Ewan the sheep? What is it? Pray tell.

5x last night. 5x.

I'm back to work in 8 weeks. Must get back to just 1x a night maximum.

Ewan is a woolly toy sheep, looks like Timmy and has a nightlight & white noise/harp music which lasts for about 20 mins at a time. Thing is, I had to keep creeping in at 19 1/2 mins to reset it so I use an app now instead.

Gerty1002 · 05/01/2014 19:34

DS has a tummy bug - even more puking than usual ( mild reflux) and frequent diarrhoea. Tremendous...

cindyrella · 05/01/2014 19:35

Aye & it has mums heartbeat from womb over the music or white noise.

Glad im not alone driving round like a fool!

What app do you use cakebaby??

cindyrella · 05/01/2014 19:38

Gerty i feel your pain. Got dd to sleep easily last night, just about to put her down & she coughed then projectile vomited all down me & her. . . aaaand take two.

flopsybunny45 · 05/01/2014 19:47

Also had a drive round in the car today!
Re trying gaviscon tonight...

cakebaby · 05/01/2014 19:48

gerty same here, day 16 for us, all over Xmas total nightmare, 7 nappies & clothing/bedding changes a night at its worst. Then nappy rash. Will get gp test results tomorrow. Totally wretched, I feel for you. I think its exacerbated our issues as i've bf ds more and more for fear of dehydration as he refuses water/rehydration sachets.

cindy I use sound sleeper on my iPhone, cost a few quid for complete version which plays continuously but can get free version to try lasting 30 mins at a time. Rain, storm, womb, ocean, nature, car ride etc loads to choose from.

cindyrella · 05/01/2014 19:56

Omg genious

cindyrella · 05/01/2014 19:57

Omg genius...theres one that shushes for you. Thanks cakebaby xxx

cakebaby · 05/01/2014 20:02

Sorry, forgot the shush one....drives ds bonkers!

Grin at us all driving about like loons!

cindyrella · 05/01/2014 20:43

Can I ask, how long does it take you all to get your dc's to sleep at night? We have routine & have had for weeks now but it takes dd 2 whole hours to sleep (will no longer self settle) I am sick of it!!

cakebaby · 05/01/2014 21:05

whispers in case of jinx it was down to 7 mins a few weeks ago from putting down in cot sleepy. This is after a solid routine of quiet play (QUIET play DH!) bath, jamas, boob, sleeping bag, bed.

Tis now 20 mins ish but was an horrific 45 mins of crying last night before I gave in and boobed him to sleep. Weak.....

Gerty1002 · 06/01/2014 00:44

cindyrella it completely depends on the day. Ironically, he has been really good lately and taking just a few minutes, but then often waking up again 20 mins later and won't properly settle for another hour or so.

Wow that's a long tummy bug, sounds awful! Touch wood DS hasn't been too bad this evening, I went to bed at 8:30pm and he slept fairly well until his midnight feed. He's asleep on my knee now getting winded so hopefully will go down ok. It's usually 3-4am that the fun starts!

cindyrella · 06/01/2014 02:42

Oh Gosh it took me 3

cindyrella · 06/01/2014 02:45

Stupid phone.
3 hours to get her down so we didnt sleep till 10 pm. Then up every 1.5 hours plus she's unsettled & wriggly. Not sure i can survive this night! So. Very. Tired.

robbo76 · 06/01/2014 06:17

My 6 month DS has never really slept well through the night. Over the last week or so it's become worse! Settles at usual time 7:30 for bed, sleeps until 10/11 then up every hour after that. I'm wondering if its coincidence that he starts to waken when I go to bed? He still sleeps in our room, currently looking for bigger house. Might try a night on the sofa to test my theory!

cindyrella · 06/01/2014 07:34

It could be...maybe it would give him a chance to sel settle? They apparently sleep fir the longest stretch first thing.

Could you move his cot to living room for a night instead of yourself??

Well we were up at 11:30, 1, 2:30 then awake despite my best efforts & numerous times falling asleep for 10 mins until 5:30 am when she had a meltdown. Finally asleep at 6am till now (7:30) sigh

cakebaby · 06/01/2014 08:15

Urgh we were up at 11, 110, 220, 340, 540, 7. Fed at each & went back off with min fuss so I suppose that's ok ish. Could be worse. I've been told to feed often in the day (bf) which I do but all it seems to have done is instill a 2 hr feed schedule night & day. Any ideas? He does seem hungry at each waking.

cakebaby · 06/01/2014 08:18

gerty yes it's been a virus we think, DH had a coldy/flu thing a week beforehand. Gp said colds etc in adults can manifest as d&v in babies. Poss rotavirus though so samples went off & results today. It's been horrid for all of us.

Tiredemma · 06/01/2014 08:57

DD fell asleep at 6pm last night Hmm

Awake at 1230- had 5oz milk
awake at 0230- gave dummy- shhhhd back to sleep
awake at 0400- gave (bloody) dummy- shhhhd back to sleep
awake at 530am- had 50z milk went straight back to sleep and woke at 8am.

I cant keep her awake past 6pm

Gerty1002 · 06/01/2014 09:14

Well after my midnight post I changed no less than four dirty nappies! Ds was unsettled from 4:45am and at 5:50am I gave up and coslept - even then he didn't settle quickly like he usually would. Up at 7am and back to sleep at 8:30am.

Doctors today as Ds diarrhoea has blood in :S. Fun times.

cindyrella · 06/01/2014 12:35

Well I have arranged to spend Friday night at a friends leaving dp with expressed milk. Desperate times! He's going to get a shock Mr sleep-on-the-couch!

cakebaby · 06/01/2014 19:44

tired what time is your LO last nap?

Gerty how is ds? What did the Dr say? Hope all is OK

cindy was the app any help?

Tiredemma · 06/01/2014 20:00

cakebaby- she has a brief doze between 3/4pm

She guzzled 8oz of milk before bed tonight so there is a part of me that is hoping she sleeps longer. The realist in me know that this wont happen.

OP posts:
cakebaby · 06/01/2014 21:18

Here's to 8 oz....fx!
