Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

Oh I love M&S fruit, wish I could afford it every day.

froubylou · 26/05/2016 16:39

Me too lemony, it's just so expensive though. But with the amount I throw away I bet it wouldn't be much different. They are building a new m and s near us, about 1.5 miles instead of 6 which is the closest one currently. Am seriously considering switching from tesco or morrisons to M and S for fruit and veg and nice stuff and aldi for the basic with a Wilkinsons shop for cleaning stuff and toiletries.

I am spending a fortune atm on food and although we eat well I am sure I could cut money by shopping that way. I get meat from the butchers any way so my food shop tends to be freezer stuff and then basics.

Having an unintentional SP day today. Bought cauliflower rice to go with my tagine and have had veg soup for lunch.

maygirl · 26/05/2016 17:28

thanks Emily! Well done kitty and oriana !
I've just had a nice melon, asda I think.

B scrambled egg, 1 syn butter, beans
L tuna melt from this months mag, was lush! HeB bread + 3 syns (bigger slice), tuna, fromage frais, red onion, sweetcorn, half heA 25g mozzarella. Other half milk in 2 coffees
Melon ,
D tandoori marinated lamb leg steak, stir fried veg.
Few more syns later.

nomoreheroes · 26/05/2016 20:46

Froubylou I know what you mean about spending a fortune...I know I could buy cheaper fruit and veg but I just get bored. But I buy my basics in Lidl, branded stuff and extra lean mince in Tesco or Asda, with a sneaky M&S visit every now and then for raspberries and strawberries as tbh they're so crap everywhere else!

I've been eating like an absolute horse today and yet I appear to still be on plan!

B Scrambled egg and mushroom
B2 Porridge (hexa and hexb) and an apple (was peckish at work and had nothing else!)
L Lentil and tomato soup
Snack banana, few chunks pineapple, 2 slices ham, slice of bread and butter
D small portion cottage pie and cabbage (wasn't hungry having eaten all day!)
Syns 11 (bread, butter, bisto in cottage pie)

Am having a bath now to keep me away from the kitchen!!! Shock

emwithme · 26/05/2016 20:47

BOOOOM! 2.5 lbs off this morning Grin Grin Grin - seriously chuffed with that. Also found out I passed my last assessment at college (with 19/20, no less Halo ) so it's been a good day all round.

In laws arrive on Saturday and we're nearly ready (just the "normal" cleaning and the kitchen floor to do - last night I was contemplating not cleaning the microwave and just buying a new one...why the fuck do I not just wipe it over when I'm done rather than letting things stick because I'm a dirty slattern but ended up able to clean the baked on gunk off instead). I'm now thinking of nice things to cook while they're here - going to do a macaroni cheese on Saturday night , I can prep it during the day and then just heat it up when we're ready to eat (their plane gets in at 6 ish Saturday teatime); roast on Sunday, then not sure about Monday but thinking either a cottage pie or spaghetti carbonara, depending on the weather. I would say we'll go out to eat but it's a Bank Holiday and the world will be descending on us here at the seaside so it'll be a pain getting somewhere reasonable.

I've found it really useful tracking using MFP; it's shown me where my portions may be a little bit out of whack. That's part of the issue being an inately greedy bastard, I could easily eat far too much (even if it is in the "right proportions" for Slimming World compliance) which is all extra calories that I don't necessarily need.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Breakfast muffins, lemon drizzle cake (2 syns)
Lunch: Tuna pasta salad, apple, pear, 3 x satsumas
Pre-college snack: Apple, pear
Mid-college snack: Small sushi pack (1 syn), lemon drizzle cake (2 syns)
Late dinner with DH: Garlic & Herb chicken breast (1 syn), jersey potatoes, sprouts, cauliflower
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

nomoreheroes · 26/05/2016 20:50

Well done Em. Star

froubylou · 26/05/2016 20:55

Well done Em!

Just had that caul rice stuff. Was pretty nice. Nicer than I thought it would be. It said fry it off but am pretty sure that you can microwave it too if anyone knows. It would make a lovely egg fried rice I reckon!

