You remember you were going to impliment all kinds of things, Message which explained posts were deleted due to disablism, Emails to the posters, proactive buzzwords...

a year on what has been the result of this massive change in moderation?

Now i'm not suggesting this was a carrot, dangled to try and stop people leaving....
But we donkeys ARE getting a little tired of walking and woudl like to know what plans are there for the future to stop attacks.

Oops, I forgot to post my actual point Grin

Which was - surely mn should be persuing legal action against the individual to show that they are taking it seriously, so no one needs to report them for not taking adequate action as a business?

Polter · 13/07/2017 10:31

There is no sign of any 'tech savvy' though. It's easy to get a new IP address and throwaway email account to register.

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:33

well that's what HQ have said so I am going by that.

Anyway it doesn't really matter. No point in arguing between ourselves. Best to ignore them until they get bored tbh.

Off out

Dawndonnaagain · 13/07/2017 10:33

disillusioned, it's not a hacker. It's someone who knows the site and is for some reason targeting folk with disabilities or disability in the family. HQ need to do something about it and we need to find a way round this, but it's not a hacker, a hacker would do so much more.

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:34

whatever, we all have different ideas :) Hope they are stopped anyway.

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:35

it's not me anyway. Have a good day and hope they go away :)

BishopBrennansArse · 13/07/2017 10:38

There's absolutely no tech savvy involved.
What there is is a pathetic individual signing up repeatedly through the wide open sign in process. There's nothing to detect whether or not banned regs have come from that particular ip, browser combination to prevent it.

So, get banned. Get a disposable email address and just sign up again and again.

What there is evidence of is it is one person. Over and over again for six days now. On occasion using sock puppet accounts. Post vile posts, send vile pms, use vile disablist language in usernames.

It's also someone who has been around years, and I mean years. "Makes you sound like a cunt" was a way to get around being deleted some years back. Knowing the sn community chat board the g&c. Going on the support thread for neurodivergent adults. Those places are pretty tucked away, not on aibu.

This is an adult and one who has been around these parts a long time and know how it works.

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:39

for some people the joy is not in being disablist or targeting a particular person, its in getting past again and being abusive although they were banned, is all i will say.

The main thing is that they are got rid of anyway, whatever their motivation :).

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:40

there is totally no need to convince me of their motives, honestly. We can all have different opinions :) It doesn't really matter

Polter · 13/07/2017 10:43

That's what I think too Bishop, all of it.

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 13/07/2017 10:46

Yup. Though I also agree with disillusioned's
"the joy is... ...in getting past again and being abusive although they were banned"

I think it's probably someone who is a long term disabilist arse, but they are also getting off on the "haha, I got in anyway"

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:49

maybe everyone is right :) good post Beyond

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:49

yes I am sure they have done this before

Dawndonnaagain · 13/07/2017 10:51
Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:52

There shouldnt be "corners" though.

Bet the hacker would love that.

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:52

who knows what their motivation is, and hope they stop.

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 10:53

I did actually mean troll there not hacker. Who knows what they are.

Polter · 13/07/2017 10:53

Oh, I'm sure they're loving how easy it is to pop on and post a flurry of shit.

It's just so easy to do that I don't want to elevate their sense of self worth by according them hacker status. Hackers have skills.

BishopBrennansArse · 13/07/2017 10:58

Quite.
Hacking denotes a level of intelligence that this particular individual lacks. Very evident by the quality of their posts.

Oh and my phone autocorrects hacking to jacking which I'm sure they're also doing, must be a huge wanker!

Sirzy · 13/07/2017 11:05

Some sort of update on the issue from MNHQ would be quite nice...

Yeah, Sirzy Hang on:
We're doing what we can, we can't tighten things up as it's not fair on everyone else, tech are working on it.
That do ya!
