I have gone to customize, chosen MN classic, clicked save etc and I still have this set up which thank you very much is not for me right now. PLEASE help as this is ruining my relaxing breakfast over MN while DS watches Thomas time! [panic emoticon]

Don't like this at all. Have tried logging out and logging in again, but cannot get Classic back, and that is what I want.

TBH, I don't know why the message board needs to be changed. It works and people like it. Everytime HQ tries a 'new look' people howl, and they revert back to the original format.

This does not seem like an improvement.

Now having checked the 'Site stuff' topic, I see there are thousands of posts and dozens of threads. Don't feel inclined to spend hours trolling through trying to figure out how to 'fix' this, or if indeed it can be 'fixed'.

Feel very grumpy about this. With all of the recent upsets on the site, this does seem a badly timed test of loyalty.

I have come back to see what it's like, and think I will be leaving until/if it gets changed back, or we at least get a proper "classic" option.

It's just not worth the headache, I've been on here 5 minutes tops and my eyes are hurting.

Having said I was coming round to it I have just gone onto Isketch for a bit then come back and the difference is startling! I can feel my eyes straining and a headache starting...

On the plus side I suppose I will get more housework done

Come on Tech, you promised us we could have the classic version if we didn't like the new one - where is a proper classic version please? (or at least when will we be getting one?)

Stretch - its hurting my eyes I think because the text is so pale - I think its the contrast between colour & background. I've set to classic & now have a large margin at one side??
I hoped when I logged on today it would be back how iit was & yesterday was all a horrible dream....

That's what it reminds me of - there's an optical illusion where you look at the spaces between shapes & they seem to spin

I don't like the "new classic" either. I know that I'm really old, but the writing is tiny. Please can I have the website that I can actually read back please?

If the text is too small then use zoom in your browser.

Zoom is a good idea if it works for you. It won't on my IE6 on MN. It did before and on most other websites.

The margin one one side is a temporary thing by Tech to see if it helps people who are currently having to scroll across to read the end of posts & whether people prefer it to having margins both sides

well....the posting part I was able to make look reasonably normal again...tis just a bit brighter than it used to be...

however the topic list is so bad...much harder to find what you want...

I don't know why they need that pale blue, it's makes it soooo bright - hurts my eyes, think I might start wearing my sunglasses

I set it onto a darker middle blue

it's a double edge sword as then active convos is hard.

i didnt have a left hand margin ,now i do ! and the sentences are still ending off the page on the right

I have tried everything and I can't get MN classic back and now someone has pointed out that the ends of the thread titles are chopped off so you can't see what the threads are about. It's taking me ages to find and read stuff. It's just not worth it.

I can't stand this, I'm leaving.

The threads start half way down the page aswell because of adverts in the way

And....I only have 15 showing in active convos because there is an advert at the top of there aswell taking up all the space! (I've checked my options under customize and i have it set for 50 in active convos!)

TequilaMockinBird try selecting MN New in customise then saving, then customising again to how you like it - should sort out the ads pushing things down the page.
