Huge ads not scrolling

Got a new one here, for me at least. Huge ads taking up top half of screen, I understand there are some pretty big ads but this one stays static and doesn’t scroll.

Once a scrolling ad appears, you’re left with an entire screen of advert as per screenshot Confused

Morning Kim
I'm on the iPhone 7, through Safari.
The ad just appears as I'm reading, and takes over the entire top half of the screen.

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 08/04/2022 09:45

They pop up at different times then stick across the screen while you scroll etc below. Once up they don’t go until you click back or another button on the menu.

Thanks so much for this information - very helpful. We're working on this right now.

Those who are having this issue, please do keep letting us know the device/browser/OS you're on.

Smokeahontas · 08/04/2022 09:54

iPhone, happens on Safari & Chrome. 80% of pages, at the very top of the screen.

saraclara · 08/04/2022 09:56

Samsung Android, Chrome.

watcherintherye · 08/04/2022 09:57

I’m on an iPhone, Chrome ( is that a browser? Blush), 15.2.1. For me, the ads come on randomly and then are ‘stuck’ for as long as you stay on that page. They’re the size of normal ads., but they don’t scroll, and obscure the top line of the reply box, while you’re typing. When you go off that page, you have a period of freedom, until suddenly, there’s another ad. The ads are normal size - half a page - but don’t scroll, and seem to be ‘magnified’ so you can only see a close up picture.

GiantKitten · 08/04/2022 10:02

These aren’t legit MN ads at all, are they Hmm
Something dodgy going on.

iPhone 7+ on safari 15.3.1
This one just popped up right after (long) first post! Often it’s later in the thread though.

iPhone, Safari. The big ads are popping up while you’re reading the thread, so after the OP but they sort of pop up over the thread.

I’ve got the cows now, but had red cap woman before then.

Goodbyetowinter · 08/04/2022 10:07

I keep getting lung cancer ads. It says that I've shown an interest! Well my exH from 40 years ago has it and I really don't care as he subjected me to violent DA.

pennysays · 08/04/2022 10:09

Gah! It’s all so annoying especially when you’re then scrolling past another advert so 90% of your screen is adverts.

I’m on apple iOS 15.4.1 Firefox

Same for me (i-phone & safari/chrome).
SilverHairedCat · 08/04/2022 10:19

Android Samsung One UI 4.1. Chrome.

Basically every thread, every menu, every page. Getting very wearing.

Brideandprejudice · 08/04/2022 10:22

Came to post a thread about this and it seems I'm not alone.
All I can see is a pig or two cows.

WellThisIsShit · 08/04/2022 10:23

Yup, makes the whole site unusable, I’m coming off mumsnet until the ads are removed.

I was glad to find this thread as actually, I assumed mumsnet were putting these ads up on purpose, caring more about their greed than the people trying to use the site.

I’m still somewhat skeptical. Time will tell I guess.

iPhone 8, safari,

Lonelycrab · 08/04/2022 10:25

Yes definitely something dodgy about some of the links. A couple of them I put the url into google and it came up with nothingHmm

That seems a bit worrying.
