I wondered if we might talk about ditching AIBU, please

seems as though several people are thinking the same...AIBU is such a carbuncle, really.

it was funny at first but now it's just dragging us down imho

I wondered what the official thought was on this?

Thanks.

no don't do that- its already a complicated site to navigate and difficult enough to know where to post if you are a newbie!

thisisyesterday · 14/04/2010 21:37

questioning why someone is here is implying that you feel they shouldn't be.

LittlePushka · 14/04/2010 21:38

I do not mind it being there but I would like to be able tohide it totally so it never appears eg when I press the "last 15 mins /last hour/last day" button

Its alphabetical position means is such a trawl to get through and predominates the boards.

brimfull · 14/04/2010 21:38

omg has that a-z option been there all the time??

thanks

AnyFucker · 14/04/2010 21:40

no it isn't...

perhaps we should post it in AIBU ??

thisisyesterday · 14/04/2010 21:44

i think we should.

actually, instead can I just post this, cos I haven't yet and it seems like it could be appropriate

whomovedmychocolate · 14/04/2010 21:46

Justine - I wouldn't worry, Google does that for you

Actually you should consider doing a separate landing page for the page following registration which has most popular topics first instead of the 'getting started' page (which no bugger uses I bet).

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/04/2010 21:51

FFS

< ironic >

RedBlueRed · 14/04/2010 21:52

At least if they are all on one board you have the option of ignoring if it is not your thing.

I would like to propose some kind of flagging system so that I don't miss the fight can avoid flare ups.

tethersend · 14/04/2010 21:52

Can we have a FFS topic?

AnyFucker · 14/04/2010 21:53

posting the biscuit is your right, tiy, and I would fight to the death that you should have the opportunity to exercise it

I am quite partial to a jammy dodger, meself < pours cuppa >

hocuspontas · 14/04/2010 21:57

By hiding the topic you'll forget it even existed. I hid buying and selling and ante-natal topics (among others) over a year ago and wouldn't even know if they're still around.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/04/2010 21:58

WFT tether - you are clearly a loon. FFS etc etc

tethersend · 14/04/2010 22:01

WFT?

Blimey. Is that like WTF, but worse?

FSF.

thisisyesterday · 14/04/2010 22:02

i wish we had a tea emoticon too

tethersend · 14/04/2010 22:05

U>

tethersend · 14/04/2010 22:05

That was my attempt at a teacup emoticon.

I'll get my coat.

thisisyesterday · 14/04/2010 22:08

ooh not bad!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/04/2010 22:08

Whither Financial Times ?
What Fucking Twat?
Waiting For Trolls?

MerlinsBeard · 14/04/2010 22:10

WFT = Where (are the) Fucking Trolls

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/04/2010 22:10

I don't get that teacup at all. Is it like Magic Eye? Do you have to scrunch up your eyes ?

tethersend · 14/04/2010 22:11

Yes. Scrunch up your eyes really tight.

It helps if you imagine an actual teacup.

notnowbernard · 14/04/2010 22:13

Am late to this thread

But from what I remember, before advent of AIBU? , CHAT was full of threads whose titles started 'AIBU....

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/04/2010 22:13

Do you have to turn your head through 180 degrees?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/04/2010 22:14

Aaah. Got It ! The flower pattern is genius
