You know what I want. Enough with the delayed gratification.

I will not be moved. I have a banner.

Do it.

Troll Magnate

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 05/02/2010 08:40

I did notice the troll magnate too, but didn't want to comment in case Justine sent me to the naughty step with all the wierdies. At 45 years old, I'd have been there ages!!

Shoe magnate

Radished · 05/02/2010 09:38

Surely attracting the Troll Magnate would be a good thing, because he could control all the other trolls and persuade them to go elsewhere. We could have a webchat with him and I'm sure he'd be reasonable.

It seems kind of sad that grown women can't have a sex topic because it might attract the Wrong Sort. Says a lot about attitudes to sex and women really.

JustineMumsnet · 05/02/2010 09:42

I've no idea what you're talking about but I like this magnet kitchen

Umami · 05/02/2010 09:47

Justine's fridge

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 05/02/2010 10:10

I wonder what sort of biscuit the Troll Magnate likes??

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 05/02/2010 10:12

According to the urban dictionary, troll biscuits are:

"n. Little processed "you-don't-really-know-what's-actually-in-there" breaded chicken bites, which are then deep fried and served to millions upon millions of trusting customers across the land."

She's probably eating chicken nuggets with the Troll Magnate.

ShowOfHands · 05/02/2010 12:05

I'm still cross you know.

I don't actually want to create more work for MNHQ you know and am sorry that it already has with people emailing you directly to say they don't want a sex topic. Interestingly, only 2 people said that on here and nobody on the other thread I started. So, having no idea what they said, I can only respond with 'no they didn't, it isn't like that and they're all wrong'.

I genuinely don't see the attracting weirdies thing. Because of everything I already said. They're here anyway, this isn't a weirdy topic it's a genuine topic for consenting women who are old enough to be able to talk about sex with each other but sensitive enough to understand that perhaps others don't want to see it or it isn't necessary to splash it across the entire website.

And I know bugger all about internet law and procedure but it does strike me that if having a dedicated topic means that you have to add filters then aren't we in a strange loophole here? Because the threads are already there, the content is already sexual and graphic, yet we don't warn for it atm. And I've never had an adult content warning for Netmums and they have the topic. It's a bleak day when they are more progressive than we are.

It is ridiculous that we can start threads with whatever profanities we like, describe whatever sexual scenarios we like, link to any old image we choose to but somehow it's the putting in its own topic that is problematic.

What if it was 'Sex, health and contraception' like Netmums? Because actually there are oodles of contraception threads too, as well as sexual health threads. Would the amalgamation make it more acceptable to you? Journalists less likely to titter about a dedicated sex topic if they could see it was a serious topic that pertains to us all. Which is what it would be.

And oh but magnate was the only typo. I was going to start a new thread campaigning for members to be immediately banned as soon as one post contains more than 3 spelling or grammatical errors but we'd have to lose our dear leader and the esteemed cdo (sic).

I'm so cross I can't type.

And I looked at a picture of David Mitchell this morning and felt no stirrings.
