Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

Thanks EmilyK83 - that is the recipe I had seen so will try that for tea one night this week. It does look lovely but the couscous thing does seem a bit strange!

EmilyK83 · 28/05/2016 08:29

It is strange, thelion, but it really works - dp actually prefers it to KFC, and he was a big KFC fan before! We've used the idea for sweet and sour chicken balls as well (with different seasonings), using the sweet and sour sauce recipe from the SW website...

Going to try another SP day today. I have 4lb to go until my 3.5 stone award, and 6lb to go till my holiday target...5 weigh ins left before we fly out, so fingers crossed!

Today will look like this....

B - sweetened quark and fruit with first HexB of pistachios

L - ham and asparagus quiche that I made yesterday with salad

D - chicken with creamy mushroom sauce (2.5) and plenty of speed veg

2 Cheestrings for HexA, dried apricots for my second HexB. Finished yesterday on 14 syns - not sure what I'll do today yet...

milly62 · 28/05/2016 11:47

Hi I've just started SW on Wednesday 25th May - so far so good, but I'm wondering how on earth you can lose all this weight with the amount of food you can eat. Really looking forward to my first weigh in next Wednesday - any other new starters and what do you think about it all?

emwithme · 28/05/2016 11:50

The in-laws arrive in about six hours. The bathrooms have been cleaned and DH is under strict instructions not to poo again Grin

I am about to go and do the food shopping so I'm not underfoot when he mops the kitchen floor (which takes him about 4 x longer than it does me, but ho hum)

My bloody laptop needs to go off to be mended too, so I'll be trying to get the app to work later so I can still MN while the outlaws are here. The shop say it should be about 4 - 5 days until my lappy is back with me.

Having an Old Skool Green Day today.

Brunch: Omelette, mushrooms, cherry vine tomatoes.

Dinner: Macaroni cheese, salad (with pork chops for those who want them and garlic bread for MIL to tut at DH and FIL)
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

ChessieFL · 28/05/2016 13:02

Weigh in today, maintained and still in target. Only just though so need to be careful over half term. I'm off work and planning days out, must get organised and make suitable picnic food!

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2016 13:44

Welcome Milly. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount I lost the first few weeks, and was also amazed how easy and well this diet works. It's more a lifestyle change than a diet really, as you have so much choice with the odd cheat in.

I'm starving, haven't had time to eat yet, money had two hifi bars on the go.

B: 2 hifi bar (HEB)
D: quiche (added cheese for HEA)
T: chilli with SW wedges, lettuce, sour cream (3 syns) and maybe some cheese but not sure.

Buttwing · 28/05/2016 14:15

Hi millySmile I found it difficult to understand how it worked when I first started long long ago too but just enjoy the results!!

B-fruit and yogurt
L- chicken and bacon salad with quinoa and edamame beans-was really good
D- gammon,egg, chips and peas

froubylou · 28/05/2016 15:14

Afternoon all

B. Coffee
L. Hm veg soup
T. Bbq. Dp has done the shopping. I have requested lean stuff but don't know what is in there. Will have loads of salad with it.

Syns g and t, heb hifi. HeA milk in coffee

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2016 18:41

Frouby, for future, Tesco have a chilled barbecue selection which is either very low syn or free. The Chicken tikka steaks and pork kebabs are free, chicken tikka kebabs are 0.5 syns for 2. There is loads, can't remember them off the top of my head.

froubylou · 28/05/2016 18:48

Thanks lemony. Dp did ok in the end. Went to the butchers and got a bbq pack and I could have most of it. I had a lamb chop with fat removed, a piece of lean steak, and 2 lamb shish kebabs. Probably a bit of oil on the kebabs so would allow a couple of syns for that. And I did a massive plate of salad with it.

Had an unplanned sp day so far too. Veg soup then meat and salad! So have 2 b choices for snacks later.

Might have a couple of weetabix as I haven't used all my a choice and can still have 2 hifi bars.

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2016 19:09

Well done Mr Frouby.

My BIL is here ATM, I can't stand him. He is constantly having sly digs at my weight Angry wether it's directly at me or passive aggressive. Tosser. I wish DH didn't idolise him so much.

froubylou · 28/05/2016 19:36

Can you dig at him back? I so would. Is he balding/got bad teeth/slightly boz eyed/acne/BO or paranoid about anything?

If he hasn't make something up! Make the annoying fucker paranoid.

Or with every comment he makes ask him what he means. With a head tilt. And understanding smile.

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2016 19:43

He has a huge nose. He wouldn't get sly digs, he's thick as mince.

A few months ago when he was here he said 'Lemony, you'll be able to answer this, why do fat girls like to wear leggings?'. So I wear leggings every time he is here just to prove a point that he's an arse.

Today we went shopping. A young loved up couple walked past us, he was very skinny, she was quite overweight and he said 'that's just so sad hat, dating someone who doesn't match your body'.