ALemonyPea · 26/05/2016 20:57

Well done Em.

There are two M&S near me, both within 2 miles. I wish I could justify expensive fruit, my youngest would eat it all though, he can smell grapes and strawberries from a mile off.

HelenF35 · 26/05/2016 22:04

I've been awol again. Lost 3.5 this week and got my stone and a half award.
I made that Caribbean pepper pot stew Emily but I did it in the slow cooker. It was amazing and my partner loved it too.

I've been on some kind of eating rampage for the last 3 days. I've eaten loads of rubbish and have been absolutely ravenous. Not helped by the fact I've been wait next to vending machine at work. I do have my period but I'm never normally like this! Confused Need to get back on the wagon. Expecting a big gain this week!

muminthecity · 26/05/2016 22:48

Lost 2lbs this week and got my stone and a half certificate. I'm delighted! Off to Blackpool on Monday, staying in a hotel for a few nights so will be eating out every day. Will try to make good choices but may succumb to an ice cream at some point.

Anyone got any tips for staying vaguely on plan?

mumtoblaire · 26/05/2016 22:55

Oh new M&S food hall has opened 5 mins away from me. I have stayed away so far but heading there tomorrow for some fruit & vegGrin Love it!

Today has been good so far but everyone gone to bed so I keep wandering into kitchen and opening the fridge thankfully is mostly bare as going food shopping tomorrow.

Breakfast - Porridge HEB made with water and tsp syrup (1)
Snack - Strawberries and Activia yoghurt
Lunch - Home made veg soup
Snack - Banana
Dinner - Spaghetti with tsp pesto (2) and cheddar cheese HEA

froubylou · 27/05/2016 15:42

EmilyK83 · 27/05/2016 19:01

Butt - that's definite willpower!

Hope mum's ok, frouby. Gin sounds like a plan.

Doing an SP day today, and for some reason my stomach looks so bloated!!

ALemonyPea · 27/05/2016 20:28

I ended up having KFC for tea, but it came to 13.5 syns, totally worth it. I am stuffed.

Hope your mum is ok Frouby.

Butt, I would have had to wear a muzzle in an ice cream shop. I love proper ice cream. there is an amazing gelato shop at the coast near us, and I am avoiding it at all cost.

thelionsleeps · 27/05/2016 21:11

Wow alemonypea - what did you have? That sounds great syn wise.

We had an inser day here so lots of walking and out for a picnic. Had lots of grapes and satsumas and did sandwiches with kingsmill wholemeal no crusts. It was all good until I decided to take some pringles which my little boy didn't like. 47.5 syns!!! Basically on no syns now until wi!

But on the plus side logged it all and didn't have anything else so all good.

Has anyone tried the kfc chicken fakeaway made with couscous? Any good?

Buttwing · 27/05/2016 21:14

I'm not going to lie it was tough!! I love love love ice cream, they make loads of different flavours actually on the farm. It's an amazing place if you've got children loads to do will definitely go back with lemony's muzzle would really recommend it if anyone is near Chester.

B-fruit and yogurt
L-baked potato and beans
D-spicy prawn spaghetti

2 hifis
Syns-lick of ice cream, 2 haribo and a mini curlywurly(3)

HelenF35 · 27/05/2016 21:21

http://www.foodforfitness.co.uk/cajun-jambalaya-recipe.php#.V0ir4PR4WnM had this for dinner but added mushrooms and a little chorizo which was a few Syns. Yum!

ALemonyPea · 27/05/2016 22:21

I had three chicken mini fillets (3 syns each), corn cobette (free) and a veggie rice box. Couldn't find syns for it, but that with the shredded bbq chicken was 4.5 syns, so went with that. Also got beans (free), but I was stuffed so left them.

The veggie rice box was probably only 1-2 syns, but better to over estimate I guess.

EmilyK83 · 27/05/2016 22:53

Thelion - YES! The KFC couscous fakeaway is amazing - here's a pic from last time I made it!

I use this recipe, it's brilliant: fatgirlskinny.net/syn-free-kfc-style-chicken-fakeaway-slimming-world-recipe/
