Huge ads not scrolling

Got a new one here, for me at least. Huge ads taking up top half of screen, I understand there are some pretty big ads but this one stays static and doesn’t scroll.

Once a scrolling ad appears, you’re left with an entire screen of advert as per screenshot

I have a huge Elemis advert taking up half my screen. I can’t scroll or read posts properly - very annoying.

It's a clear no to the cows and the loo cleaning!! (MNHQ)

Yes, me too. Makes the site nearly impossible to use. I have about 1 cm of screen that isn't advertising when I reply to a post. I came off last night because it was so irritating, went back on this morning because I forgot. I'm off again until it's fixed.

I am having this problem with my iPhone. Large pig? Apparently an ad for antivivisection group Animals Australia. Can’t close it, and it takes up half the screen.

I just had a huge Gwyneth Paltrow. Very disconcerting.

It’s fucking ridiculous.

I’ve got either a massive face of some beardy bloke from ‘US construction’ when trying to read ‘Feminism: Sex and gender’, and currently on this thread have two massive brown cows to contend with, plus other ads covering what’s left of the screen 90% of the time.

Interesting insights to your browsing history - the ads reflect your browsing history and what you Google / search on Instagram etc.

I use an ad blocker and don’t get any adverts, you can get them for mobile and desktop browsers. Try it!

My ad blocker stopped working when I updated to iOS 15 None of them work properly now, though they’re slightly better in Safari than off FB or Twitter. I HATE ADS

Still there, iPhone, safari. Makes MN completely unusable today, I have about a quarter of the screen visible. Off to find something else to read, what if I find that better and don’t come back?

Very interested to know if paid MN subscribers are getting this?

When I get to the massive advert in the middle the whole screen is adverts .

Dear me this is awful, it is making the site unusable.

I have a woman advertising Wheelie Bins

It’s almost impossible to type a reply, as when I click in the reply box, the top line and cursor is entirely covered by the ad, so you are effectively typing ‘blind’. Why is this happening? It’s really annoying.

Kind of glad it's not just me but it's massively irritating. And also ironic it's not doing it now I'm on this thread to moan

The ads are also completely useless, as you cannot see what they’re advertising! And if I could see, believe me, I would vow never to patronise that company again!

Can you let us know which devices you are using, which browsers, and versions of the OS?

It would also be really helpful if you could tell us whether the ads are appearing straight after the OP on threads, or midway through the thread.

It seems to be random @mnhq. Sometimes they’re there, other times not.
