You remember you were going to impliment all kinds of things, Message which explained posts were deleted due to disablism, Emails to the posters, proactive buzzwords...

a year on what has been the result of this massive change in moderation?

Now i'm not suggesting this was a carrot, dangled to try and stop people leaving....
But we donkeys ARE getting a little tired of walking and woudl like to know what plans are there for the future to stop attacks.

Are Pm's still being sent?
The poster seems to ave cleared off.

Disillusionedone · 13/07/2017 08:15

Disablist trolling is actually illegal.

Methinks Hq should look into pursuing this troll through the police.

Dawndonnaagain · 13/07/2017 08:18

I haven't had any for a couple of days. Just pointing out that it's not as easy to hide the thread for some of us. I don't know about whether anyone else is still getting them. I hope not. It's horrid.

Disillusioned, bearing in mind this has been going on since last Saturday, I'm inclined to agree.

Polter · 13/07/2017 08:22

Report and hide works when it's a troll starting a thread, but not when they invade long running support threads or threads made by vulnerable people or people going through shitty times who need support.

bubblesbubbles · 13/07/2017 08:26

Some of the posts have been up for nearly 40mins now, more mods whether volunteers or whatever is clearly needed MN.

Polter · 13/07/2017 08:27

We need to keep reporting I think.

Sirzy · 13/07/2017 08:28

This morning the SN support thread has been trolled. That is a particular low as that really should be a safe place (the while board should be but you know what I mean!)

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:32

They are being deleted now. Hopefully the name will be changed again too.

Polter · 13/07/2017 08:33

Our adult one has been too Sirzy, yesterday and today. This is clearly a longstanding re-registering member as they think they know what buttons to press and know who's who.

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:35

The thing is as far back as i've been here the SN section hasn't actually caused any trouble to anyone, so why attack it?

Polter · 13/07/2017 08:38

Dunno prof, suspect there's some history here.

HalfShellHero · 13/07/2017 08:40

There are some dreadful views about children with asd other invisible disabilities on here, of all places! Sad to see such narrow mindedness.

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:40

It's a bit uneasy that it is attacks on indvidual people rather than "the disabled" in general.

BishopBrennansArse · 13/07/2017 08:40

Whilst I get your point Floofy - I wouldn't want bloody sparkly tickets and hunning for anything in the world - it's not the ethos I want but the technology. So that means a ban is a ban and no ability to re reg easily. The only filter I'd want would be on usernames and not on swears (fuck I swear plenty myself!) but disablist and racist language for example.

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:42

Yes you shouldn't be able to register a name with the N word, the R word, the S word in them.

BishopBrennansArse · 13/07/2017 08:44

Or N word, P word

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:46

what's the P word?

BishopBrennansArse · 13/07/2017 08:46

Pms are continuing

"BishopBrennansArse if you get a car for free you have no rights to complain what happens to it Your life is funded by taxpayers."

Aww. Lovely.

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:46

oh never mind, worked it out.

Dawndonnaagain · 13/07/2017 08:51

Flowers BBA

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:51

Angry Has HQ not banned them?

How are they still sending out pms?

FloofyCat · 13/07/2017 08:53

Sorry I forgot to mention PMs, agree it's not as simple as report and hide there, as they feel "targeted" against an individual in a way a post on a forum doesn't.

I think a PM that says "you're a twat and I hate disabled people" is absolutely a hate crime and should be treated as such. I also think this is what will force MNHQ to act, at least by tightening up rules about who can PM (not new users and perhaps not name changers and certainly never PBPs?) Again we will probably all disagree on this Smileand the best method of stamping it out.

I don't even think charging as they used to would help. (CAT ME YOU CUNT, anyone? Grin) I also think these trolls are long term MNers, though it saddens me to say it.

I think the ease of name changing is both a blessing and a curse, but MNHQ don't consider it to be at a tipping point yet.

Polter · 13/07/2017 08:54

I think they're long term MNers too Floofy

Bish Flowers

BishopBrennansArse · 13/07/2017 08:57

I still think it's one person.

professorvanvonsteinenburg · 13/07/2017 08:58

Sadly i think name changing might be best for some. Or getting post history deleted, as they seem to use the search function to target people.