He's a twat. Causes nothing but arguments between me and DH when he is up. I tend to hide away but was dragged along today. He knows I'm doing slimming world, kept suggesting places to go eat then said 'ah wait, Lemony can't eat there because she's on a "diet" then caused a scene when I said I would have something when we got home.

calzone · 28/05/2016 20:50

B.....sausages, bacon, eggs and beans
Fruit

L....3 bread (HEB) chicken tikka, tomato

D....meatballs and spaghetti with cauliflower

Too many syns in the evening.....

froubylou · 28/05/2016 20:53

He sounds a complete and utter cunt.

Make yourself a pretend nose out of a loo roll tube and some string. Sit with it on all night. So you fit in with him.

Also say ' ah bil you will be able to answer this. Do you get bigger boogies from a bigger nose?'

And then 10 mins later 'ah bil you will be able to answer this. Do smells seem stronget when you have a bigger nose?'

And then 10 minutes later 'ah bil you will be able to answer this. Do you have to buy special sunglasses to fit on your bigger nose'.

Should shut the fucker up. And next time he won't eat somewhere you can all eat, eat him!

EmilyK83 · 28/05/2016 21:53

Bloody hell Lemony he sounds like a proper twat!!! Id have struggled not to punch him by now!!

Feeling strong today. 5.5 hour pub crawl this afternoon, and I stuck to Diet Coke and avoided the crisps (well, I had one tiny one). Feeling slightly smug - especially as I still have 13 syns and 2 HexB choices (today is an sp day) to use on snacks to enjoy with a film!

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2016 22:08

Haha Frouby, that made me laugh. I'll not be able to look at him now without picturing myself wearing a false nose.

There is so much to our hate/hate relationship, I don't want to bore you with it all. I've been with DH 20 years, so you can imagine how, long it's been going on for.

I've had an ok day apart from twat face. I've stayed within my syns even though I've felt like going over.

Talk me through SP days, I've read the book, but can't get my head round it.

EmilyK83 · 28/05/2016 22:25

SP days...so, each meal to be half speed, half protein. You can use storecupboard essentials, but no other free foods. You still get your regular syns and healthy A choice, and you get two healthy B choices.

It's supposed to boost losses, I'm trying a few days this week to see if it helps at all! Not missing pasta/rice/potatoes yet (but it's only my second day...), and loving having two B choices!

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2016 22:41

I might give it a whirl, sounds easy enough. Do you still get syns?

calzone · 28/05/2016 22:50

Yes you do

mumtoblaire · 28/05/2016 23:53

Just quickly should have been asleep hours ago - work in the morningBlush.
B - banana strawberries activia 0% vanila
L - chicken slices and babybel ( really busy at work).
D - Chili with rice and lots of veg

2 x glasses champagne (9) totally worth it

EmilyK83 · 29/05/2016 07:43

Yep I've been using pretty much all my syns the last few days when I've been doing SP Smile No idea if it'll work yet, have been reading up online and it seems to work for some and not for others! There's a lady in my group who did it the last two weeks though, she lost 2lb last week and 5lb the week before!!

fraggle84 · 29/05/2016 09:10

Can I join please?

Started sw a year ago, lost 2 stone so far and have another 3 to go. I haven't done too well recently but I downloaded mfp and was amazed how many calories I was having but staying within syns

I've now started to use mfp and trying to stay under 1750 calories but keep to sw rules and 10 sw syns

Taste a bit of logging but I need to be strict with myself.

Yesterday was
B - wholemeal toast & poached egg
L - tuna jacket & salad
D - bbq- sw chilli burgers and salad

EmilyK83 · 29/05/2016 11:23

Hi Fraggle!

Today's plan for me is another SP day - the third in a row before weigh in on Tues...

B - 2 slices toast (first HexB), one with egg mayo (1 syn for mayo), one with mushrooms

L - ham hock salad

D - lasagne made with leeks instead of pasta! Will blitz up Bisto cauliflower cheese for the white sauce (rounding up to 1 syn per portion), and 25g Primula light (2 syns) per portion for the cheesy topping... Served with salad

Skinny latte for my HexA, Alpen Lights for my second HexB. And 11 syns still to play with!

froubylou · 29/05/2016 13:18

I think the sp days only make a difference if you have a lot of the free food such as pasta/rice/potatoes. If you do and then cut them out you are going to massively reduce your calories. The biggest change diet wise for me atm is reducing the amount of carbs and replacing them with speed. Lunch in particular was usually a sandwich. Am having soup or salad now so it's speed instead of carbs.

Am wearing a pair of jeans today I haven't been comfortable in for a good few months! Yay. And I still have circulation which is always helpful.

B. Coffee
L. Not had anything yet and am fettling wardrobes/clutter so am going to have this coffee and get back to it.
T. Dp wants to do another bbq so probably another unintentional SP day. Haven't been having 2 b choices though as I usually have to force 1. Will have a couple of hifi later if I haven't had anything.
