I CAN NOT GET MN CLASSIC BACK AND I WANT IT

hereidrawtheline · 30/01/2009 08:30

excuse me for shouting

I have gone to customize, chosen MN classic, clicked save etc and I still have this set up which thank you very much is not for me right now. PLEASE help as this is ruining my relaxing breakfast over MN while DS watches Thomas time! [panic emoticon]

Agree Kay: I HATE that you can't see all of a thread title. So many longer thread titles are well composed, and that is all lost now.

That's my biggest grudge.

bluebump · 30/01/2009 10:36

I've had a fiddle with it and i've managed to get spaces between each post and no adverts to scroll through which is good but my watched threads have gone and my links don't go purple either. It's not too bad though actually, it just seems quite bright but I can't figure out if that's the changes or if i'm a bit bleary eyed this morning!

littlelamb · 30/01/2009 10:36

Hate it

catsmother · 30/01/2009 10:36

I agree with Kay about having to click 'See All' etc., but, the really big thing for me is that the text is far too small to read comfortably, and that in iteslf, also makes browsing extra difficult.

Please give us the option to go back to old style .... the option in Customise for "Classic" doesn't change the size of the text.

I surely can't be the only one who's finding it physically hard to read threads now (never mind font type, colour, different links etc)

Fimbo · 30/01/2009 10:39

I do wear glasses but I am really really struggling with the font but then maybe its a good thing as I spend far too much time on here. At the moment I don't think I could last more than about 20mins

KayHarkerIsNotAnAuthority · 30/01/2009 10:40

No, I'm finding I have to scroll across the screen to read a longer sentence. Might come back in a week and see if it's been sorted.

Don't mind change just want it to be happy-making change, not 'oh, sod, that's beggered up my nice chilled out morning, I can't find anything'-making change.

Threadworm · 30/01/2009 10:42

I've just checked the preview message tool and it doesn't let you see where your thread title will cut off in active convos -- so you can't even compose a title to minimise the bad effects of the cut off. That's reaaly annoying.

IdrisTheDragon · 30/01/2009 10:45

Is more spaced out now I think. But I don't like threads I'm on. Humpf

ruty · 30/01/2009 10:46

[looks enviously at Swedes' rather daring bodywarmer]

peanutbear · 30/01/2009 10:47

OMG what has happened here help me my page has ads in the middle of things and the writing and boxes have shrank!!!!!!

IdrisTheDragon · 30/01/2009 10:48

Bother have clicked something else and now Active Conversations looks a bit better but the thread itself is squashed.

(moans about lack of penny sweets)

LilRedWG · 30/01/2009 10:49

Glad it's not just me.

mummylin2495 · 30/01/2009 10:51

and i dont like it either as if there is a long sentence i now have to scroll across the page to see the missing words.I want it back to how i had it before !

TeenyTinyToria · 30/01/2009 10:54

I want it to look longer - it's all squashed up. I liked having the text up against the left side of the screen, now it's all in a block in the middle, even in Classic.

tiggerlovestobounce · 30/01/2009 10:55

I cant get classic back either . This new layout is rubbish.

Ingles2 · 30/01/2009 10:56

Aarggghhh
I can't read the thread. it's all too close and squashed
I feel SICK (seriously)
How do I space it

peanutbear · 30/01/2009 10:57

arghhhhhh I cant make it work!!! strop I have changed to mumsnet classic and the topic words are tiny and it doesnt look much different

please help!!!!!!!!

GrapefruitMoon · 30/01/2009 10:58

At the moment "New " mumsnet looks better than classic for me....

Ingles2 · 30/01/2009 10:58

I've done it! Click on the colour options in customize. choose mumsnet muted

TeenyTinyToria · 30/01/2009 11:01

Oh god no Ingles! Now it looks like Bounty, only really pale so it's hard to see where the colour bars are.

Ingles2 · 30/01/2009 11:02

is it? never been on bounty so I don't know, but at least all the posts aren't all squashed up

Gorionine · 30/01/2009 11:03

Has any of the ones who keep on reminding us about the "customize" actually managed to get back to the old display like this? I have tried about 10 times in the last hour and still am not getting classic back!

Can anyone who managed to do it write a step by step method that actually works for thick people like myself?

TeenyTinyToria · 30/01/2009 11:03

It's the fact that each thread in Active Convos has it's own little box, just really annoys me and I find it hard to read.

TeenyTinyToria · 30/01/2009 11:06

I have got semi-classic, but the posts still start about 2 inches into my screen rather than right over at the left hand side.

I still have silly bullet points on all the threads and posts in Active Convos and Threads I'm On, and the colours are a bit weird, very blue.

I think the actual threads would look ok if they were a bit further left, but it's the rest that's weird. My eyes are actually hurting now because it's so pale and shiny.

Gorionine · 30/01/2009 11:25

I have got that:

$sharedBlock.render("Mumsnet latest") $sharedBlock.render("Standard MPU") $sharedBlock.render("Advertorial-1")

on my 2I'm watching" on the right side, what is it?
