one today for instance and mn hq post
"We don't think that this thread is disablist, it is a valid discussion that we don't think should be shut down. "

yet it has obviously been reported.
cause hurt and upset
how is that making life easier(or better) for the sn community`?

or this message from mn hq
That CBeebies is just far too PC
Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: Thanks so much for all the reports about this.

Although there has been some interesting debate and discussion, we do agree that the OP and some of what ensues is disablist, so we have decided to delete.

how can these be interesting debates??
\not long ago mn hq said that they were going to be quicker dealing with this stuff
what happened??

Oh Dixie how rude. The perks of the deaf bit of being deafblind is that I don't hear the comments!
I've just reported another post on the pup thread. Apparently if you are well enough to work you are not disabled enough to receive assistance.

NeedAnotherGlass · 27/08/2016 10:43

That PIP thread is full of the typical shit.
People who haven't got a clue about disability or PIP, telling everyone what the benefit is for and who should get it.
I didn't post on it because it was just so crap.

candykane25 · 27/08/2016 19:45

The post has been deleted. I hope it makes the poster think twice.
The op never came back after the first respondent told her she wasn't disabled enough. I really hope that OP gets the help they need.
I'd like a dedicated Disability topic with dedicated boards for Benefits, Work, Carers, Adaptations, Charities and Organisations, Assistance, Equality, Policies and Legislation and do in.
With all the experience of MNettrs, a lot of helpful info could be shared. And posters who need support can avoid AUBU, Chat and all the ignorance. Anyone posting unhelpful or argumentative shit stirring goady fuckery gets zapped.

NeedAnotherGlass · 27/08/2016 21:25

I think that's a good idea candy
People need a safe place to discuss issues around Disability.

Just5minswithDacre · 27/08/2016 21:46

That's a really good idea.

It's sort of astonishing that we don't have one

Giraffeski · 27/08/2016 22:01

We do don't we? Called SN

NeedAnotherGlass · 27/08/2016 23:58

The SN section is mainly aimed at parents. There is one board for Mumsnetters with SN (that I've never seen before!)

Samcro · 28/08/2016 00:07

there is no where for people who have adults dependants with a disabilty

i did, don't post in the sn topic anymore though.
sadly it never took off. people who have posted for years in the childrens topic and made"friends" are unlikely to want to move topics.

one of the reasons I stopped posting on there was the Confused stuff.

as you say most people use the childrens topic and thats good news.
I don't go there so wouldn't know.
I don't want to argue
(i just want it to be the end of the holidays..)

Posters with disabilities and posters who are Carers to those with disabilities could really build something fabulous if the SN boards were expanded.

Here is one taunting disabled people that their loos can be used to do makeup and for children and they can't do anything about it : disablist thread. OP also complains the is "no grey about some issues" such as disablism.

BeyondASpecialSnowflake · 30/08/2016 12:57

Mnhq delete justified personal attack (by user) following disabilism, before they delete said disabilism.

Priorities...

dear mn hq why are so many disablist threads being left up
paxillin · 30/08/2016 13:01

Thank you, Beyond, I had forgotten the name of the disablist who said she'll continue to use the accessible loos even though she has no need for them and disabled people can't do anything about it.

PurpleDaisies · 30/08/2016 13:02

That thread's gone down for being "not in the spirit". I'd have much preferred an overt "taking the piss if disabled people is absolutely not on". I wonder if anything happened to the arsehole posting about doing their make up in disabled loos who was clearly trying to stir up trouble.
