We’d like your help testing a new release of the Mumsnet Talk App 3.0 (beta).

This app is for iPhones and iPads on iOS8 only at the moment.

We'd love it if you can give the app a good workout - using it as you normally do - to read and post in Talk. please do bear in mind that the app is still in beta version, so some things may not work perfectly. We have made a few changes since our last test release.

You can use any email address to sign up.
You need to be logged in to sign up. (If you can't see the sign up page, make sure you are logged in.)
It is LIVE. Any posts you make will be seen on the Mumsnet site for all to see. We'll send you an invitation to download the app (it will arrive via the TestFlight service).

Talk app users

This app will replace the current Talk app (2.1) on your phone if you have it.

Recent beta Talk app testers (Testflight 1.0)

If you have been involved in recent app testing, you will end up with two app icons (1.0 & 3.0) on your device. You can uninstall the previous beta app (it will stop working this week).
If you previously signed up for this - but didn't accept & download the app - you will need to sign up again.

Simurgh- try using the orientation lock via Control Centre to stop your iPad rotating the photo- it's pretty quick to flick control centre up and touch the lock icon.

I like the new layout

Logging in isn't working properly, if you type in your password incorrectly it says you've been successful but I wasn't logged on

can we have a way of increasing the text size pretty please? It's the reason I didn't use the old one. The text is just too small to spend any length of time using the app.

Thought of something else, don't know if I'm missing something. I really like how when you initially press on threads I'm on or active then it flicks back to what you were looking at before, really handy for flicking between threads. And then if you hit the button again it takes you back to where you were in the list. Also good. But then to actually refresh the list of threads you have to scroll all the way back up and pull down. I'd kind of expect that if I clicked on "active" I'd actually get active, not what was active 3 hours ago.

Fairy go to settings on your iPhone/iPad and choose Display and Brightness then text size. Moving the slider to the right will increase the text size.

I've sent the request 3 times now and no invitation to test? I miss the old app ??

Mine is claiming to have expired, now, for some reason.

There will be an update tomorrow morning which, hopefully, will address log in problems that some of you have experienced (although there's a chance we might not get it right first time).

You'll receive an email from Apple when the update is released.

If you are logged in, then you'll probably have to log in again after installing the update. Apologies for that.

Thanks again for the feedback and bug reporting, it's very helpful indeed (we're reading and taking all comments on board).

Sorry to moan about accessibility issues... but the purple as a background is too dark for me to see easily. Please mumsnet....consider those with poorer eyesight!

I can't get in at all. When I try and download the app it says it has expired it does not exist

I definitely agree with the "refresh" option of active threads. A little refresh button would be a lot handier then having to scroll up and pull down every time I wanted to refresh!! Apart from that I'm loving the new app!! So much quicker, smoother and tbh apart from the blip with the app "expiring" I haven't had any other errors! Woohoo for the new app, well done MN!!

Redyellagreen -** it's still too bright in a completely dark room on that setting!

Flipperty hitting the time will automatically whizzy the page to the top for you to refresh. Will at lease end the scrolling.

I haven't been able to log in since the test App came back on line - all I get is an 'Oops - try again later' sort of message.

Finally found the update email - lurking in my "promotions" folder. Google has sussed the inequity :o

I'm going to release an update in a moment which I hope will fix the logging in problems.

You'll receive an email from Apple shortly letting you know there's an update. It should look something like the attached picture. Just tap on the view update button, and then you'll be able to update the app on your phone or iPad.

If you could come back here and let me know how you get on logging in (with a description of any problem that occurs), that would be much appreciated.

Question for MNHQ -

Can we please have the option to hide "stickied" threads. It annoys me to keep seeing (for example) Bumpfest. I'm not interested in it, just like I'm not interested in a lot of sponsored threads and I'd like to be able to hide them like I can on the mobile site.
