SLOW! It's so fucking slow now, I can't even get long threads to load any more

It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

Same here and it's messing my whole phone up. As soon as mumsnet freezes I can't close the page, can't do anything. I have to double click and shut safari down to access anything.

Similar iPhone 5s safari issues here with the mobile site. If I turn off the tab and open a new one it usually starts up again.

BakeOff can you see the word 'Talk' near the top of the screen, between the banner and the Active / I'm On / I'm Watching etc menu? Click on the little down arrow next to 'Talk', then 'Customise' and that will show you how many posts per page you have set up.

I've switched to my laptop, running Firefox, and it seems fine so far.

I'm having the same freezing issues needing to close and reopen a new tab to resolve. It's bloody annoying.

I changed the pages to 50 posts per page and also changed to the Mobile Site, on IPad and it's made a lot of difference.

Previoulsy I was on the desktop site and 100 posts per page.

Also been having this with MN for the past three days where half the page will load then no more, or it'll just be a white screen despite being fully loaded. Am on an iPad using the desktop site, iOS 10(?)

The thing is, when this happens I can't visit any other thread - if the page loads, even though it shows me threads, I can't click on any of them, can't move to a different topic, or start a new thread. I have to reload a good four times before the page becomes responsive. It's mainly been happening with me when I try to look at

• the home page
• active convos
• anything in trending/discussions of the day

Well I spoke too soon!

It's gone back to being crap again, pages won't load, I can't get past the "Threads I'm on" page as it only half loads.

It's taken 3 goes of closing down MN then coming back on it, to get to this page.

Getting blank page too. Had to find this thread a different way as too much blank page so couldn't get it on TIO.

Unusable again tonight. No point reading a thread as you can only see so much. Doubt I will be able to see anything after this post.

Only difference is that I'm on a iPhone 6 safari.

So slow tonight, it's clearly the top advert loading which causes the trouble. iPhone 5SE on safari

I remembered that I have Puffin browser on iPad, and MN works fine on that! Might be worth downloading it if you use iPad.

Ugh, yes - constantly freezing. As pp I'm having to keep closing Safari and restart my browser. Very irritating.

I'm also iphone, safari, mobile site so thought I'd test using the chrome browser rather than safari and it's the same..

It's worse tonight, the site is virtually unusable. I'm having to constantly reboot my iPad if I want to look at anything.

All other websites are running fine.

I'm on iPhone, mobile site and have it set to 25 posts - I've been having the same issues on and off for at least 3 weeks.

Last night mumsnet wouldn't work at all for me between 6-9:30pm (and then I went to bed) on my iPhone/safari

Couldn't even load the front page or threads I'm on

Just came back to confirm that tech advice to reduce the posts viewable didn't work.

I first posted yesterday afternoon and have tried intermittently to get back to this thread - only just managed this morning!

Sorry MNHQ but this is awful and if history has anything to add it's going to be linked to advertising somehow.

I read the skim links thread the other day, is there any chance it's linked to that? I'm sure I saw that it had been set to a certain level (not too intrusive), any chance it's not compatible with iPhones and just too much going on in the background?

Incidentally (this could be completely unrelated) but I've noticed my battery draining much faster the last couple of days. I have a lot running on my phone admittedly but nothing more than usual.
