amijee · 09/04/2007 10:29

well done cruise - keep it up. I'm still getting about 30 mins crying overnight because ive stopped the night feeding. Will keep going!

MaeWest · 09/04/2007 11:12

Morning - found you all again . I've been staying with my mum for a few days, DS not too fazed by strange environment and only woke a couple of times in the nights, getting him to sleep in the daytime was more problematic tho... Back home now and he is regularly waking twice a night, but keeps me on my toes as to what time that will be. Am just feeding him back to sleep and hoping he'll grow out of it soon, however at 3.30 he seemed to be more interested in looking around and playing, grr. DH took him for a couple of hrs this morning so I could have a lie-in - will have to make this a regular fixture.

tibsy · 09/04/2007 12:06

morning all!!!!
maewest - well done to your dh. regular fixture sounds like a plan
ami, how old is your lo, am of night weaning!
maebee poor you, have had no experience of that, but sounds bloody painful, hope it improves soon.
tam - that sounds lovely dp is back today and i cant wait. hope to pop to seaside later in week in sunshine continues. need to get out!!!
cruise - that is just the night i'm after dd still waking in the evening gggrrrr, she goes back off ok, but grrr nonetheless
amber - stop it, you're putting me to shame
ginger - its dreadful isnt it? i used to love going out and was the last to leave a club, now i'm leaving before most people arrive!!!!
kitty , how did last night go? [hopeful emoticon]

cruisemum1 · 09/04/2007 12:07

maewest - two wakings is great!my ds did this and, like yours, times differed each nite. also have the occasional 1.5/2hour 'playtime' waking which are the pits...... hopethe naps improve. ds doing 30 - 40 min bursts at the mo. can't get anything done in that time ...grrrrrr!

Swizzler · 09/04/2007 12:11

Glad to hear of improvements all roiund . Unsettled night for us last night, but still had some 2 hr stretches. Suspect all the chocolate I ate may have had something to do wit it . Back at work tomorrow (boo!) so hoping for a better night tonight.

Maebee: poor you . Hope the treatment works.

tibsy · 09/04/2007 12:16

swizz, hope you have a few decent stretches tonight in preparation for work tomorrow

cruisemum1 · 09/04/2007 12:30

swizz - work! ugh

PavlovtheCat · 09/04/2007 15:28

Swizzler - good luck for work tomorrow. I am going back to work too. How are you feeling about it?
I have been given some time each day to BF LO, at least for now, however I have to do a week long course at end of the month, miles away (meant to be residential but will have to commute about 150 miles round trip each day

What days are you doing this week?

Tamdin · 09/04/2007 16:11

swizz good luck for work. pavlov 150 mile round trip poor you
tibs for dp coming back
cruise your continued success

cruisemum1 · 09/04/2007 16:23

hi tamdin - thanks for that! . pavlov - uuurgh! what a horrible prospect. a week . just think that it is such a short time in the grand scheme of things. drink plenty of coffee!!

Amberjee · 09/04/2007 17:11

ah bliss, dh has taken LO for a little walk. the house is so quiet. i think i might catch up on some dodgy tv before the bath bedtime onslaught! hoping tonight is at least as good as last night, hopefully even better, though LO has been quite unsettled today. he's started sleeping in the pram a bit (after he stops crying that is), so at least there's another option for naps other than the sling, though he always wakes up and objects if i stop moving for long. i sure am going to be fit from all this walking to sleep malarkey.

Swizzler · 09/04/2007 17:16

Amber:it's great when you get some free time, isn't it? I've ben a bit spoiled as DH has been at home throughout (he's freelance and things are quiet at the moment) so I usually get an hour or two of peace a day when he takes DS for a walk

Pav: I'm working Tues, Thurs and possibly Friday. I'll usually work Mon, Tues and Thurs when there isn't a bank holiday. I'll be up to 4 days in June/July.

