Why are you allowing people to troll the Sex Board?

If it was any other board you wouldn't allow it.
If I went on another board and started posting recipes and taking the piss out of the posters I'd quickly be banned.
It is flooded with people trolling it.
Every single thread.
It's really horrible.
Take it off active or just shut the whole board down.
It's disgusting.

I think mnhq have really messed up here. I get that they may well have done this to increase clicks or traffic, but if it pisses off 95% of your users, they’ve massively misjudged it. I got the help with anal and fleshlight thread right in my face first thing this morning too.

They do have form for blatantly ignoring feedback, even when it’s overwhelmingly users saying they don’t like new features or changes. These little icons beneath each post that clog up the screen, everyone hates them, we gave feedback which was completely ignored. Hey ho.

Simple solution, just stop it appearing in active. I wish they’d listen.

FWIW I occasionally dip into reading the sex board (don’t post) and I’ve never seen anything I’d describe as pervy wank fodder, at least in terms of what guys are posting, and I don’t see the problem if people stay respectful and polite.

@C8H10N4O2 I actually deleted Mumsnet recently because of all this nonsense. Life is too short for bad feelings, you know. But then I missed the other posters so decided to come back. And it’s still rumbling on.
On other boards posters are dealing with dying parents and unwell children and here we are, moaning about whether it’s appropriate to see the word ‘fleshlight ’ and ‘rimjob’ on a sex board. It’s pretty silly really.

If you log on very early, Active Conversations is full of sex threads (God know what they're doing all night). Including this morning one called ANAL in capital letters. Those threads are full of wanking pervs. People are messaging each other off board. reducing the minimum length of membership to 7 days was also a huge mistake - and why, because for some reason MN decided to partner with a company that produces vibrators for vulva havers? MN has become a whole middle aged man's dream site which is just contrary to what MN actually is - a site for mums.

MNHQ should remove the threads from Active convos. That's all. They misjudged the strength of feeling amongst MN users.

The sex topic used to about sex, now it is sex.

Yeah I am wondering too if MN are really hard up. This really tarnished the brand.
I laugh at the few posters still seeing sites like MN as somehow better than Tattle. They are totally wrong.

For those using the app you can't presently hide topics from there but if you open the browser on the device your using and log in to MN.

Click on the blue head > settings > more settings > talk settings.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to hide topics.

Chosen topics will now be hidden when you return to the app.

I know you shouldn't have to and MNHQ have messed up badly but that's how to do it.

I hid the topic long ago.

You can, sort of, it's just not very intuitive on iPhone app. It's not in settings! It's in "mymumsnet" then scroll to bottom and click for additional settings then you may be prompted for password as it moves to the browser site and then scroll right to bottom for hidden topics and you can add it.

If the sec topic is being filled with trolls, maybe the posts about sex will pop up on chat/ relationships/ AIBU
It's a wonder there's so many parents the way people can't bear to even see words related to sex
It's easy to hide the topic just use a browser.
Also you can avoid reading threads by not clicking on them. Handy tip for ya

The sex board should be left for people to find independently rather than being made easier (for the majority of the posters on it who are nothing more than suspect sleazy perverts) to find.
