You might notice things are looking a bit different today. We’ve given Mumsnet a colour refresh, based on feedback from you in our surveys (thank you!).

We’ve also moved a couple of things around to reduce clutter and make things easier to find:

  • Watch now sits under the OP post
  • Report has moved into the meatball menu (the three dots on posts)

As ever, we’d love to hear what you think, so please share your feedback below.

So glad to see all the comments saying too bright and it's not just me

Happyapplesanspears · 18/09/2025 15:40

Bright light! It’s too bright.

WallaceinAnderland · 18/09/2025 15:41

Wait, I've just noticed you've added see all on the meatball menu.

Aw, just realised you need to subscribe to access this feature. Bugger.

Echoeingecho · 18/09/2025 15:41

It’s absolutely fine.

randomchap · 18/09/2025 15:42

Nope

Too bright

Report button now harder to find, and not obvious to new users

Just no.

randomchap · 18/09/2025 15:43

And my post is in pink. It does not look good next to the lilac. Ugh

Everyonelikecapybaras · 18/09/2025 15:43

Oh gosh that pink.

Did Mattel do this? These are really not pleasant colours for the eyes...

Biblio4 · 18/09/2025 15:43

The red box flagging each OP post is really distracting and annoying

Who wants random red boxes throughout a thread when you're trying to read it??

SparklyGlitterballs · 18/09/2025 15:43

I don't mind the blue of OP post so much - though I've had to turn down the brightness on my iPad. However my responses used to be green and now they're a horrid peachy colour which I don't really like.

SilenceInside · 18/09/2025 15:44

My eyes!!!

I don't like it. The contrast is too high, it's like websites from the early 2000s.

PencilsInSpace · 18/09/2025 15:44

I don't like it, the colours look cheap and nasty. I particularly don't like OP's posts in the same colour as the rest except for that big cluncky 'original poster' button thing.

It's too bright...

I see OP posts are now blue (mine were green), but what colour are MN posts now? (mine were blue) @LizzyMumsnet.

Also, did people really feedback that they'd prefer OP posts to be blue rather than green as standard? 🤔

TheDandyLion · 18/09/2025 15:44

The back arrow to the talk menu doesn't appear in dark mode.

Swandry · 18/09/2025 15:44

It’s giving me a headache. Is there any way to change it or tone it down? Otherwise I’ll have to stop posting here.

where’s report now?

Deadringer · 18/09/2025 15:44

Yeah it's too bright

SparklyGlitterballs · 18/09/2025 15:45

I've just been into settings and changed my colour choices.

BlackeyedSusan · 18/09/2025 15:45

Magenta is hideous. Please bring back lilac and the previous green.

Only the blue and magenta show up.on my phone.

Not at all impressed. There was nothing wrong with it before. Magenta is not a calming colour at all.

PencilsInSpace · 18/09/2025 15:45

I don't like my own posts being the same colour either, or the 'My posts' button. Why make them look like buttons when they're not?

RuttleTuttle · 18/09/2025 15:45

I don't mind change.

Does "Hide" now mean "Unwatch"?

Memeyoulater · 18/09/2025 15:46

The OP section needs to be in a bolder colour...er like it was green 😂
its all very similar & bright.

GeniuneWorkOfFart · 18/09/2025 15:46

Oh god change the colours back already please this is fucking ghastly

NoBinturongsHereMate · 18/09/2025 15:46

It's a bit too bright.

The colour contrast for the OP and my post shading is too faint.

And I hate the massive, very strongly coloured 'original poster' and 'my post' flags. If the shading hadn't been made.too pale to see there would be no need for them.

Needmorelego · 18/09/2025 15:46

It's too bright 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

GeniuneWorkOfFart · 18/09/2025 15:46

That shade of blue is vile and too bright, my posts are peach when they should be purple, and the pale grey for OP posts is practically invisible!

KelsCommemorativeSausage · 18/09/2025 15:47

Ugh.

Edited to add more words describing my disgust but couldn't find any so will just leave it at Ugh.
