SLOW! It's so fucking slow now, I can't even get long threads to load any more

Let alone post on them.

It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

ShoeJunkie · 22/02/2017 21:21

Mine is super slow/not loading at all on the mobile site on my iPhone. Working ok on safari on the iPad though.

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/02/2017 00:43

This has been going on intermittently for ages. I got sick of reporting so ended up installing Adblock Plus for ipad.

Huge improvement.

TeenageCentaurMortificado · 23/02/2017 08:04

Same for me on safari past couple of days. Even to the point I can't scroll if the thread/page does load. It is literally only mumsnet and not my connection.

Very intermittent.

MaisieDotes · 23/02/2017 09:45

I can't get anything on Safari on my iPhone now, I thought it was a Jeffrey thing yesterday so just left it, but no change then this morning.

I've logged into the app to investigate and post this but I don't like the app and always use the mobile site

MaisieDotes · 23/02/2017 09:47

Oh and I completely cleared all my website data etc on Safari and every other website is fine, videos play fine etc etc so it's definitely just MN.

LornaMumsnet · 23/02/2017 13:21

Hi there Kiwi32

Tech is still looking into this - they've asked what URL you were trying to get to before it timed out.

Was it a specific thread, the homepage, topics?

RebootYourEngine · 23/02/2017 13:46

I thought i was the only one.

Samsung tablet, mobile site, chrome is the one i mainly use to access the site.

Kiwi32 · 23/02/2017 13:49

Hi Lorna, it was 'active' on this occasion. Have had same error accessing threads though. Many thanks

NudeDude · 24/02/2017 11:07

It's been really slow all week for me again on the mobile site and have to click on each thread about 5 times for it to open. When it does open half of the screen is blank. If you click on my pics to open them you can see the bottom and top half of the screen is fine but the middle is all white.

SLOW! It's so fucking slow now, I can't even get long threads to load any more

And again 🙈

NudeDude · 25/02/2017 10:22

I'm using an iPhone 6 to access the mobile site through google.

Idefix · 25/02/2017 12:17

Also having problems here using a 3rd gen IPad (A1416), accessed via the website and not using an app. Other websites are ok (Amazon, EBay, etc) it's just Mumsnet that's going slow, and I'm on 25 posts per page.

NudeDude · 25/02/2017 14:09

I've just tried to use the mobile site again and it's completely constantly freezing, showing blank white pages and nothing happens when you click on a thread.

After 25 minutes and not one thread opening I gave up and I'm now using the app.

I don't have any problems on any other other site at all just the mobile site through the google app.

vvviola · 25/02/2017 17:11

I'm having the same problem as Nude. I've given up on the mobile site for now as it keeps freezing all of
Safari.

LIZS · 25/02/2017 18:33

Anyone else finding the ios app a real struggle today?

AnnetteCurtin · 26/02/2017 08:50

Please MNHQ can we get this sorted out? I'm having the same problems as PP's. Only first few responses in a thread showing then huge swathes of blankness. I'm using ipad and other sites are fine - buzzfeed, Reddit, amazon etc. It's taken me four days to be able to post this because of the freezing and blankness! Thank you.

KungFuEric · 26/02/2017 09:28

Same issue as annette reporting on initial posts loading but then scrolling through white screen with no content loaded.

Tediously slow website.

I've taken on advice from previous posters and switched to safari (diehard chrome girl) only for mumsnet as Adblock plus for iPad only works on safari. I hope you're getting the message mumsnet that your website is so user unfriendly people go out of their way to change their browsing habits, and in the process block one of your revenue streams, just to make the site functional. Fingers crossed it works.

OurBlanche · 26/02/2017 09:37

I have add that I too switch browsers for MN.

Firefox, laptop, Windows10: can't access server, too slow messages and then, after about 10 mins of use it all gets slower and then stop. I have Firefox fairly tightly locked down, no cookies etc.

Msoft Edge, lasts longer, I don't have it locked down. The background adverts at more intrusive - which is why I have Firefox locked down - and I eventually give up, when peripheral movements, things like the coins dropping into the piggy bank, make my eyes hurt!

I may have to just give up as I suspect the advertising won't be going away and neither me nor my laptop can cope with it!

KatieScarlett · 26/02/2017 11:32

Me too with the partial loading and freezing. Not restricted to long threads.
iPhone/safari on mobile site.

Oldieandgoldie · 26/02/2017 13:18

The Italian Godmother thread would only partially load for me at about 1056 this morning. I'm on Safari, on a (new) iPad.

CurlsandCurves · 26/02/2017 14:47

Thought it was my iPad playing up!
I'm having the same problem, using Safari on the main website.

It's driving me crazy!!!

TheNiffler · 26/02/2017 19:23

I'm on 25 posts a page now. It's still slow and not load adding half the time. This is only on MN, everywhere else is fine. We are fibre optic high speed broadband, it's 2017, I though we'd left dial up well over a decade or so ago Hmm

NudeDude · 27/02/2017 12:09

The mobile site is still completely unusable.
I'm using an iPhone 6 and google.
