh god I'm not going to lose weight this week. I had a "we missed you" card the other day, and have just picked it up from the post office. It is chocolate coated matzo from my friend in Israel. Works out about 15 syns per matzo. And they're BLOODY DELICIOUS.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato.
Snack: Chocolate coated matzo (10 syns), apple, satsumas (to make me feel better about the matzo syns!)
Dinner: Spaghetti Carbonara
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

hi there - can I join please? joined SW last Weds but am really struggling this week :(

ChessieFL · 23/04/2016 17:15

0.5 lb off this morning, 1 lb to target!

ALemonyPea · 23/04/2016 17:41

Well done Chessie.

Tea was lovely, highly recommend doing the philli mustard sauce. Could have done with a tiny splash of milk to make it a bit more runnier, but would be nice used to stuff mushrooms or even chicken breasts.

KittyOShea · 23/04/2016 17:59

Sounds delicious lemony.

My dinner pla has changed due to lack of spuds and can't be bothered going shopping now having chicken and leek risotto.

Welcome MAB and nice one chessy Grin

Ohmiigod · 23/04/2016 18:08

Hope everyone's had a good day!

peachypips · 23/04/2016 19:25

Hello everyone. Can I join in? I started SW a couple of weeks ago. I lost 1 pound the first week, 2 pounds the second week and 1.5 pounds yesterday.

I am really enjoying the plan but I am worried it is not coming off more quickly. I am eating A LOT though so maybe my body needs to settle into eating more after ages of not eating enough.

B: 17.5g of oats, 1 hifi bar (hexb), skyr plain yoghurt, raspberries and strawberries.
L: pulled pork, SW chips, lots of broccoli
Snks: grapes, tomatoes, piece of ham
Dinner: paprika pork with extra veg and rice
Syns: ice cream 8 hifi 6.

Is this too much?! They were big portions!

calzone · 23/04/2016 20:06

Welcome newbies.

B.....overnight oats

L....bacon, eggs, mushrooms and beans

D.....fabulous chicken dish with cauliflower rice and broccoli

Pan fry chicken breasts and place in dish with raw cherry tomatoes, red onions, garlic and fresh herbs. Season. Roast in oven until chicken is cooked. Remove chicken and add quark for a creamy sauce. Completely awesome.

Angela30z · 23/04/2016 20:12

Hi there, stated SW this Thursday would like to goin this tread as I don't know anyone at the group yet so looking for online support, been reading though your losses, well done. I can't wait to start losing too xx

EmilyK83 · 23/04/2016 20:15

Well done Rupeo, Mam and Chessie - and hi newbies!

So...today. Went out for brunch with dp and my mum, and had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Managed to swap the toast for steamed spinach too! I have no idea how many syns to count for the butter and milk in the scrambled eggs though...any ideas?

L - didn't really have any. Had a satsuma at the football (breakfast was brunch, really) then a skinny latte (HexA), plus an Alpen Light (1/2 HexB) and another satsuma on the train home.

D - Waitrose peri peri chicken (3.5) with rice and roasted veg (no oil)

Will have my other Alpen Light this evening, plus probably one of the frozen yoghurt lollies my mum has in her freezer (3) and maybe a little bit of chocolate. Will probably go over syns, but I only had 4.5 yesterday so not going to feel too guilty...
