Huge ads not scrolling

Got a new one here, for me at least. Huge ads taking up top half of screen, I understand there are some pretty big ads but this one stays static and doesn’t scroll.

Once a scrolling ad appears, you’re left with an entire screen of advert as per screenshot

It’s exactly the same for me as for LarGoo. It’s not my phone. Other sites are working fine. It’s becoming very annoying.

@MNHQ...... the huge intrusive ads have gone, but WHY do I keep getting ads about someone called Anne Hegerty and Animals Australia???? Totally bizarre!

For a very long time I've also been getting the SAME video adverts about some guy preparing chicken, a woman making some kind of stew, and another featuring a blond mother and her two boys growing herbs. On and on, ad infinitum - and totally boring and devoid of any interest. Why? What's the point?

@PurpleDaisies I’m glad it’s not just me! It’s happening whenever I get to one of the embedded adverts (the big flashing ones that were causing all the issues when pinned to the top last week). May just give up with the site…

I’m glad the huge adds have disappeared but am also finding the site very laggy in the last 10 days -I see the OP but the rest of the posts are blank for 20-30 seconds while they load. Have closed down, tried my iPad but both are so slow (and not Wi-Fi - every other site is fine)

If you're experiencing a lag, the best thing you can do is clear your Mumsnet cookies. I was having similar issues not so long ago, and this did the trick. Can you give it a try?

I’m really ashamed to admit that not only do I not know how to do this, I don’t really know what it means!

Adverts ruining the site again.

No idea how to clear cookies either . What on earth has happened? MN is unusable!

Well I would send you pix of the problem I'm getting, but when I previewed the post with 3 pix attached, it wouldn't preview & I lost it.

What's happening is I get a big ad taking up the whole screen (not a video, or not running). I can scroll up & down & bits of the real MN appear but with bits missing in between. So I can e.g. pull down the very top of a normal MN screen, over the ad. This has only just started happening. Please don't let this go on as long as it did last time. I'm using a Chromebook. The ad is for a West Basin DryVent jacket.

Same. I'm on a laptop and can't see the original posts which defeats the whole object of mumsnet.

I started a new thread about these ads, and now I have found this thread. It's getting worse and worse - MN is more or less unusable.

The ad driving me mad, and covering everything, is for North Face outdoor clothing.

Happening here again today. Black ad telling me to rotate my screen to continue. When I do it’s a North Face Ad but it’s still covering all of the op and about half a page. Sorry was unable to get a screen shot but I’ll try if it happens again. On desk top so closed down & re opened & it’s gone, but it happened yesterday as well.

Using iPad safari latest version 15.4.1

On iPhone, go to settings - safari - advanced - website data. Then delete mumsnet.com. When you come back you'll need to log in again and accept cookies, but that's fixed it for me.

I’m not going to read the whole thread, but I’m using an iPad. A huge black section pops up, obscuring several posts with a sign telling me to rotate the screen. If I do, I can see the ad.

I read Mumsnet with the screen horizontal because the font is too small when I hold it the other way, so placing ads that force me to turn my iPad round to actually see the posts will rapidly make your platform unusable for me.

Hope you can get it sorted out.

Same - I just had North Face ads. Impossible to do anything. This started on Thursday, it's now (just) Sunday. Time to sort it please MN.

That has stopped and now there's this bloody awful pink flashing top and sides. The top says Just Premium. No clue what it's selling.

Better hope you don't get sued for causing someone to have a fit with all the flashing. It's ridiculous.

Got the same problem this morning, mn is unusable for me
