Constant intrusive videos

These are driving me mad. I understand you need to sell advertising space, but on every thread there is a highly intrusive video. Even when I close them down they reappear on the same thread! Surely once a user has closed the ad that should be it?

Christ yes, I came here in the hope that I wasn't the only one. I know MN needs to make money but the ads are so intrusive and they just don't stop. And, if I'm on my phone, the ad comes up at the top and clicking the 'x' often takes me to the top of the page so I lose my reading place.

Make it stop, MN, please. There's a difference between ad revenue and driving everyone away. The daft thing is, I close the ads so quickly because I find them so intrusive that I never see what they're for anyway.

Nearly 15 hours since the thread started and still no response from @MNHQ.

And those videos just keep on popping up 😡

Disappointing.

Safari on iPhone, posts keep jumping then freezes. I have to refresh page then it happens again.

It's completely awful and makes me want to stop coming here. Plus it has the opposite effect that advertising is meant to. Why would I give any money or time to whatever brand is intruding on me with these shitty video ads?

Is this the ones that drop down from the top? Oh they can piss off. I know MN needs to make money and I accept that advertising is the best way to do that, but those ads are too far.

I am really, really fucked off that MN has been shoving gambling promotion adverts in our faces.

I deleted them and they kept coming back.

I’m on my phone right now on safari not the app. It is getting ridiculous. The screen is not advert had content with both the inline ads and now the videos

It hasn't stopped for me; there's a very irritating video ad at the top right of the screen. It's only small but it's annoying and distracting

It's certainly much improved over the last hour or so

Mainly happening on Chat now - doesn't appear immediately, doesn't last as long, goes away if click X etc

I am getting the videos also and they are really triggering my photosensitivity I press the cross and they won't go away.

I'm using the mobile website on Chrome on a Samsung A57 and never get ads which cover the content on here.

I'm having the same issue. It's like reading articles on those terrible local newspaper pages run by Reach. I suffer from vestibular migraines and it's very triggering for dizziness. Please stop MNHQ!
