What actually are your plans to deal with disablism on MN?

You remember you were going to impliment all kinds of things, Message which explained posts were deleted due to disablism, Emails to the posters, proactive buzzwords...

a year on what has been the result of this massive change in moderation?

Now i'm not suggesting this was a carrot, dangled to try and stop people leaving....
But we donkeys ARE getting a little tired of walking and woudl like to know what plans are there for the future to stop attacks.

One thing I will say is trolling the g&c shows a high level of knowledge of what's what around here.

Yes you can't get to that in the active threads section, you need to know where it is. This is why i think they've searched people post histories.

I suppose the good thing is the longer it continues the more clues there will be for the police.

I don't think this will go to the police unless someone takes it there. I can't, as I say I've had two hate crimes which have been completely dismissed but if someone else wanted to I'd speak to their force gladly.

To register and specifically select the SN boards is a new kind of low.

Part of me thinks that posters should need a 28 days history before being able to select to post on them, but then that would be very unfair to those who genuinely need the support the boards can offer so I don't know what the answer is.

It's one very specific troll in this instance. It's unusual these days the target is specifically disability. So a proper ban and police action?

Police action (by mnhq?) must be the way forward, surely.

This is a sustained, deliberate attack against vulnerable members, not just a bunch of bored, hairy handed, truck drivers (NATDALT obv)

If MNHQ won't involve the police (and I know it's been suggested by some posters for a long time) could posters screenshot posts and PMs and report it themselves to spur MN into action?

Sorry, Samcro, that was me that mentioned school kids, I thought I was being facetious! I do see your point. This is an adult, and it's targeted and as BBA says, it's someone who knows this place well.

This isn't hacking and IMHO it's unlikely it's a school kid.

I think maybe 'we' do have to change how we deal with it, MN don't pre-moderate (thankfully!) so this crap will keep appearing, whether it's this troll or the next. I would like to think the police would take the direct attacks seriously but I suspect not, so we just have to keep reporting, ignoring and not giving attention on threads, perhaps keeping any talk of it on threads like these to highlight it to MNHQ.

If a business is not adequately addressing hate speech, surely you report the business, not the individual? I guess the question here is what is "adequate"?

Yes, I agree, it's not a kid, it's someone who's been here a while and knows where to look for certain themes and targeted people.

I believe they are trying but its someone very tech savvy.
