one today for instance and mn hq post
"We don't think that this thread is disablist, it is a valid discussion that we don't think should be shut down. "

yet it has obviously been reported.
cause hurt and upset
how is that making life easier(or better) for the sn community`?

or this message from mn hq
That CBeebies is just far too PC
Thread deleted
Message from MNHQ: Thanks so much for all the reports about this.

Although there has been some interesting debate and discussion, we do agree that the OP and some of what ensues is disablist, so we have decided to delete.

how can these be interesting debates??
\not long ago mn hq said that they were going to be quicker dealing with this stuff
what happened??

It was a thread from a poster who apparently works with children with SN who thinks that Clarks stocking velcro shoes up to an adult size 7 is "dumbing down society".

Just5minswithDacre · 22/08/2016 13:34

She'd won an award, dontchaknow.

For bolshiness in the face of reasonable criticism, no doubt.

Just5minswithDacre · 22/08/2016 13:37

And so it went on....

Maybe she has difficulty with compartmentalising. Inclusivity in school = good (I've won an award) inclusivity anywhere else = je ne comprends pas.

Either ignorant or goady, not taking on what others say at all should sway the op being goady, and should be deleted, not consulted about said deletion.

NeedAnotherGlass · 22/08/2016 14:24

Ah yes, very goady and very insulting!
Not to mention complete bollocks. Clarks do have laced shoes from size 3 and buckles from even smaller.
And I'm intrigued as to where this shop is that has the children's section upstairs with no lift!

Glad MNHQ deleted it.

Sixweekstowait · 22/08/2016 14:27

I well and bitterly remember my thread being deleted ( about misuse of blue badge spaces) and HQ never consulted me at all - but then I do realise I am a lesser person because of my disability.

NeedACleverNN · 22/08/2016 16:22

Lovely doozy of a thread in AIBU.

Can't be an accident. It really can't

Just5minswithDacre · 22/08/2016 16:26

Which one?

Just5minswithDacre · 22/08/2016 16:27

Oh got it

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/08/2016 16:28

Cut and pasted "how to be goady" thread buggies vs wheelchairs.

No I think these are intentional too Sad

NeedACleverNN · 22/08/2016 16:31

Nice and quick response

Just5minswithDacre · 22/08/2016 16:35

That was quick and unambiguous from MNHQ Smile

Sixweekstowait · 22/08/2016 16:42

And meanwhile in the GF's racist corner we have Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep and a poster who thinks using the phrase' little monkeys' to black children is absolutely fine ( a nursery worker as it happens).

BeyondLovesSweetDee · 22/08/2016 16:51

Buggies v wheelchairs...

"Message from MNHQ: We've reason to believe that the OP might not be 100% genuine, and besides, the OP is disablist, which is against our talk guidelines."

Much better. And quick enough that I didn't even read it. :)

BeyondLovesSweetDee · 22/08/2016 16:51

Fucking rainbowsheep...

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/08/2016 16:56

👍

NeedAnotherGlass · 22/08/2016 17:23

Someone on a deliberate wind-up there. Will have to try much harder than that Grin
Good to see a swift response from MNHQ.

I was going to stay away but I've had a very nice email from MNHQ pointing out I was NOT deleted for being disablist but for saying someone would look like a twat.

An apology from Just5minswithDacre for saying they got it wrong would be nice.

Just5minswithDacre · 22/08/2016 20:52

I'm not trans. What's the 'they' in aid of? Hmm

You want me to apologise to you for forming the impression that disablism came into it, after everything you posted on that thread (is the comment about pitchforks with the crowd meme still up on that thread?) and all the disablism apologia you've posted everywhere?

Is this the sequel to 'the boy who cried wolf' in which the boy instructs Carter Ruck from the wolf's stomach? Shock

TheSilverChair · 22/08/2016 21:11

"They" was because I don't know your gender. I thought it the polite form.

If MNHQ thought anything I posted was disablist they would have deleted it and they didn't. I get sick of all the teacher bashing on MN and expectations of perfection in them. I defended a woman when the knives were out for her. She told a joke that was lame but would have made my very deaf grandfather laugh because it's one he used himself. Not very funny, but not worth trying to get her sacked over.

So no apology for being wrong then? Can't say I'm surprised.

Newes · 22/08/2016 21:16

You were deleted for that? How bizarre, it was a subjective opinion that doing what someone suggested would make that person look like a twat. Not that they were actually a twat.

TheSilverChair · 22/08/2016 21:19

Exactly, I've replied saying I thought it was ok as long as it was indirect. If you have any doubts I'm happy to send you a copy of the email.
