You remember you were going to impliment all kinds of things, Message which explained posts were deleted due to disablism, Emails to the posters, proactive buzzwords...

a year on what has been the result of this massive change in moderation?

Now i'm not suggesting this was a carrot, dangled to try and stop people leaving....
But we donkeys ARE getting a little tired of walking and woudl like to know what plans are there for the future to stop attacks.

There's nothing amazingly hard about being able to create a new account. It's as easy as using a new email address.

JustadaftProfessor · 13/07/2017 14:26

I think it's someone targeting people in an attempt to shut down the SN support network we have here.

Why? I have no idea but there is certainly no place on the internet like it when it comes to actual support and it's been built by the site users, i can imagine some sick pleasure in some long term disablist poster picking it apart.

Dawndonnaagain · 13/07/2017 16:12

I find it sad that people feel the need to be so cruel, Professor.

JustadaftProfessor · 13/07/2017 16:28

Hopefully MNHQ will put more people on friday and the weekend during the trolls usual timeslot.

Dawndonnaagain · 13/07/2017 16:37

Diane About on online abuse.

youarenotkiddingme · 13/07/2017 17:10

Sorry Bishop I didn't mean my lighthearted sarcastic post to backfire with a pm about the free car.

And the troll is clearly not even knowledgable because if they were they'd know disability cars aren't actually free!

CrochetBelle · 13/07/2017 21:28

Not keeping up with this post, sorry, and not been on the SN boards for ages, because of this crap. Just sticking my head back in to support those who are being targeted by whoever it is doing this.
I hope MN sort it out PDQ.

zzzzz

I think it's a few things, Site getting hacked a couple of years ago, the fact lots of posters deregged last year over these disablist threads, The SNChat board used to be where the adults with SN posted, now it's more focused on the 'mumsnetters with SN' section.
Combine this with the fact that starting a group on facebook means better moderation and control of who sees your information and Mumsnet isn't looking the best place to chat anymore.

That would be nice tbh. But need to go to work.

Samcro · 14/07/2017 07:55

wow they get up early

ZZZZ i have been here since 2006. loved the sn topic back then and used it a lot. used to post lots about dd. stopped when I got attacked a few times by regulars.
now i never post anything much about her , seeing what has happened to dawn Im glad i don't.

JustadaftProfessor · 14/07/2017 08:00

It's sad, but it's easy to see why people are more apprehensive about sharing information.

Dawndonnaagain · 14/07/2017 08:07

Aww Susan, how nice of you. Your name isn't particularly good this morning, bad night?
As for standing up to hackers, we know you're not and we know you're not around to post during the day, so off you toddle and have a good day, love.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 14/07/2017 08:16

dawn

I think susan has been thinking of that name for a whole day...poor, poor thing

Obviously running out of alliterative names

I blame the British education system Sad

Samcro · 14/07/2017 10:26

"Rant alert"
I have to say I think mn reached an all time low
7 threads of people cheerfully discussing a child
making vile comments about brain damage. slagging of the parents and shutting down anyone who disagrees with their "better off dead" attitude
stalking people on fb and posting screen shots and all allowed to stand.

sick

BishopBrennansArse · 14/07/2017 11:05

Troll is running out of steam.
Piss poor 'bants' this morning.

Who gets up in a morning and their first thought is gotta troll Mumsnet!

WorraLiberty · 14/07/2017 12:30

The thing is, every time the troll has commented/sent nasty PMs, you've given them the 'air time' they're craving by typing it on here.

Quickest way to get rid, is generally to completely ignore in public and carry on reporting behind the scenes.

On the other hand when we don't nothing gets done and people like BitOfFun on the first page think were are making "stroppy-sounding" posts when we complain.
Sometimes it helps to show what is actually going on in order to get something worked out.

It's been going on for a long time, this hasn't worked.
