"We don't think that this thread is disablist, it is a valid discussion that we don't think should be shut down. "

yet it has obviously been reported.
cause hurt and upset
how is that making life easier(or better) for the sn community`?

or this message from mn hq
That CBeebies is just far too PC
Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: Thanks so much for all the reports about this.

Although there has been some interesting debate and discussion, we do agree that the OP and some of what ensues is disablist, so we have decided to delete.

how can these be interesting debates??
\not long ago mn hq said that they were going to be quicker dealing with this stuff
what happened??

I think OP of the blue badge thread is a deliberate goady fucker tbh. Too many convenient circumstances to justify them mis using a disabled parking space. I'm not commenting and feeding the troll. Ds has a blue badge and I've had plenty of instances where my using it (with ds in car only) has been challenged (usually by OAPs) because ds doesn't fit their stereotyped idea of what a BB holder looks like.

unfortunatly polter MNHQ don't care. They won't change the name changing ability.

As sad as it is they are making money from this, the more goady high traffic thread there are the more money they make.

The Bb thread is bad.

Is it? Confused
Aren't the vast vast majority of posters saying under no circumstances should you park in a BB space if you haven't got a badge? I think I only saw two saying otherwise, and they were squarely told they were in the wrong.

Have I got the wrong thread?

candykane25 · 31/08/2016 18:11

Oh I hope so purple. I darent look myself.
Why would you start a blue badge thread? Or a priority seating thread?

The "factual" one about how many people without disabilities have blue badges from years ago was actually hate speech.

I managed to avoid the bbb thread and then ended up informing some random Facebook trill that there's no such thing as "playing the disability card".
It's that attitude and the Bb's are easy to get attitude that are the problem. Ignorance.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 01/09/2016 07:57

^The fact is a lot of people who have blue badges don't need them (And yes i say this knowing people who were given them many years ago and are now 'well' or never needed them in the first place) and there are a lot of people who would benefit from one but will not or can not get one.
don't fret OP!!^

Can you imagine a similar post starting with the fact is and followed by derogatory nonsense being left up?
No becuase it is hate speech.

The fact is a lot of Muslims.... (insert derogatory stuff)

The fact is a lot of Jewish people... (insert derogatory stuff)

The fact is a lot of Black people... (insert derogatory stuff)

The fact is a lot of Asian people... (insert derogatory stuff)

It's all hate speech!

candykane25 · 01/09/2016 08:11

Yes you are right.
I've decided in future I'm going to write my own Guidelines.

Message from a Person with a disability.
The post by contravenes my guidelines for the following reasons:

  • ignorance about the impact of disability
  • disablism
  • inaccuracy
  • offensive

It is now deleted from my memory.

candykane25 · 01/09/2016 12:11

Help! I use the mobile site but it's shrunk and is defaulting back to the desktop webpage. It's extremely difficult to navigate this with my visual impairment - anyone know how I get back to the mobile interface? I've tried working it out for myself but it's all too small

PurpleDaisies · 01/09/2016 12:12

If you scroll right to the bottom there should be a link back to the mobile site. Once you're back on the mobile site you should be ok.

PigPigTrotters · 01/09/2016 12:13

The NAS have just shared this article on FB (daily mail warning)

It feels like a losing battle where shitty attitudes are winning. I hope MNHQ can rise above daily mailesque opinions.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 01/09/2016 12:46

There are loads of shitty attitudes on there from parents with kids with autism judging others and using phrases like "autism card".

Makes me despair. Ignorant fuckers.

Fully expecting similar type thread on mN soon.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 01/09/2016 12:48

Which I will not post on now I am following my new life rule of you can't educate a horde of ignorant fuckers because as soon as you educate one another pops up.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 01/09/2016 12:50

That's if they are not deliberately being goady.

insan1tyscartching · 01/09/2016 12:58

I can look forward to SIL sharing and retweeting that DM article any minute now then Sad What is ironic though is that DN undoubtedly has an ASD himself but because of SIL's refusal to contemplate he might have any additional needs (withdrew him from state school when they wanted him to see an ed psych) and her determination to control every aspect of his life she has a really unhappy and isolated 27 year old who doesn't know why his life seems so much harder than his cousins' lives and why he doesn't enjoy their same successes.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 01/09/2016 13:44

So sad. :(

And this thread is about to be full without HQ addressing any of the wonderfully valid points made.

Great.
