Why has Stratters been banned for reporting suspected Trolls as per MN policy?

SoPassRemarkable · 07/08/2017 10:23

Long standing, sensible poster.

Says she didn't troll hunt on the threads but reported. And has been banned for over reporting? Hardly her fault if there's lots of trolls to report?

Totally puts me off reporting any suspicions I have.

Yeah a bit weird! It was interesting until suddenly my name pops up and I'm being ever so slightly insulted. But that's the Internet and I've posted here so I guess I'm fair game. And I don't mean that sarcastically.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 07/08/2017 15:44

Reddit is hard to follow and bloody confusing.

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 15:44

You'll understand we're not going to go into detail about specifics

Yet you fucking well did about Anyfucker!

ArmySal · 07/08/2017 15:45

That's seriously 'off' if so OlennasWimple. Not cricket at all.

nachogazpacho · 07/08/2017 15:51

It's made me wonder if other banned posters are able to directly influence a MN user to say something to another MN user. I'm not going back on there but it said something like ' will someone tell that thick idiot I pm those posters months before'

OK. Message received Grin

Isn't it just! And I thought Twitter was difficult

Wondermoomin · 07/08/2017 15:56

I'm totally new to Reddit and struggling to find my way around but it's been invaluable in trying to find out what the hell's going on seeing as MN see fit to censor so much of what's on here. I've always thought the deletion messages were seriously inadequate and it seems now that the explanations for banning people are just as bad, if not worse.

And yes I agree they're absolutely shite at owning their own poor decisions and doing something about them.

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 15:58

Nacho, be fair Stratters if here would say directly to you

"Oi, youbthick idiot....."

She only directly insults people she auitd likes Grin

Run a mile if she's polite and measured though.

nachogazpacho · 07/08/2017 15:59

No, scrub that. That's going down the rabbit hole of Internet paranoia!

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 07/08/2017 16:00

Reddit is easy to follow if you find the order post button (well drop down options)

OlennasWimple · 07/08/2017 16:01

Reddit takes a bit of getting used to, but is useful for fast moving conversations with lots of different angles, as you can reply to specific comments rather than it all just being set out chronologically.

The big difference is that you can upvote and downvote posts, so when you order the thread by "hot" posts you get the ones that have been upvoted the most up front. It's often easier to order by "new" instead, so it is more like the chronological threads we have on MN.

Being able to edit is brilliant (note: Reddit netiquette is that you mark edited posts and say what you changed). Also being able to delete, either because you realise you have been an idiot or because your wifi has been an idiot and you have posted multiple times

I get they're frustrated at not being able to comment on their own thread. I'm not sure it was a compliment but I can understand the frustration.

nachogazpacho · 07/08/2017 16:08

I'm resisting the temptation to run over to reddit and moon stratters.

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 16:11

DO IT Grin

It must be frustrating though. I'm enough who has seen the emails issues by MNHQ over the last few months and they are certainly not professional.

nachogazpacho · 07/08/2017 16:12

Is this the future of mumsnet.... Lots of extra subreddits about deleted threads and banned posters? Or has this been happening already? Like one of those mirrors behind a mirror that goes on reflecting infinitely. I mean, it's interesting to have the more open discussion etc but it's a bit disconcerting.

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 16:13

She said said sorry . You DEFINITELY have to flash her now.

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 16:38

No she's aploygised directly to Nacho now from the other side

Saucery · 07/08/2017 16:40

I think it's better that way, Dixie. All open for everyone to see, so there's no rumours or untruths.
