What SINGLE thing would make Mumsnet better for you?

bibbitybobbityhat · 19/03/2010 16:31

Thread rules:

  1. please be respectful to mnhq, this is not a bitch fest about MN
  1. only one THING per poster (or, if you must, you can have more than one but they must be on separate posts).

My thread. My rules. No arguments.

Right, I will start:

I do wish people would spend more time reading than posting. So often you have a thread (quite often an AIBU) where someone says "I haven't read the thread but YABU" or more often lately the highly unnecessary YABVVVVVVVVU when the thread has moved on hugely since the op, the arguments have all been had, everyone has bitched and moaned, made up, had a cup of tea, done a bit of ironing. If there is a slightly sparky looking OP and hundreds of posts on a thread, why not take that as a clue that the thread may well have moved on, questions asked and answers given, and read before you post?

Someone suggested recently that the OP's responses could be highlighted (as the guest poster on a Web Chat is) so that it is easier to see subsequent posts. I think that is a great idea.

I haven't read the thread, but would like to talk about verruca treatments and extended breastfeeding.

An end to the piss off to Netmums type replies. Is mean and dull.

Marne · 19/03/2010 16:38

I hate AIBU threads, i always regret starting them as they get very bitchy.

So less bitching would be nice.

I also hate the fact i get judged by my poor spelling and (lack of) punctuation. Just because i can't spell it doesn't mean i am a thick working class woman with a poor education.

I feel better now, thanks Riven for starting this thread .

Stop the Troll outing!

Find it so annoying when posters keep trip-trapping and announcing howwwwwwwwwww suspicious they are.

etc.

Ignore thread or contact mnhq or give benefit of doubt since could be genuine or may actually help someone else wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwho isn't the (suspected troll) OP.

ShowOfHands · 19/03/2010 16:40

Friday night topic.

Delicious irony of having a feminist topic but we're not grown up enough or empowered enough to have a sex topic.

DebiNewberry · 19/03/2010 16:40

And yes, less of this it's my thread and my rules.

Hullygully · 19/03/2010 16:40

There isn't nearly enough nudity and free love.

And there should be free gifts.

CrushedWithEyes · 19/03/2010 16:41

Oh, and a newwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww computer wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwithiut a broken wwwwwwwwwwwwww key wwwwwwwwwwwwwould rweally improve my Mumsnet experience ;)

GypsyMoth · 19/03/2010 16:41

A tick box down theside of active convos , like in emails, so you can tick tick tick the threads to hide quicker than individually!

DebiNewberry · 19/03/2010 16:42

That's a good one!

GypsyMoth · 19/03/2010 16:42

Did that make ANY sense??

Maggie00 · 19/03/2010 16:42

We should be able to delete our own posts.
