SLOW! It's so fucking slow now, I can't even get long threads to load any more

Let alone post on them.

It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

I have always had it a et to 25 and set to split into pages. I also can't use chrome...

I put Opera (and Dolphin and Ghostery!) on all my devices (iphone, ipad and laptop) and all is working fine for me in all three browsers now, but I was suffering the same problem as others previously with safari and chrome. All ads are now blocked through the browsers so could something being served with the ads be the issue?

(I don't understand why others cannot put different browsers on their iphones. There are at least 10 good browsers in the App Store to choose from......am I being dim?!)

I already have it set to 25. I can use chrome but it takes me through to the app set up rather than the mobile site.

There must have been an issue yesterday. I couldn't access anything. Had to come back today to post here as I wouldn't have been able to do it yesterday. The site would just freeze and you couldn't do anything. Better today.

I'm on an iPhone 6 using the mobile site on Safari. Several times this evening the page has frozen and I have had to close Safari completely and start again; on one occasion I had to reset my phone completely to get rid of the circle to show background activity at the top, despite all my apps being closed. It's only mumsnet causing me any issues.

I'm pretty much out of space on my phone, I'd have to lose something to gain a different app, and frankly MN isn't doing it enough for that right now.

I too am having problems for the last week. Can sometimes look at a thread but most of the time I get half a screen and everything freezes - using safari on an iPad.

Also, where has customise gone - I have tried to change the number of messages on a screen, in the hope that will help, but can't find how to do,it anymore.

Hi all,

Tech has confirmed that a few of you have not yet reduced your 'posts per page'.

You could benefit from doing this as with fewer posts, the page will load quicker, so please do give it a go!

Tech is (sadly) still struggling to replicate the problem here but are continuing to investigate as we speak.

The problem I'm encountering has got nothing to do with thread size or post per page number. When it's happening, it happens with every page I navigate to, whether that's "I'm on", new threads with only a dozen posts or large ones with a few hundred. I'm not getting timed out; the page acts as though it has loaded but on trying to scroll down it shows only white space beyond the first few posts and then becomes completely unresponsive so that I have to close the tab and open a new one. As I said, this problem lasts for a variable amount of time then suddenly it's fine again and pages load at their usual speed, navigation works as normal again.

This is getting so frustrating now.. it's not a specific thread/page problem, it's the whole site. The pages freezes and doesn't load. I have to keep fully closing my browser and re-opening it.

This is what happens when I scroll down - I did a screenshot of the last. I was forced to close down safari after. I was trying to read the last page on this thread.

I am having the same problem.
iPhone iOS. Threads half load then freeze and I have to shut it down and reopen. Really slow too.

I'm in an iPhone 6 with safari and it's been awful for me today.

I was only set at 50 posts but have set it down to 25 to see if it does help.....

I'm not one for flouncing but it really does make the site unusable.

I clicked on this thread to say hey me too and couldn't load it for half an hr!

iPhone safari here and it is so temperamental. Not a problem with my internet.
