Update to webchat guest colours

Hi,
This is a heads up that we're soon to introduce a change to the colours used to highlight posts on desktop and mobile.

If you've been around long enough to have the old style customised colours this won't affect you.

For newer users - we needed to add some new web chat guest colours and retire the awful mustard yellow we used in the past on desktop webchats. As a result of that we then needed to update our other colours too.

Mine have changed too and I had the old custom colours. Honestly they are too pale. I use MN on my phone and it's actually quite hard to see the different colours. I use it mainly to scroll through long threads to find OP updates as sometimes things go off on a tangent between other posters. The colours are too pale to do that.

Im also colour blind and finding it very hard to tell between the different colours as they are so similar

AND WHY AM I NOW YELLOW???? I WANT MY PINKY-PURPLE BACK!!!

From memory I was purple, OP was green and MNHQ was blue. I don't know what names the colours had iyswim.

I previously had mine customised and whilst they're still those colours on the desktop site they've changed to the new colours on the mobile site.

I agree they're way too pale, particularly the wishy-washy yellow. It's very easy to scan down through a thread on my mobile and miss my own posts.

I had old customised colours which you've stolen have changed.

My posts were a lavender-y purple, OP posts were either blue or green. Definitely custom though.

I also have fucking magnolia. Why? Whyyyyy would you do this? I'm sulking.

I think I was purple, OP was a dark colour.

I had old customised colours, and if I go into customise on the desktop version (I use mobile) my old customised colours still show.

I had op in olivegreen, my own in purple, now op is pale pink and my own are such an insipid yellow that I missed it!

I had customised. My posts are now not highlighted at all (used to be pink) and the OP's are now a different colour (used to be grey). Boo.

I should clarify, my old colours are still selected on the "customise" page - they are not showing up on the site.

I've now requested desktop site on my mobile Chrome, and I get proper colours.

Turns out I'm pink, not purple. But definitively not magnolia!

I don't like mnhq not being blue either.

I use my phone not the app. I have often have problems with vision due to an illness and the distinctive colours really helped me read threads and keep track of my own posts.

Please change it back.

The very very pale green and barely there yellow/cream is almost impossible to see.

I had the old custom colours, I think, but it's still changed. My posts were purple/lilac and I think the OP's were green. MNHQ was blue.

It'll be too difficult to use, honestly.

Same as MrsHathaway I seem to have lost my customised colours on the mobile site only - desktop seems OK.

My customised colours are still the same as they were. Nothing has changed. Pink for op and Purple for my own posts.

I had customised my colours but still been moved to the new ones. I actually prefer the new colours, they just need to be darker instead of so pale/ pastel shades.

I have just looked on mobile site and yes it has changed to horrendous pale colours.

The new colours are very hard on me. I have issues with severe headaches and vision, as a result of a chronic illness. Not only is it hard to distinguish between the coloured posts and the white background posts, it also makes me have to concentrate so hard on the coloured posts that I feel a bit car sick.

Please change it back or give us options to change.

Want my colours back how they were please - grey for OP and me in a fash8ng shade of mauve I can't distinguish between posts now

I had a very strong green for my OP colour before - really easy to see the OP posts if you're scrolling through a long thread. I now have an insipid creamy/yellow colour which is almost indistinguishable from the other posts. Please change it back - why do you have to make such dramatic changes without any apparent consultation or investigation or any thought to how people want to use the site ?

It's really, really irritating and I won't be using the site if it stays as it is - pointless as I can't use it how I want to

I want the pinky purple back too 😭😡
