Are you gonna do anything about it? Like, i know the line is that shoving the madness in the feminism board means it's not transphobia. And I know it's been done to death but I'm sick of it. It's not acceptable. Xenophobia, racism and homophobia also increasing.
And no. I won't leave. This is the biggest forum of its kind and it needs to represent and respect us all. And care that it's not.

Just like it‘s not islamophobic to say you don’t believe in allah or the qu’ran. But if every time you talk about Muslim people you start banging on about those rape gangs or poke fun at the hijab, that’s Islamophobia.

But the point is that man was a rapist. If he hadn’t had access to a single sex ward he would have raped someone else another time. Or just gone into the single sex ward - they aren’t locked.

Trans women are men who say they are women.

If men being housed with women is not a problem, why do we split the sexes in prison in the first place?

But gay men aren't replying "we WILL have a baby just us you MEANIE". They aren't thinking that in the first place, so nobody needs to point this out. Lesbians get on with it and find a willing male friend or a sperm bank. They don't need anyone to tell them the biological realities.

Why have single sex wards at all then? Why have single sex anything?

But plenty of mumsnetters have big issues with gay men having a baby, whether through adoption or surrogacy.

The point is that NHS staff lied to the police for a year that there was no man on the ward so there couldn't have been a rape.

They lied because they had been told that they could not say that the man was a man

I googled it. One woman. She won her appeal.

No they buy babies through surrogacy or get them through adoption even though they have loads of red flags, social workers and medics know something is wrong with a child and yet nobody does anything because they fear being called 'homophobic'.

Again, this does happen. Recently two men were jailed, one for life, for this exact situation.

And yet her release was still delayed.

There are more examples particularly in the USA.

There is a reason we have male only and female only spaces.

You realise we dont have single sex loos to protect us from rape, right? It's just meant to afford some semblance of privacy by ensuring that only people from the same sex see and hear what you do while in the bathroom.

A lot of the single sex stuff we have is a hangover from victorian morals. I personally don’t believe having mixed facilities would make people less safe. I just don’t believe crime works like that.

But I'll just say: standing up for women's rights isn't transphobia. The cry of "transphobia" comes from men who haven't got any argument apart from "I'll try to silence you by accusing you - without proof - of a phobia."

Going back to the topic of the OP....

Yes, there absolutely is a problem with racism, homophobia, ableism, transphobia etc on MN.

I've seen posts left standing which categorise immigrants as backwards savages, the disabled as scroungers, gay couples as "not natural", Muslims as paedophiles, and trans people as predatory fetishists (not "just" saying TW are men) etc. When they're reported, MN says "they prefer these to be robustly challenged on the thread". It's lazy and shit moderation.

I don't know if it's because of ideology from leadership or because hatred and outrage generate more clicks and more money. Probably the latter.

It won't stop until it massively backfires on them, for example if someone in the public eye sues them. There was an awful incident last year or the year before where FWR went after a female runner because they saw an unflattering photo of her while she was running and decided she must be trans (she wasn't, she was in fact actually female and a mother of four children as I recall). Apologies were posted but the whole incident has been scrubbed from the site.

One day MN posters will go after the wrong person for whatever reason and MNHQ will be in the firing line.

So we can't argue our rights are being violated when they treat us inhumanely. If they thought men were a real threat to us and that mattered, they wouldn't have male screws.
