get the buygger
we get poepel sayign " am i bein g unresonable to answer hte PHONE" that was a rela life thread fgs

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 09:17

I'm not sure what I think. There are more AIBU threads now there's a whole section aren't there? I always used to post on threads called "AIBU number twelfty million" but that was easy to do because there weren't that many.

I think I'm going to go and have a look at recent AIBU threads and see what I think. Bet you're all waiting with bated breath. Not.

Blandmum · 13/05/2007 09:20

4 of them are huddles together towards the bottome of the Acive THreads page. They are like bloody buses, huddling together for protectio

They are getting on my tits, if I'm honest.

And there do seem to be more of them. Many, many more of them!

If not got rid of, then at least give us some form of filter.

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 09:23

OK, I've had a skim over recent topics in AIBU. Random sample asks AIBU:

" to think that when I've been good enough to make dp a cup of tea even though I put the sugar in the wrong cup and he's using my cup, he should hurry up and drink it so I can have my mug back for my next cup?"

Wtf?

to expect Pizza Express to have a glass to fit my drink?

WTF?

in thinking ds (15) should wear a bloody belt as his jeans keep falling down??

to be fed up with schools 'withholding' their number

Again, wtf?

OK, I propose we just bomb the whole section and replace it with a LARGE notice saying fk off you whingers, get a life. Delete all the threads and jump on or ignore people who ask "AIBU expecting bears NOT to shit in the woods?" and the like.

LadyTophamHatt · 13/05/2007 09:24

God, there are DEFINATLEY more of them nowaday.

without a doubt.

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2007 09:24

I hasve to say though, there are a LOT of posts on most of the threads so someone's reading and replying to them.

foxinsocks · 13/05/2007 09:31

If AIBU wasn't there, I reckon people would be far too embarrassed to post some of the topics that have been in there.

mrsflowerpot · 13/05/2007 09:33

I vote get rid too.

I think it's making the whole place more argumentative - those threads are significantly more likely to kick off or inspire spin-off threads that then kick off.

DimpledThighs · 13/05/2007 09:49

yes - bin it I hate it!

Littlefish · 13/05/2007 10:03

Another vote for getting rid of it.

Blackduck · 13/05/2007 10:05

Either that, or can we have a 'without AIBU' tick box....

SoupDragon · 13/05/2007 10:09

Thing is, all these threads would have been started anyway but in "other subjects" or "chat".

Instead of "AIBU..." there would have been

"Why does my DS not wear a belt when his trousers are hanging down around his ar$e?"

"Why do schools withhold their number when ringing people?"

etc. The difference with AIBU is that it does at least give you the option to answer "Yes you are you sad person, get a life"

the tea/mug one is just too bizarre though.

Bananaknickers · 13/05/2007 10:09

yes get rid . I never post on them. They are just about bloody moaning.
I find it really depressing and to be honest has ruined mumsnet. I even asked if they would start a topic " something great happened to me today" but no. Seems mumsnet like moaning.
someone who has a real problem only gets some response while someone moaning about a baby eating a sausage roll gets hundreds of posts. I can't work it out and didn't think that this was what mumsnet was about. So yes get rid I hate it

Bananaknickers · 13/05/2007 10:11

god that was full of moaning wasn't it

Yes it did, but I think the number mushroomed once the proper section appeared.

Bloody hell Little Lapin, that's big for a rabbit

Flamesparrow · 13/05/2007 10:26

For those with "if you don't like, don't read" - it takes up half the boards!

i disagree that the posts would still be there - If I have posted on it just because its there, others must have too.

Completely agree with changing book club to "books" - and can films just be films rather than "reviews"?
