Huge ads not scrolling

Got a new one here, for me at least. Huge ads taking up top half of screen, I understand there are some pretty big ads but this one stays static and doesn’t scroll.

Once a scrolling ad appears, you’re left with an entire screen of advert as per screenshot Confused

I've got it using chrome on android.
Currently a couple of cows. I had feet and what looked like someone fingering a tub of vicks Hmm

I’ve got them right now on iPhone, Safari browser. Staring at huge ad showing two women on a cruise ship which doesn’t scroll. It’s infuriating and making the site unusable so won’t use again until it’s sorted.

Android Google pixel phone, chrome.

They are popping up halfway through reading a thread & then I can't get to the top of the page or scroll them or anything.

So glad some others have commented. I usually just ignore the ads as I understand that they are necessary to run a site but when the Obamas have obliterated half the screen, it makes it unusable.

As if to prove my point, I clicked on another thread about this and one came up, blocking the text underneath.

I have an ad blocker and browse with Duck Duck Go, how are they still getting through? They usually cover the text input box as well so you can’t see what you’re tying, making this site unusable! I’m r going to stop using this site soon if it continues, bloody frustrating!

Yeah it's too annoying now, I'm going to log out and see if it's still happening, if so I'm staying off for the rest of the day (as I should anyway).

I think it’s getting worse. I didn’t have them at all first thing and now they’re on every thread.

Even when they are small they still have a big grey box around them taking up half the page! I’m typing right now under the grey box and I can’t see what I’m writing! I’m coming off too until it’s resolved!

Such a useless advert too. No idea what it's for. Last one was a picture of a piglet. Site is unusable as soon as it appears.

A thread starts clear and then the pop up appears and ruins it. The posts are laggy and typing out things takes twice as long

Sort it out MNHQ. Please

Top half of screen is an ad for the Sun newspaper, which I would never look at, let alone buy.
Then half an ad for something, can’t see what.
Then ads roughly every two posts.
Getting silly now …..

Huawei, Android 9, Chrome (latest update)

Just went to check when it pops up and I have one on the talk > active page. When I go into a thread, the thread loads with a reasonably sized grey advert space at the top, and then pretty much straight away triples in size with the pig, or the cows.

It’s clearly happening across multiple devices and browsers so really not sure what the point is of asking what we’re using is. It’s a site issue not a user/device issue.

Given that we seem to be living in a world of targetted advertising, I am totally baffled by the HUGE and INTRUSIVE ads I'm getting...

Something about guess who Anne H is married to. I have no idea who Anne H is, the woman featured doesn't ring any bells, and in any case I couldn't give a toss and have never googled the marriage status of anyone at all, famous or otherwise.

I'm also getting adverts about Animal husbandry practices in Australia. I've never been to Oz and much as I care about animal welfare, I am going to focus on my own country before I worry about the other side of the world.

What the heck is going on, MNHQ ???
