Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

I need my jaws wired! Been picking all afternoon and have to go to class shortly...aaaarrrgghhh! Why must I be so silly? In my defence I've got my period so have carb cravings. Oh well, time to go! Shock

ALemonyPea · 25/05/2016 17:51

Thanks Trinity. My current goal is to have lost 2 stone by 20 June as have to have a full skin check at the hospital. Hope the doctor has a strong stomach Grin I only need to lose 10.5 lbs, which doesn't seem much, but when it's 4 weeks away, it seems unreachable. I don't look or feel any different, I think I need to lose 3 stone before that will happen.

I don't want to give up, this diet is essential. I've always been a WW girl, but they've changed it so much this year that I find it hard to follow, sugar and carbs have such a high point value, and I live for carbs.

I was really annoyed yesterday, as I was having a moan about my slow weight progress to my mam and sister, and they were so negative, metalling me to reduce my portions, don't have syns, do exercise blah blah blah. They just don't understand the diet and think the stuff I'm eating isn't right for a diet. Always have something to say yet can't even do a week on any diet themselves. I think that's what annoyed me more yesterday rather than the loss, they affected my mood and I did what I do best, binge eat.

Twinklestar2 · 25/05/2016 18:06

What's the best things to eat from an Indian takeaway please?

maygirl · 25/05/2016 18:17

Well done getting back on it lemony.

SP day again
B weetabix, heB ,chopped apple cinnamon milk heA.
L chicken and bean salad wrap heB2
Guacamole 3 syn, salsa, salad
Snack pastrami. Sugar free sweets 4 syns
Dinner after weigh in later will be bolognese with veg

ALemonyPea · 25/05/2016 18:19

Probably the side salad that comes with the starter Grin

I'd say chicken tikka starter with plain rice. All Indian sauces have oil and or cream in so best avoided.

SW website says the following syns per portion, which is half a carton:

Chicken dishes – fab for a filling main, Chicken dhansak is 10½ Syns on Extra Easy. Chicken jalfrezi is 13 Syns, chicken vindaloo is 12 Syns and chicken tandoori is 9½ Syns

maygirl · 25/05/2016 19:02

I usually go for a shashlik dish as it's tandoori meat with speed veg, so sticks with SW principle of 1/3 veg to fill u up more. Take away one is never very greasy. It can be a bit more so in a restaurant as comes out on the sizzling pan .

nomoreheroes · 25/05/2016 19:26

2lb off...not as much as I'd hoped for having had 4 SP days in a row (well, 3.5 as I've just had a very non SP 3 slices of bread and butter with the SP soup and salad I had prepared for dinner Blush). Still, it's a loss and every bit counts. Lemony, as you can see, carbs are very much my "thing" too so that's what attracts me to SW. But...I'm learning to have less carbs. I had a sort of paella/jambalaya thingy last night with cauliflower rice and honestly it was delicious - lovely nutty taste off the cauli. Had chilli for lunch without rice/wraps. Just lots of beans and veg. But now I am sounding like your mum and sister, sorry! Just keep on doing what you're doing...it is working. Flowers

muminthecity · 25/05/2016 19:26

I miss Indian takeaway. My favourite is chicken korma with rice, naan and onion bahjis which would be about 600 syns probably Grin

Tandoori chicken seems a good option though.

My meals today:-

B- banana
L - ham, mushroom, tomato and sweetcorn pasta salad (2 syns for Mayo)
D - jacket potato with cheese (HEA) and beans

S - pineapple and melon. Feel like having a treat tonight so will have a packet of skips (4.5 syns) and 2 hifi bars (one choc orange and one rocky road) later

froubylou · 25/05/2016 19:27

I have found a chicken dish with chickpeas at my local takeaway the is nice. Or I sometimes have the one with spinach in. I have found the chickpea one to be less greasy than a mainstream one too. Always have boiled rice and go very easy in the bread. I sometimes have half a chappati which is much less syns than half a nan bread.

ALemonyPea · 25/05/2016 19:45

Nomore, I am trying to cut my carbs, which is going well. I not having massive portions, and have had cauli rice a few times, I do like cauli rice. I've also been having lettuce when having chilli or tuna as a wrap instead of bread.

