MaeWest · 10/04/2007 09:49

bleugh - DS wouldn't go to sleep until 8, then woke at 9, 12, 3.30, 5.30 but did at least then only start the day at 7.30, so just about bearable. He's currently full of beans playing on the rug, but must be wanting a morning nap fairly soon surely?

Tamdin · 10/04/2007 09:55

maewest ds is 14m and i'm still looking forward to his morning naps!

mornng all - well another good-ish night here. ds asleep at 7:15pm, he woke around 8.30pm so had to re-settle - took 5mins max . he woke again around 4am. quick bf and put to bed awake. he was a bit unsettled so had to do cc thing. asleep within 5 mins . he definitely 'gets it'.clever little fella! my goddaughter is sleeping over tonight so tomorrow nite i'm gonna resettle in the night without the bf. swizz/pav - only 7 hrs till 5pm

tibsy · 10/04/2007 10:02

oh and aaaaaahhhhh bless ds, sounds adorable

Amberjee · 10/04/2007 11:58

LO had an hour nap with me in bed this morning - we both got sleep. yay. now i need to go shopping. i'm considering putting him in the sling and taking the pram to put the shopping in. am sure it will be easier that way!

cruisemum1 · 10/04/2007 12:24

amber - i'm sure you winm't be the first!

amijee · 10/04/2007 15:17

hiya

amber - i do that all the time! Stroller is for carrying shopping!

I'm continuing to make really good progress with ds - last night he slept until 04.30 and then cried for only 5 mins before going back to sleep with shhh/patting and then woke at 6am for a feed and slept until 07.30. His first wake up is getting later and later so i'm hoping he can get thru to 6am one of these days!

( and only a few weeks ago I was feeding him 3-4 times a night)

cruisemum1 · 10/04/2007 16:29

ami - that's fab! same here

Swizzler · 10/04/2007 19:14

Evening: back from work, got DS bathed and into bed and all is fine . Let's see what the night holds (off again tomorrow )

Amberjee · 10/04/2007 19:28

ami - great news. how old is your LO now?

my LO is very pleased with himself as he's managed to delay going to bed first by vomiting (had to fill that tummy all over again), and now by doing a poo. ah, timing. dh is changing him and is going to attempt to settle him after.

Amberjee · 10/04/2007 19:28

ps. i sure did fit a lot of shopping in the pram.

Tamdin · 10/04/2007 20:11

evening all. dh putting ds to bed .been at a friends tonight and he got the driving short straw so i've had a few glasses of wine and feeling good!
swizz how was first day at work. did you have to stop yourselfy from becoming a baby bore or were you glad to be in anadult free environment and leave any talk of parenthood for home or mn!
for cruise and ami
lol amber at your new shopping trolley x

Tamdin · 10/04/2007 20:12

hope you managed to make sense of that. good spot who's been drinking

Swizzler · 10/04/2007 20:28

Tamdin: glad at adult free environment but felt v weird to be without the boy for so long... only done 1 day so far so will see how 2 days in a row goes next week . DS laughed and wriggled when I cam back so feel v popular

Tamdin · 10/04/2007 20:53

god must be pissed couldn't even spell god

cruisemum1 · 10/04/2007 21:27

tamdin- shame on you?! . drinking too much is good for the soul....that's my excuse anyway .#
swizz - glad to day was ok for you. probably make you appreciate all areas of your life once you get back to work. no plans to do that here though.
amber - v funny about shopping in pram! your lo knows exactly what he wants!
ginge/ami/tibs and others- hope your nights are good tonight.

see ya tomorrow

bridget001 · 10/04/2007 21:39

hey everyone

wow this thread gets full quickly, anyway thanks for the welcome

my ds is now 10 months old and i think he's cutting his top teeth so am gonna give him that excuse for a few days till i decide what to do got some medised and bongela today that usually helps, he didnt eat much today either so who knows

mae my god woman do u do that amount of waking up every night, not that i havent i sometimes get nights where ds will wake up once and stay up for 2 hours and its awful, i feel for u

anyone got a secret on how to get through the day when u got a splitting headache and ur eyes keep closing

anyway last night he woke up at 1 but took his bottle and went back to sleep but omg at 4:30 it took until maybe 5:30 to get him off again he fell asleep in my arms

i was thinkin i should just put myself out of my misery and shift him to another room and do cc or even pu/pd any suggestions welcomed
will check back tomrw hope everyone gets some sleep tonight and if not then survives lol

bye

Amberjee · 11/04/2007 07:02

god, LO woke at 11, 12, 2, 4, 5, 6 and stayed awake. was a truly horrible night. a few of those times took quite a while to settle.

Amberjee · 11/04/2007 07:10

bridge, the only way i know how to get through the day when you feel like that is to either go out of the house all day and ignore it, or get someone to look after LO for a few hours while you sleep. today i'm resorting to the former, as there's no one here to look after the little peanut.

MaeWest · 11/04/2007 07:43

Sounds similar to our night Amberjee . Was so narky with DH this morning due to tiredness as well. Probably teething (DS not DH obv )

Swizzler · 11/04/2007 08:43

Amber and MaeWest: for your bad nights. DS did 2 3-hr stretches again which makes up for the morefreqent waking early on. Can you get a nap if you nap with your LO? Sometimes the only way I can get a nap.

Criuse: early days but I think gthe p/t work wil work out in the end. I am more appreciative of the time I have with DS (even if he is covered with porridge at the moment)

cruisemum1 · 11/04/2007 08:45

morning all. to hear of awful nites.
bridget - welcome but sorry you have to join us.
amber - that sounds horrendous.
more later. my dd's friends mum has arrived!

tibsy · 11/04/2007 10:37

amber and maewest for your nights.
amijee on yours
swizz glad your day back at work was ok. its so nice to return to a smiling babe isnt it? makes you feel on top of the world!
tam - hope you had a good night [hic!!]
cruise - how was yours?
anyone heard from ginger?
bridget teething is the pits aint it?

our night was ok, only took her 35 mins to go off without any 'props'. was still with her and rubbing her tum tho. few tears
but she woke several times thru the evening and settled herself
woke at 1.40 for a feed, again at 4.45am for a feed, then up at 7am

Tamdin · 11/04/2007 13:22

good night tibs
