Yes they are. Some of the people most vocal about trans rights are women. In fact, the only people I really see talking about this issue at all are women. It's only here that I see a sizeable group of women, all in one place, and against it.

No, rape by other inmates and staff members who have no problem telling you what a man they are is of more importance to prisoners going by what they seek help for.

Totally agree. I particularly dislike the transphobia and the absolutism on the feminism boards. Human being are complex organisms and scientists have known for decades that sex isn’t always binary. DM was a researcher in a hospital lab in the 1960s and one of the things she was doing was looking at the chromosomes of people (not sure if babies, children, adults or all of them) in cases where it was not clear whether they were male or female. Apparently they sometimes had an extra chromosome eg XXY. I can’t remember what other abnormalities they found. Even when the chromosomes are normal-looking, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are other things that can go ‘wrong’.

Sex is binary, with variation within the sexes. XXY is Klinefelters syndrome.

The abnormalities are sex based, they are called Disorders of Sex Development. And there are only 2 gametes, there is no mystery 3rd, 4th or 5th sex or gamete.

And do not account for men who say they are women upon arrest just so that they get put into female jails.