I suppose it's a learning curve of what has and hasn't been working, mand today I've gone back to basics and I think this week I'm going to try do what I was doing in the first few weeks by having a lot more food, as I've been cutting down what I eat. In the beginning, I was having more fruit as well rather than just salads, so m fruit bought, and will be having that on top of the usual, I'm probably not having enough speed.

Also, does anyone know if having no added sugar (free) squash has any effect on weight loss as I've been drinking more of that, as opposed to the odd bottle of Diet Coke and water.

mumtoblaire · 25/05/2016 20:38

Today has been a really good day.

B - Strawberries & Activia yoghurt
S - Coco pops (5)so not worth it for a measly 25gr Angry Bird & milk HEA
L - HM vegetable soup
S - Banana
D - HM carbonara with 25gr grated cheddar (5)

Finding it much easier this time due to the support at work and on here.

EmilyK83 · 25/05/2016 20:46

Lemony - I drink mainly squash and sparkling flavoured water, and I'm losing an average of 2.2lb a week - would have thought that as long as you're getting enough fluid down, it should be fine!

Our tap water tastes vile - can't drink it without squash!

Buttwing · 25/05/2016 20:58

Good day today, I've hurt my back and I've been taken some really strong painkillers which seem to have taken away my appetite almost unheard of

B-nothing
L-chicken salad
D- some left over chicken

Flake(5) 2 hifis

Twinklestar2 · 25/05/2016 21:58

Thanks for your replies all Smile

maygirl · 25/05/2016 22:32

Maintained again, haven't lost anything this month. Hopefully June will be better ....

KittyOShea · 25/05/2016 22:36

1/2 lb off tonight which I am happy enough with after an over indulgent weekend.

OP posts:
calzone · 25/05/2016 23:11

Maygirl

Have a day off plan and then speed vegetables all the way!

MamOfTwo · 25/05/2016 23:18

Made the tomato and spinach pasta tonight (in Veggie Deluxe cookbook and was also in this month's mag, I think) - delicious! Not going to make my WI on Saturday as it's my birthday so trying to have as many good days as I can before and after weekend!

maygirl · 26/05/2016 09:08

Thanks Calzone. Thinking about it overnight I'm not feeling too bad today. I had 2 birthdays and a weekend away this month. If I hadn't been doing SW I'd be feeling bigger and bloated today. I've maintained and clothes fit OK. Onwards and downwards! On hol next week but self catering and going to stay on plan and be active with the kids.
Have a great bday Mam!

EmilyK83 · 26/05/2016 09:35

Well done Kitty - and hopefully you'll have an amazing June, May!

Happy birthday for Saturday Mam! Cake

OrianaBanana · 26/05/2016 09:49

1lb off this week. Onwards and sort of upwards but not too much...

EmilyK83 · 26/05/2016 09:59

Well done Oriana!

Today's plan:

B - strawberries

L - probably a Subway salad, as I'm out for a meeting at 12 and will want something quick on the way back...

D - Heck chicken Italia sausages (0.5 Syns each), mash and tenderstem broccoli

Skinny latte as HexA, HexB will be dried apricots and an Alpen Light

ALemonyPea · 26/05/2016 11:03

What is with melons lately? I can't seem to find any nice ones. They're either too hard or just on the turn. Anyone else finding this?

B: fruit and yoghurt
D: turkey bacon, beans, cheese (HEA), toast (HEB), mushrooms
T: chicken chow mein

Syns: 2 ginger biscuits (maybe) 7 syns

nomoreheroes · 26/05/2016 11:26

Not melons as I rarely buy them, but kiwis, plums, apricots - just about everything else. "Ripen at home" should be changed to "try not to miss the brief moment between rock hard and edible"! Even if I pay extra for "ripe and ready" they aren't great. And yes, I know, I should be buying fruit in season, but I just have to buy what I can afford. I do a lot of apples (even though they give me terrible cramps) and frozen berries now.

froubylou · 26/05/2016 12:27

I am struggling to find decent lasting fruit too. Strawberries in particular always have a couple of squishy ones in even with a long date.

I sometimes think it would be worth paying the extra for M and S fruit as it lasts so much longer.

Todays plan.

B. Coffee
L. Hm veg soup
T lamb tagine and rice with a bit of extra veg.

Syns not decided yet. Need to allow a couple for the honey and apricots in the tagine and that's it really.
