My DD would give you a really good view of why a toddler book was sooooo needed.

And my DS would give you reason to commission a "why boys of the age 6 to 10 are too sensitive and hard to deal with"

JustineMumsnet · 05/02/2009 22:19

I don't need a better view Benny - I have a perfect example of my own!

Now come on who's joining me outside Waterstones with placards? (Forget the interview and bring the kids?)

Noooooooooo - I have just been made redundant and am moving down south just so i can come to the london xmas party because that is where Dh has been moved to

I need the job

And I have bought the book {winning }

hunkermunker · 05/02/2009 22:37

Why did you do the toddlers one before the pregnancy and babies ones, Justine?

I haven't seen a copy of the Toddlers one, but will have a look when I'm near a book shop! Sounds good.

BennyAndJoon · 05/02/2009 22:41

Hunker it is good

It captures MN really well - apart from the hard-hat-wearing kicking off thing

hunkermunker · 05/02/2009 22:44

Can't understand Waterstone's not stocking it though - just the Oxford Street one, I take it?

LOL at the hard hat stuff being captured in a book - that might make the place look mental

BennyAndJoon · 05/02/2009 22:49

haha - you mean because it is?

it is Good imvvvho

Cloudhopper · 05/02/2009 22:51

I saw the London Evening Standard column, which reminded me of the book, so am intending to buy asap!

woodenspoon2 · 06/02/2009 09:45

I can't believe it. Amazon censored my glowing review because I complained mildly that there weren't as many knob jokes as had been led to expect. Will have to write another one...

DanJARMouse · 06/02/2009 11:52

i have just ordered the book - wait in anticipation!

WilfSell · 06/02/2009 13:55

rofl at Lemur's 'sausage roll' reference in the review.

There's going to be lots of 'code words' in them I suspect.

WilfSell · 06/02/2009 13:57

ahahahahahaaaaa

someone at Amazon has a sense of humour.

Do you, too, have the 'buy these two together' suggestion as Potty Training in One Week by SWMNBN...?

DanJARMouse · 06/02/2009 15:02

saw that wilf - thought it was very amusing!

stealthsquiggle · 06/02/2009 16:44

MP are you running a lookup service here?

Am I in it?

Only if I am I will have to buy it, even though DH doesn't (and never will if I have anything to do with it) know my MN nickname, and in spite of the fact that I have not even opened a childcare book since I had DD even though I had loads several for DS.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/02/2009 16:53

Mine came today and it's fab. Well done MNHQ and morningpaper for your efforts as others have said it's really caught the feel of the place and makes for much more interesting reading than all othermost parenting books

Can't wait for the others...well maybe not pregnancy; think I've had enough of that for one lifetime!

JackJacksmummy · 06/02/2009 18:05

Got mine this morning, only had a chance to read the forward but was laughing by the end of that so am really looking forward to reading more later

morningpaper · 06/02/2009 19:50

Hooray! I can't believe none of you hate me it yet

LackaDAISYcal · 06/02/2009 20:27

DH was looking at it in an "I'm pretending I'm not really interested but actually am" fashion earlier. Bloody hope he doesn't start MNing though!!

whitenoise · 07/02/2009 12:42

When the quotes are in have they used peoples nicknames?

NAB09 · 07/02/2009 13:28

My local Sussex Stationers has the book in (2 copies) but Smiths and Waterstones didn't.

email back from Waterstones online today: they say the book will be back in stock online from 18/2/09

PortAndLemon · 07/02/2009 19:39

Benny -- do you seriously want someone to keep an eye on your kids on Wednesday 11th while you have your interview? Because I could, in principle, although obviously you've never met me before and I might sell them off to chimneysweeps as apprentices or something, which Justine wouldn't. Or not on her good days, anyway.

(wasn't sure if you were just being lighthearted or if you were really completely stuffed for childcare)

Pablop · 08/02/2009 11:09

I ordered it online at Waterstones last week and they are out of stock! Grr I have no patience and do not want to wait until 18th, can I get it anywhere else?
