I never understand why picking up clothes and putting them somewhere is such a big deal!

DS also asleep again...Good luck to us both!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 01/01/2018 03:35

Hi Zampa! waves When they both won't sleep is a special type of hell isn't it?

ValentineFizz · 01/01/2018 04:08

Happy New Year ladies, feed#1 here just now....

Jellybean2017 · 01/01/2018 05:31

Happy New Year! May 2018 bring you lots of uninterrupted sleep 😁

DD sleept a but better last night. I swear she had been too hot (it's like a sauna at my mum's) and after turning the heating down she wasn't up every hour. And she slept through the pyro party outside!

DH and I decided that I would be staying at home an extra month (unpaid mat leave, God help us).
I think I confirmed CMPA in DD, so we need to know what we're doing first. Poor little mite.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 01/01/2018 06:59

Shit night here! What a great start to 2018. DS wriggling and screaming even though I've fed him loads, no point handing him over to DH as he'll never settle for him. I want to be positive about the year ahead but all I can think of is - oh good, another year of no sleep!

Glad there were some good nights happening.

Lallypopstick · 01/01/2018 07:37

Happy new year all - I had an ok night. Only 3 wake ups to feed which is very unusual. I had another wake up as my partner was still up at half 2 and I think I must have been in light sleep as the light from the room he was in was irritating me.

I feel loads better today - I slept from 9pm to 7am with a few brief wake ups so overall that’s a lot of sleep. May it continue.

Jellybean2017 · 01/01/2018 08:16

I'm quite glad to have had a relatively good night as off to a family gathering with the in laws today... Long drive and baby hates the car 🙈

My 2018 started with DD2 vomiting down my cleavage at 4am! Lovely!

DD1 didn't sleep until 2330 (too excited by presence of step-siblings) but slept through and is currently still asleep!

actino · 01/01/2018 08:44

Happy new year! I got a nice 3 hour stretch, but woke up at 630 with all over body aches, so I think I've got some kind of virus. Breastfeeding is not going to be fun today.

On the plus side, it gives me an excuse to sleep all day and hide from my in-laws.

Meepmoop · 01/01/2018 09:31

Oh no actino, hope it goes as fast as it came. Being ill with babies is not fun.

Woke up thought ild had a great night, looked at my app and we had 5 wake ups! I think what I class as a good night has changed

AMagdalena · 01/01/2018 10:26

@meepmoop I've stopped looking at the clock for that precise reason! I only glance at it sometimes...
I judge a night by how tired I wake up Grin

Stuck under a baby again, btw.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 01/01/2018 12:52

So 2018 is not off to the best start. DS is just so out of sorts. Crying if he's not being held and even when he is being held. He's being fed plenty so think it must be a cluster feed day. I'm just so so tired, particularly struggling today. Plus I'm getting worried about next week when DH goes back to work and it's just me and the kids. I've got used to him taking DS in the morning to give me extra sleep, I guess many of you are in the same boat!

Ugh. Sorry to whinge on. Sure things will seem better tomorrow. New years day is always a bit of a meh time anyway...

theotherendofthesockportal · 01/01/2018 13:19

My DH is going back to work tomorrow. I'm going to miss him, he is good at bringing me hot cups of tea and ensuring that I drink them. I will of course miss his company too.

Jellybabie3 · 01/01/2018 13:28

Hi all and happy new year!

DS was rather grizzly at mums last night but we made it to midnight. Took us til 2.30am to get him to sleep as a result though but he then slept til 8.30am for a short feed then again til 11.45. He must have been exhausted. Hopefully this growth spurt will end soon.

Lots of cuddles today. New year usually makes me sad/off but this year i am contemplative. Was a year ago today my son was made Blush oh what a year 2017 was!! That and getting married when i was 8 months pregnant!

AMagdalena · 01/01/2018 15:36

Successful transfer for a nap after a failed attempt. DD has had some decent naps today. Well, longer than 33 mins which is good for her.

Off to see the paediatrician tomorrow. Slightly nervous.

xxrealistmumxx · 01/01/2018 16:40

Happy New Year everyone!

Not the best night for us but not the worst either. I just wish I understood why some babies struggle so much with sleep. I mean you never see any other mammals struggle to get their babies to sleep, what is it with baby humans!?!

I'm also dreading DH going back to work. It's so much nicer having someone else around who really appreciates how hard work it is.

On the plus side we had a nice walk in the peaks and yoga starts back tonight.

AMagdalena · 01/01/2018 18:45

Sometimes I wonder how people with young babies manage to go out, like down town, or host gatherings/house parties in the evening (not the quiet night in type).
It'd be impossible with my non-sleeper and bottle refuser. Even if it was possible, I don't think I'd want to sacrifice the little sleep I get just to have a night out. Nah.

sleepycat13 · 01/01/2018 19:53

trying to have an early night tonight after a late one yesterday. have started bedtime routine a couple hours early.... suspect ds will still only go to sleep at the usual 10pm
Hmm

Jellybean2017 · 01/01/2018 20:23

DS fell asleep in the car today. As if this wasn't miracle enough we also managed to lay him down asleep for a nap while we had lunch. OK so he woke after 20 minutes but it is significant progress. So it's been a good day here. Let's hope the night goes well too, for all of us...

xxrealistmumxx · 01/01/2018 21:05

@Amagdalena I know what you mean. Sleep comes first every time for me!

Turning in for the night. Not boding well as adjust had to resettle LO twice :(

Thought DS1 was a bad sleeper but our newest little man is something else!!

Ven83 · 01/01/2018 21:58

@Jellybean2017 It's so much easier to eat dinner since DS discovered his interest in toys. I can lay him down in his tiny love red rocker cot and he can play with the toys hanging off the bar for 15 minutes or so with minimal intervention from me. I just have to time it right so that he's fed and in a good mood before we sit to eat.

Hoping for a good night, he's been a bit unsettled last night and we didn't get much rest. Hasn't thrown up quite as much as yesterday tho

Ven83 · 01/01/2018 21:59

Damn I posted that too soon.

Anyway, wishing you all a good restful night!

Meepmoop · 01/01/2018 22:29

Strange New Year's Day here.

We hosted both families which went well but sadly my Gran passed away in the early evening. Not at the party she was in a home.

We were fully expecting it but it was still a blow.

Trying to get DS asleep but he is wide awake, we've had no naps either.

DiscombobulatedWomble · 01/01/2018 22:47

Sorry to hear about your Gran @Meepmoop, whether it's expected or not these things are always a shock & I always find it that tiny bit harder to process when it comes at such an ordinarily celebratory time of year Flowers
