Site continually crashing and reloading

I am so utterly sick of this, it’s been going on for months but now it’s even worse, in the space of 15 minutes the site has crashed and reloaded 3 times, each time I have lost my post I was typing, it’s infuriating, I am on an iPad using safari. This has been highlighted by numerous posters time and time again and nothing changes.

I’ve been having the reload and sent back to the top of the page for weeks. I’m now getting crashes where the screen goes blank and it says SRCDOC in the search bar, and I can’t do anything else except to come out of MN

@BeckyAMumsnet @HebeMumsnet I’m not sure if the attached image will show it but one of the things I keep getting when it crashes is this blank page with “about: srdoc” at the top.

I get this a lot too.

This evening has been absolutely abysmal with slowed down typing and endless reloading.

Yet another lagging whilst typing and then a crash which deleted my lagged typing. Frustrating is putting it mildly.

This is absolutely diabolical this morning continually lagging with typing reloading & losing the post once again trying type quickly before the post is lost yet again 🤬🤬🤬

Yep it’s getting worse. I keep getting the about:srcdoc page now as well it the pages reloading. Mumsnet need to pay for more competent IT support if its taking this long to fix it!

This is what keeps popping up now every few minutes on the screen

I’ve noticed the thread is stuck and I can’t do anything. Until the top ad has loaded. V annoying!

Keep getting a problem with the Paramount advert today - it keeps covering the whole screen, or the left hand side of the screen, and there’s no getting away from it once it’s there. You can scroll and scroll, but it’s impossible to see any actual content and the thread is now unreadable.

The freezing has been really bad for me today, page completely blank I can’t exit or close MN down which is really irritating, any news on the “Tests” @BeckyAMumsnet

I use a different browser now, as Mumsnet crashed Safari every time. Today it’s counting 17 blockable issues every time it loads a page. 17 is too many MNHQ; it’s ridiculous.

Struggled earlier - could see about 4 posts on a thread then there must have been a big advert that wasnt loading up so blank screen.

Happens more and more... irritating MNHQ... it's irritating...⁰

Normally, I can't see what's crashing the site or stopping anything from loading

But today it seems to be a bingo advert.

basically, I don't think the site can cope with video ads. I absolutely hate video adverts anyway so I don't feel I'm missing out! My settings are configured so that it doesn't auto play any video - but some sites seem to have a way to override this and I guess this is one of them

Here’s four sites i’m on tonight.

Can you guess which site is trying to load SIX times as many pieces of redundant code as the others every time a page refreshes??

Just checking back into this thread to say as expected nothing has improved, I have to reload the site completely approximately every ten minutes, the site completely freezes and doesn’t load or half loads at best or I’m staring at a completely blank screen. It’s abundantly clear now that this is the user experience now and HQ basically don’t give a shit.

It’s amazing really.
Peiple bring those glitches to the attention of MN every week/day/year. And they never seem to rectify it.

I worked in a school. The IT system which was absolutely crap was better than this.

How come it never seems to get any better?

Still experiencing the same, continuing crashing/constant reloading & the bloody ghost typing has anyone at MN towers managed to get hold off an iPad/phone to monitor yet? Would be the simplest solution.

I was trying to read a now deleted thread this morning and it crashed 8 times in 15 minutes. Why? Why is this such a massive issue for so many users and MNHQ isn’t doing anything about it?

I also want my page numbers back! The stupid pink xx/xxx thing is ridiculous.

It’s constantly crashing for me today too and I’ve never seen as many video ads on one forum page as I have today! 😠

When crashing is mentioned, do you all mean this thing of "site is unresponsive - wait or exit"?

That's what it says for me anyway, and waiting never makes any difference; the only answer is to exit and re-enter the site, when it just happens again

Beats the hell out of me why this is only ever on MN and everything else runs just fine ... any suggestions @MNHQ ?

Sometimes I get a message to reload the page.
Sometimes it shuts down my browser.
Sometimes it even shuts down my device (Amazon Fire tablet).

I tend to have the screen zoomed in on the text, so I don't see what is loading or trying to load in the side panel.

I don't tend to get the same problems on other devices, or with other websites. But it has been happening on and off for a very long time on the Fire with Mumsnet.
