You might notice things are looking a bit different today. We’ve given Mumsnet a colour refresh, based on feedback from you in our surveys (thank you!).

We’ve also moved a couple of things around to reduce clutter and make things easier to find:

  • Watch now sits under the OP post
  • Report has moved into the meatball menu (the three dots on posts)

As ever, we’d love to hear what you think, so please share your feedback below.

It's hurting my eyes. Is there any option to switch it back if we want to?

You can change the colours in settings but sadly the originals are unavailable.

Jennyginger · 18/09/2025 16:21

I’m quite new on here. Please could someone explain the difference between Save and Watch?

And where actually is the Homepage they are doing a survey about?? I just follow email links. Can’t see a Home link or icon anywhere.

I wish they’d do a guide for new users.

I like it. Can't people turn the brightness down if they are struggling?

Then the brightness is down for any other open tabs that don't need it as they aren't designed by a toddler with a set of highlighters.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 18/09/2025 16:16

Click on the 'person' to go to your account. Then the 'settings' cog. Then the 'more settings' dropdown, then 'talk settings'.

Thanks. I did click on ‘green’ for both op and my posts but appears to to no avail though. The OP’s remains pale blue and mine have gone a sort of washy tan (weird v pale green?) with the ‘my posts’ still a bright lilac. Really really don’t like how my posts are being made so obvious. Seems pointless.

That is not magenta, it's flesh (or blush if you don't want to boak)!

Magenta 😂😂

It's fucking PEACH like a 1980s bathroom suite, that's what it is

TeenToTwenties · 18/09/2025 16:23

What they all said. ^.

Exactly I need the brightness up in general but it’s the tonal quality of the colour is off.

whitewineandsun · 18/09/2025 16:23

The colour is so so bright. Dial it down a tad!

maudelovesharold · 18/09/2025 16:23

It’s lurid and cheap. If that’s the look you’re going for, then you’ve hit the mark!

Change2banon · 18/09/2025 16:24

I like it! I like the fact I can see my posts easily, which I’ve never been able to do before. I like that you can see OP’s posts all the way through a thread easily - maybe now threads won’t get filled up with rubbish from those who haven’t read all OP’s posts (and the thread has changed dramatically since the beginning).

DrBlackbird · 18/09/2025 16:24

@LizzyMumsnet Please remove the ‘my posts’! There is no need for it and it could disadvantage women who don’t want their partners to see their comments so readily.

RedNine · 18/09/2025 16:24

Too bright.

Powerof321 · 18/09/2025 16:26

Don’t like it (seems like changing for the sake of it) colour horrible & far too bright

Edited to add i don’t like the peach “my posts” either or the banner telling me it’s mine & the original post one too

That was always an option in settings. And still won't stop the people who won't use the 'see all' option on the OP's posts. One good idea could have been having that as a sticky on every thread!

AMuffinWalloper · 18/09/2025 16:26

Wow, that's garish. Also is the over emphatic sign posting to the original poster and my posts really necessary? Coupled with the constant videos, pop ups and equally glaring full page banner adverts, the whole Mumsnet experience is now like trying to read while a klaxon blares non-stop in your face. Not an improvement.

whitewineandsun · 18/09/2025 16:26

maudelovesharold · 18/09/2025 16:23

Yeah, the other colours were much nicer. Also why scream 'my posts'? I echo what others have said about that.

AAudreyHorne · 18/09/2025 16:27

It's too bright.

And strangley feels too childish ... it's like a reception class or soft play blue.

ProfoundlyPeculiarAndWeird · 18/09/2025 16:27

Meatball menu! GrinGrin

I don't have anything useful to add. I like the new colours though.

Edited to add: Ooh, I'm peachy. Haven't worn that colour since I was bridesmaid at my sister's wedding.Grin

TwinklyWrinkly · 18/09/2025 16:27

Absolutely awful. Change for change sake, please put it back.

NebulousSadTimes · 18/09/2025 16:27

I don't like it. It seems like change for change's sake. Or perhaps to get more users to engage by opining on the change.

DrSpartacularsMagnificentOctopus · 18/09/2025 16:27

It's far too bright. Active convos on mobile site is especially eye-hurtingly vision-impairingly awful. It is really unpleasant.

MrsMitford3 · 18/09/2025 16:27

MN how many people did the survey and how many active users are there?
Has anyone posting here done "survey" or been aware of it??

I think it is another case of change for change's sake.

Some of the colours are coming up as grey-ish and are indistinguishable from the background.

No need to put a big sign over Op post as it is highlighted so we all know.

Very annoying to be honest.
Are we paying to keep ppl in jobs to think up changes we don't want?😳

DrBlackbird · 18/09/2025 16:28

But we could always see our own posts easily by their colour being different from all other posters. We could also always see the OP’s posts all the way through by their colour also being different from all the other posters.

whitewineandsun · 18/09/2025 16:28

It's fucking PEACH like a 1980s bathroom suite, that's what it is

On point. What's the need?

Swandry · 18/09/2025 16:28

The big my post banner thing isn’t any good for people who are posting in a domestic violence situation or if they’re in a controlling relationship.

it’s putting them at risk @LizzyMumsnet
