Mumsnet not working on safari on iPad?

Chewbecca · 05/10/2018 12:27

I can open the site but can't click on any thread, on 'I'm watching' or, basically do anything.
Is it my problem or a site problem?

Any update MNHQ? It seems ludicrous that many iPad users can't access the site - or it freezes within a minute or so.

Every other website I use on my iPad, whether at home or elsewhere on free Wi-Fi, is fine.

This is getting beyond tedious.

SoupDragon · 15/10/2018 16:38

But not all iPad users. Which makes it odd.

MadisonAvenue · 16/10/2018 13:55

I’m still having problems with the site freezing. Any news on what’s happening?

Becca19962014 · 16/10/2018 14:23

I'm still having issues too.

SylvanianFrenemies · 16/10/2018 15:26

Another one with iPad issues. Is it anything to do with the introduction of a new OS version?

I haven't upgraded my OS and don't plan to, but wondering if mumsnet have made changes?

Chewbecca · 16/10/2018 18:28

I haven't updated to the latest IOS either and also don't plan to.

Oddly mn on iPad is fine if on 'mobile' but MN on 'desktop' is unusable, freezes immediately.
It's been going on for over a week now.....😡

JoggerBottom · 16/10/2018 19:34

I'm on Safari too - mobile and laptop - very, very slow.
I can reload a page but have to be super quick to click on a thread before it freezes.
Been happening for about 4-5 days. Angry

JoggerBottom · 16/10/2018 19:37

Posted too soon...
Site Stuff is loading great, but other topics are not. FWR is the slowest by far.

WhistlerGrey · 16/10/2018 23:35

Hi - also safari and iPad and iPhone using ‘desktop’ as I don’t like the mobile ap.
I can load the page but I keep being logged out. Every time I go off a page I have to relog in and it is so annoying.
This doesn’t happen on my MacBook - just the iPhone and iPad.

clary · 16/10/2018 23:41

Ah mums net is not working on my ipad either, didn't realise it was a general issue, thought my ipad was knackered. Everything else is fine on it.

Jackyjill6 · 17/10/2018 01:37

I don't know why MNHQ aren't responding, (la la fingers in ears maybe) but in the interests of sharing information with my fellow iPad users, I have realised that I don't have the problem late at night for some strange reason.

Chottie · 17/10/2018 01:47

I'm another Safari user with interminent freezing of MN threads. No probs at all with using any other site. Any updates MN?

AristotlesTrousers · 17/10/2018 09:27

The problem seems particularly bad this morning. Hardly getting onto any threads without the page freezing (took me 3 attempts of having to force a page shutdown to get here to post this).

Have had to re-download the app, which I've never really got on with.

ChocolateWombat · 17/10/2018 11:14

Mumsnet freezes if I am on a Talk page, by the time I scroll half way down.
Then I have to come out of Safari, go back in and close down all pages which are open (MN specifically) before I can look at any other site using Safari.....so MN is now interfering with my access to other sites as it is freezing the whole of safari.

This has been happening for a couple of weeks.

When will it be resolved please? It is beyond irritating and has meant I have not been using MN, when I am usually a very regular user.

Sunshinegirl82 · 17/10/2018 21:40

This is so irritating! I have to force safari to close repeatedly to get off the page when it freezes. It's been going on for a while now, any update on getting it fixed?

Knicknackpaddyflak · 17/10/2018 21:50

@MNHQ is any update yet please? This is getting really frustrating!

ILoveToLaugh · 17/10/2018 21:52

Me too! I'm surprised I'm managing to post this tbh!

LilyMumsnet · 17/10/2018 22:08

Hi all

We understand that this must be incredibly frustrating for all of you. We are still looking into it so we don't have any updates just yet but we're doing our best to get to the bottom of it and will post as soon as we know more.

BlueRabbitWasNaughty · 19/10/2018 08:54

argh, I'm still having this problem - I haven't been able to use the site properly for nearly two weeks now!

Chewbecca · 19/10/2018 10:16

It is frustrating, yes!
On the plus side, it is forced me to get over my dislike of using the app.

OP posts:
PinkBuffalo · 19/10/2018 11:45

It's really bad today. I can only read about 3 posts before it freezes

TofuCat · 21/10/2018 19:52

I miss mumsnet :(

MountainPony · 22/10/2018 09:19

This is doing my head in. It's been weeks now.

Is there any update on when this will be addressed?

Knicknackpaddyflak · 22/10/2018 09:23

This isn't going to be fixed, is it? It's like the last major mess up on the mobile site which finally most people managed to work around by installing ad blocker when it was clear nothing was going to be done about the ads causing the problem.
