To be bored of the trans hate?

1000 replies

DaisyUpsy · 10/07/2023 09:54

Ok, there are extremists (like the punch people in the face person), extremists can be found in many areas of life but is anyone else fed up of the trans stuff constantly being dragged up?

I've seen some ridiculous statements on here recently. Everything gets something added related to trans when it's totally irrelevant. It's getting boring. Trans extremists are not the norm so can we stop pretending they are?

Yep 100% . In real life trans rights are barely affecting anyone apart from trans . People just live drama and use it to feed their bigotry

I'm not talking about under 30's on AIBU.

I meant none of the under 30's I have in my life would support your way of thinking.

I was though so then why reply?

Crikeyalmighty · 10/07/2023 10:37

@DaisyUpsy totally agree- I have no issue with anyone who is trans but it totally dominates the agenda so many times - it's totally out of proportion .

NewNameNigel · 10/07/2023 10:37

Blossomtoes · 10/07/2023 10:02

That’s where I am too. There’s no nuance on either side.

Oh my gosh me too!

Both sides use hyperbolic language and extreme examples to dismiss the other. Both sides are ideologies but believe themselves to be the ultimate truth.
Both sides try to compel speech.

whodawhodaeho · 10/07/2023 10:37

There’s always extremes - on one end some GC people shouting that trans women are just fetishists and in the other trans activists screaming that anyone who is remotely GC is transphobic .
The reality is - most people live their life somewhere in the middle. The trans people who don’t think that trans women should compete in sport in women’s competitions for example .
Or the people who generally support trans rights but hate being called Cis or declaring pronouns.
etc

MN is an online forum therefore people come in here and say things they would never say face to face, that’s the reality.

sanluca · 10/07/2023 10:38

YABVU. I think your position is one I see in a lot of people who either know a nice transperson and extrapolate those feelings to every person claiming to be trans, or have not yet been negatively impacted by trans ideology.

It is a zero sum game: either women and girls are a different sex to men and are recognised as that in law and healthcare or they are not.

And anyone who says there is grey area, I ask what would it look like and how do we ensure women aren't negatively impacted when the grey are is taken advantage of.

booksandbrooks · 10/07/2023 10:38

YABU gender identity as a concept was coined by a paedophile who did sexually abusive experiments on children.

I think for most part so called 'transphobia' is genuine concern for the regressive and often homophobic nature of gender ideology and the untested medicalisation and sterilisation of gender dysphoric people. Nevermind the issues of silencing women advocating for their sex based rights.

MockneyReject · 10/07/2023 10:38

'Extremism' is built in to trans ideology.
It's not the exception; it's the norm.

You seem naive about where the 'hate' is actually coming from.

That’s fine, be bored.

And when you find a man with a dick in the next hospital bed to yours I hope you find that boring too.

When your friends 14 year old daughter wants to bind her breasts, be called a boys name and starts saving her pocket money for top surgery and non reversible drugs that sterilise her and cause long term painful health issues, I hope you just yawn and tune it all out.

When you sit on a jury in a rape trial and hear the judge tell the tearful , weeping victim that when she gives her evidence she has to use her rapists preferred pronouns to describe whatshe did with her penis, I hope you will be fully occupied with planning what you are having for your supper.

When you use a public toilet and find that someone has ejaculated their semen over the toilet seat, when you realise that all the winners in womens events at the Olympics are male, have been through male puberty and are setting records that no natal woman will ever be able to aspire to, when yet another woman is carried off a sportsfield injured because she has been tackled by a third rate male player who couldn’t hack it on the mens team but has found a niche on a womens team ……. well OP I just hope you have something interesting downloaded on your phone.

I am sure the vulnerable women in womens prisons, domestic violence and rape support groups, and womens refuges feel your pain too as they worry that the next person to come through the door is a convicted rapist in pink shiny leggings and a badly fitting wig. As do the lesbians who are told that not sleeping with trans women with dicks who say they are also lesbians makes them transphobic, as do the women threatened online and in person with violence and rape for standing up for your rights , as do the women hounded from their jobs for stating biological facts like, no, you can’t change sex.

But hey, lie back and enjoy life OP, it’s a wonderful world, if you are a man. And equality? Who wanted it anyway!

This is one thing you can’t lay at the door of “boomers”. My generation - or at least the cross section of it I know - is far less extreme and has much more sympathy with the trans community than our children’s generation. Which is ironic when we’re the ones who were in the trenches plugging away to get those rights that a pp said they were born with.

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 10/07/2023 10:38

There is a thread running now where people are saying trans women who chest feed need their hard drives checked

There are countless people on here who regularly try and imply trans women are sexual offenders

its disgusting

That’s because the transwomen who was chest feeding their baby on a bus also released pictures of themselves using nipple clamps.
It is also a fair question to ask if it is in the child’s best interest that this is happening when formula feeding is available - I had to use formula milk to some extent for my own children.
Even when using extremely high cocktails of drugs men can only lactate minuscule quantities and the effects of the drugs in high doses have never been tested on babies.

