Xenophobia, homophonic, transphobia

spstchmu · Today 01:52

Are you gonna do anything about it? Like, i know the line is that shoving the madness in the feminism board means it's not transphobia. And I know it's been done to death but I'm sick of it. It's not acceptable. Xenophobia, racism and homophobia also increasing.
And no. I won't leave. This is the biggest forum of its kind and it needs to represent and respect us all. And care that it's not.

Yes it was, but I have neither the time or the inclination to reply to you any more.

Take care.

You too, I hope you continue to have the spaces you need.

You'd be seriously hard pushed to find any in threads on the gardening board.

Or pretty much anywhere. Yet to see anyone state that they shouldn’t have the rights that they already have, like everyone else.

I don’t usually feel the need to specify, I don’t think anyone should have to categorise themself like that, but in this conversation it seemed like relevant info.

It’s gender identity ideology jargon.

AhhhSchtop · Today 13:17

All this ‘I’ve got a trans mate who you could never tell wasn’t born female (and is really lovely’ ) spectacularly misses the point.

Safeguarding and the provision of women-only spaces (hospital wards, prisons, rape crisis services, changing facilities, public toilets) for safety, privacy and dignity aren’t based on the premise that all men are rapists or that all trans people are a threat - but that all rape and the vast majority of sexual violence and sexual harassment are perpetrated by biological males. Laws aren’t made around your lovely trans best mate who can pass as a woman or your lovely husband who hasn’t got a bad bone in his body.

It’s really simple.

Exactly. Your Nigel isn’t welcome any more than mine is.

I don't want to see a strange women's vagina in a changing room either.

Well, you’d need an ultrasound probe or similar if you wanted to see beyond her VULVA.

Woeful lack of anatomical knowledge aside, I believe there’s a hell of a difference between not WANTING to see a woman’s inherently benign naked lower body and potentially feeling intimidated or threatened by encountering a man’s exposed penis in a space that’s supposed to be reserved for women.

Screamingabdabz · Today 13:25

Who now works with incarcerated women.

I volunteer for a charity that supports female prisoners with children so still have a lot of contact with current prisoners. None of them have ever raised this as an issue. I can list loads of other things, mainly barriers to healthcare

Most of them have probably not been locked up with a man though. And they’re disempowered to complain if they do. Of course other day to day issues are going to loom larger.

That doesn’t negate the argument that locking up bio males with vulnerable, damaged women is a recipe for disaster. Surely you can see this?

Read my posts and I have changed "vagina" to fanny. You knew what I meant though. No need for the condescention. Especially as I don't have an unhealthy obession with 0.1% of the population.

I don't NEED them. Can you show me the human right regarding changing rooms in a property you pay to go to BY CHOICE as a leisure activity?

Thanks.

I live in the back end of nowhere, I'd have to Google Xenaphobia.
Fear of the warrier princess?
You'd have to be 50ish to get that.
I'm going to Google.
I'm very LGBTITQ+ positive but new terms pass me by as I'm ancient

Ereshkigalangcleg · Today 13:36

straighttola · Today 07:30

If you really want to go into it, it’s that gender is a social construct defined by a load of absolute nonsense. Nobody is arguing they change sex, which is a different thing.

Why do they expect to be treated like the opposite sex then? Why can’t we say, “yes, that’s nice, you have a gender identity but you can’t come into spaces which are female only based on sex”?

Thinking people who are the same race as you are inferior because the live in a different country or come from one. Cultural rather than racist.

i inferred you need them for your activities as you don’t wish to use communal ones where you might see another woman’s vulva, right? That is what you said.

BeanQuisine · Today 13:38

Plenty of sex realism in Mumsnet, at least in the Feminist section, but no genuine "transphobia" (which is a term the trans activists use to describe the sex realist worldview of 99% of the human population).

The gender critical stance so often seen in Mumsnet is refreshing evidence that many women (and men) still care about the basic rights of women and children, and will fight to defend them.

I didn't know the male sex is only 0.1% of the population.....

Its not about .1% of the population (or whatever the correct stat is). Its about the 50% of the population who are men who are allowed to enter women's spaces once you get rid of sex specific spaces.

It's called the Equality Act 2010. And womens sex based rights.

Ereshkigalangcleg · Today 13:40

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · Today 09:32

Something doesn't have to affect me directly for me to have a view on it, @cannibalfish - and I abhor the trans ideology that says fully male bodied rapists and violent prisoners can self identify as female and demand to be housed - and locked up with vulnerable women. My concern is for the women who have been sexually assaulted by these men, not the men themselves.

I care about the dignity, safety and privacy of women in single sex spaces, and will not concede these spaces to males.

Very well said.

For someone who doesn’t want to discuss this any further, you’re spending quite a bit of time on your irrelevant comment about what type of changing room you personally prefer. Female changing rooms are for women and girls, not men, whether you use them or never set foot in them.

Sorry! I keep forgetting you don’t want me on this thread unless I agree with you. Lesson learned. Free speech for the few, not the many. Got it 👍

Ereshkigalangcleg · Today 13:46

Stop putting words in my mouth, I haven’t said anything of the sort.

Ereshkigalangcleg · Today 13:48

I have zero interest either way in whether you’re on the thread, I haven’t heard much in the way of insightful, rational argument yet from any of the anti women’s sex based rights brigade on this thread, you included. Just insults and whataboutery, and twisting people’s words.
