MN constantly freezing and lagging, and unresponsive links.

This has been an issue for a few weeks now in a bearable way, but it’s getting a bit worse lately.
Sometimes it appears to be adverts slowly loading and once they’ve appeared the site works again, but sometimes it’s stopping completely and nothing on the screen works at all and I have to swipe safari away and begin again. This isn’t happening on any other website.

I’m in the mobile version on safari. I’ve cleared cookies. I’ve turned my phone off and on again.

Just been on the fake virus checker thread - approx 15 blank screens before giving up, in the 8 mins I was on there...

This is worth a check, sorry if not helpful, but it was driving me crazy last week, the slowness of it all - so nearly at the point of throwing my iPad out of the window! I googled ‘why is safari running slow iPad’ and it advised the following which I did and it worked! Worth a go if it helps any of you!

I haven't read the thread, but adding my voice to the complaints. I've switched to the app, which is less considerably poorer than the mobile site, but at least doesn't freeze all the bloody time.

I did that. No difference.

iphone. Safari. All up to date.

sorry - that was to let mumsnet know that I did try @Move22 ’s suggestion and I’m annoyed about it because it also cleared out a lot of useful stuff

Oh, FFS. The app is not as good as the mobile site (when it's working), not 'less considerably poorer'. As you can see, since I I can't find how to edit!

I've done that before, but I shouldn't have to. It is a MN issue, and they should resolve it.

I won't be deleting my history, and I deliberately set my profile to view all replies on one page, so won't be changing to have pages.

I get the glitch on the Active threads page, also. Tap on a thread, it refuses to load, glitches, then loads a thread I didn't tap on.

It is a bit much!!
We are the ones who create the content which earns the advertising revenue for mumsnet (i.e we are the 'product' which MN is selling)
And now we have to do extra work to make sure the site works properly so that we can create the content🤪
Mind you I am glad it's not just me- I thought my computer had a virus 😬

I’m also getting really fed up of this. On iPhone, safari - everything updated and I’ve tried clearing cache etc but still getting lagging and freezing. Very frustrating!

Mine is also getting worse. It's been almost unusable today. Even active threads is going white now.
No other sites, just Mumsnet

It’s taken me lots of goes just to post this. I wanted to read the traitors thread but it’s impossible. Pretty much given up now, it’s a shame but the site is basically unusable.

I have also had these issues for a while, but for the past 24 hours the site has basically been unusable. Everything is freezing. @mnhq is there any update?!

I can't get on MN on my laptop (Windows 11) on either Edge or Chrome. Only on my phone

Hi everyone. We're so sorry that some of you are still experiencing issues with the site. We've posted this message on the other thread but we're just repeating it here too. It would be very useful for us to see the issue happening in real-time. If anyone would be up for joining a call with one of our developers and sharing their screen as they browse MN, it would be a massive help.

I get it too, I use Opera browser on the iPhone. The thread freezes and then starts manically reloading itself again and again. Makes MN completely unuseable.

The problem has been very clearly described many times & I can't see how a user sharing a blank screen with a developer would help. It's MN's website so it's MN's job to find a solution.

The site is virtually unusable and for the love of all that is holy stop asking for screenshots and videos it really does sound like amateur hour on here.
I don't get this on any other site.
This is your problem and one your no doubt well paid IT staff need to fix.
i suspect this is all down to overloading the site with ads
All a bit point less if the site is unusable

I'm going to be honest I feel a little frustrated that my response was completely ignored by MN so thanks for highlighting it.

As I said in my post I would happily agree to this but it's impossible to determine if and when it happens so a video call could last minutes until it occurred or hours where nothing happened at all.

I would really appreciate a response as to how seeing the issue occur on someone's device would be beneficial to helping to resolve the issue in a way that the problem being described in detail cannot?

It's improved a lot for me over the last couple of days, I don't know if MN have made any changes. But I've only had the frozen screen once since yesterday.