In this particular issue the man in question has a nipple fetish, this is evidenced by earlier SM posts of his.
However you look at it he is using a baby as a prop for his fetish.
Rearing a baby is about their needs. This is clearly running into dodgy ground, and people are weirdly supportive of it.

TBH lots of safeguards for children have been diluted or erased in the last few years, as queer theory (pro paedophilia) has taken hold of politics and therefore education and healthcare.

You're posting this today of all days? When a trans parolee incited a crowd to punch women in the face and the Met dismissed complaints? Really?

And the crowd cheered Baker on.

It's a feature of the movement now, it has attracted some very violent misogynistic men. The failure of the police to act, and the MPs who are 'both siding' this are helping create an environment where women will be harmed

senua · 10/07/2023 10:39

If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention.
This. Note that 'angry' and 'hateful' are not interchangeable words.

I thought you meant that under 30's are more open minded than the older generation. Trust me, many aren't.

BalletBob · 10/07/2023 10:39

Seeitsayitsalted · 10/07/2023 10:31

Of course I do, the stats are clear too

Why else do you think that the average age on AIBU is 55-60?

You think the age demographic of Mumsnet is based purely on attitudes surrounding trans issues in the last 5 or so years?

You can't think of any other reason why a website called "Mumsnet" which has been running for several decades might at this point have female users predominantly in the 30+, and even 50+, age bracket? Gosh what a head scratcher.

Just following because I'm interested to see if this thread gets shifted off to the naughty corner. Those started from a pro-woman perspective often do, even if the OP would prefer that they didn't.

Yes wonder if they’ll do the same for this.

whereaw · 10/07/2023 10:41

@NewNameNigel how is being critical of gender (which by definition is a social construct) an ideology? A sex based understanding of men and women is based on basic facts of biology.

Crikeyalmighty · 10/07/2023 10:41

@Proudofitbabe well said-100% agree.

I hate men with nipple fetishes putting their nipples into babies mouths pretending to 'breast feed' them, I'm not going to lie.

I hate girls having their breasts removed, I'm not going to lie.

I hate criminals [attempted murder no less] who were given a life sentence but released on licence, telling crowds in London to Punch a TERF, and who the MET don't bother even investigating as it's just women innit, I'm not going to lie.

I hate men who commit all sorts of sexual assaults being transferred into women's prisons, putting all women there at risk, I'm not going to lie.

I hate women being called any number of derogatory terms from Bonus Hole to Chest Feeder to Gestator to Birthing Parent, I'm not going to lie.

I hate to see women who requested single sex care being sent a man who says he is a woman, I'm not going to lie.

I hate to see women who are followed into female toilets at work by a man, and having to apologise whilst he records it, all for saying that the tampons are not for him, I'm not going to lie.

I hate Scottish Politicians going on protests and standing in front of Decapitate TERFs signs, I'm not going to lie.

To be honest, if you love all those things and thousands more, I think you need a word with yourself, I'm not going to lie.

This this and this!!!!

threecupsofteaminimum · 10/07/2023 10:42

The whole new ideology is ‘extremism’ though. I don’t know one person who had issues with transgenderism until recently. Transitioning children, abusing women for their views, people being told that they aren’t welcome in groups/companies/events for having anything that’s even deemed close to gender critical views. The underhanded grooming of autistic and traumatised young people online. The massive massive amounts of homophobia and misogyny that is being essentially celebrated in the mainstream. Literally questioning anything around recent trans movements is considered transphobia. Isn’t that in itself concerning

PRECISELY 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

AhDad · 10/07/2023 10:42

YABU I’m afraid. We need to protect WOMENS rights, and in the process realise you can put on boxers or a frilly dress, self identify as anything you want (a fish for all I care) but you cannot expect people to dismiss your biology and biological advantages and white wash your sex, especially for a man if you’ve gone through puberty and having the advantage of experiencing life as a man prior to trans life (male privilege, testosterone and common misogyny).

My main concern is children’s and women’s safety and a male using female spaces will never settle well with me.

I have worked with and supported many trans people (support worker) and truly believe (from experience) trans people need intense therapy for body dysmorphia and mental health struggles to find peace with their mind and most commonly sexuality.

Thelnebriati · 10/07/2023 10:42

What hate? If you find women's disgust at being threatened hateful maybe its a you problem.

PhantomUnicorn · 10/07/2023 10:43

yanbu.

i'm 42, and happen to have a social circle that ages from 21-60+ and i have a lot of Trans/Non-Binary friends in there. They're all wonderful people, non-extremists who just want to live their life in the body they choose without being hated or erased, and they don't want to erase my existence or sexuality either.. they're actually some of the most uplifting, supportive people i know.

The vitriol of extremism on both sides bothers me and them.