How am I feeling about it? A bit apprehensive - got that 'back to school' feeling for the first time in 6 months - but also reasonably happy with my decision to go back. I'll really really miss spending all day with DS, but I will enjoy being back in the office (most of the time ) and it gives DH a chance to spend time with DS without me looking over his shoulder! I may be feeling differently this time tomorrow, though.

Are you back 3 days? Will you be starting in the new team right away?

PavlovtheCat · 09/04/2007 18:23

Cruise - I have another one in June too, 5 days same place. Great for career thats what I am clinging to...! Shame I did not get this op before I had LO, its a good hotel with pool sauna spa etc, I used to love residentials! (sad?

Swiz - I am doing Tues wednesday this week, normal hours usually, but tomorrow go in anytime I like before 10am, and then hopefully 8-4, then mon-wed following week, then mon-thurs, then mon-fri (training course) by which time I will have sorted out flexi hours. I am asking for 3 x 12 hour days, 9.5 at work, 2.5 at home in evening for admin. I am drawing up a damn fine proposal that they cannot refuse! yeah, shall see! Like you, apprehensive. I went in last week to break the ice.
Fingers crossed LO behaves for DP, and that she sleeps 2nite!!

cruisemum1 · 09/04/2007 19:33

swizz and pavlov - i will be thinking of you tomorrow. hope you have a restful night. .

cruisemum1 · 09/04/2007 21:56

nite everyone . sweet dreams. swizz and pavlov - have a good day back in the fray......

PavlovtheCat · 09/04/2007 22:04

bridget001 · 09/04/2007 22:11

hi everyone

can i join in am also sleep deprived although i'd rather not be as i'm one of them weaklings that likes their sleep.

been thinking about doing the pu/pd method but in my babywhisperer book there isnt much abour it .

talk to u all soon

Swizzler · 09/04/2007 22:12

Hi Bridget - how old is your LO? Sorry you're having problems. I find I do get used to the no sleep thing after a while, but prob going quietly insane without my noticing

tibsy · 10/04/2007 08:15

morning ladies and good luck to swizz and pav hope you had good nights

hello also to bridget

well, i thought i'd better get my arse back into gear and try and get dd into better habits. i'm sure thats a big part of what it is now
anyway, moved on to putting her into cot awake but maintaining contact by putting hand on her tummy.
awake to asleep (took 1 hour - some crying )
1st waking - 1/2 hour to go back off - ditto crying
2nd waking - 5 mins to go back off, if that - minimal crying
3rd waking self settled
woke for a feed at 3.30am
woke again at 5.45, into bed for a cuddle!
i would have slept more i guess but dp was snoring
not too bad i guess...just have to keep it up now hope everyone else had good nights

Swizzler · 10/04/2007 08:20

Morning - not good night (hence in work fantastically early) and NO-ONE ELSE IS HERE . Slackers.

tibsy · 10/04/2007 08:33

oh and amber on lo settling in pram. dd used to hate hers, ALWAYS usd the sling as she used to shout if i took her out in pram still does if shes seriously mardy and i end up carrying her and pushing the pram
had to laugh one day as i was doing this, another mum was walking towards me doing the same. we just looked at each other and smiled knowingly!!!

tibsy · 10/04/2007 08:35

sorry swizz. are your hours flexi or do you have 9 - 5 or the like? hope today goes ok for you

Amberjee · 10/04/2007 08:48

tibs, it seems so ridiculous what we have to do to get them to sleep...
if i take the pram out, i always go armed with a sling in case (well, in the likelihood) things turn sour!

Tamdin · 10/04/2007 09:03

morning all. swizz and pav hope today goes well for you.
welcome bridget.
Tibs that sounds like quite a successful night considering it was your first night back with the 'routine'.
amber ds was same about sleeping in pram (woke up as soon as stop moving) but he's fine now and will take a nap in it if we're out and about.I think he didn't like it because he never liked sleeping on his back

tibsy · 10/04/2007 09:21

amber, i know, you have to think of all eventualities dontcha?

hi tam, how the divil are ya?!! hows lo? got anything nice planned today?
