Messages all vanishing and now strange new 'report this post' boxes coming up.

Are you tinkering? Smile

i dont like it either, maybe a smaller report a post on this thread up near all the other otions?

tamum · 21/04/2006 08:13

Yikes, this is awful. I'm really sorry to moan JJ, and I can see how very much easier it will be for you all, but it just gives an immediate impression of strife and backstabbing. There's going to be a climate of suspicion if this stays, I think. It caused endless trouble on eBay's discussion boards when they introduced it because people get so click-happy- it's really easy to click on something because it annoys you, but you have to think much harder about contacting MN directly IMHO.

Sorry :(

Blandmum · 21/04/2006 08:14

i agree tamum

i understand the need, but it is sad

tigermoth · 21/04/2006 08:16

If it takes the heat off mumsnet, it's OK by me.

Tinker · 21/04/2006 08:49

Keep being tempted to press it just when I post myself!

nailpolish · 21/04/2006 09:00

i dont like it Sad

nailpolish · 21/04/2006 09:01

suppose ill get used to it though Sad

hunkermunker · 21/04/2006 09:01

When you click it, does it pop up an Outlook email? Or does just clicking it report the post?

(I will click it by mistake one day, I know I will - I'd like to apologise for that in advance.)

nailpolish · 21/04/2006 09:01

hunker i clicked as i couldnt resist and it went to outlook

hunkermunker · 21/04/2006 09:09

Ah now that just annoys me because I don't use Outlook and it hangs my PC.

Ledodgy · 21/04/2006 09:17

WE should have a compliment this post one as well to balance it out. Grin

Tinker · 21/04/2006 09:19

It just goes to you own email thing - I don't use outlook either.

Kelly1978 · 21/04/2006 09:20

Why can't we simply have a link to report a thread along with where the links are to watch the thread etc? It wouldn't be so hard to find the post in question then. I don't like it on every post neither. MN has always taken a relaxed approach to moderating, this seems a bit strong to me.

Ledodgy · 21/04/2006 09:22

I can understand the thinking behind it but i can also see it causing more trouble than it's worth. I think there's going to be loads of "Ok who reported me then?" threads.

cod · 21/04/2006 09:22

i did i reporeted the lot of oy
i erporta ll the name changing cod slaggers

spacecadet · 21/04/2006 09:23

cod · 21/04/2006 09:23

good! help me on my phoning oz thread guys

Ledodgy · 21/04/2006 09:24

I also can see a competition coming ....Who can get the most reported threads.

Tinker · 21/04/2006 09:25

Can we have monthly stats on who has been reported most? Like those horrible Far East companies? Top of the list gets banned [grinned]. Let's add a bit of sport to it.

cod · 21/04/2006 09:25

er yes (looks sheepish)

hunkermunker · 21/04/2006 09:27

That's a shit idea and all of you who agreed are total tossers.

(competitive, moi?!)

morningpaper · 21/04/2006 09:31

Are there really that many posts that need reporting?

I've never read a post that I think needed reporting, I can't believe it's so common! What kind of thing gets reported?

Frenchgirl · 21/04/2006 09:35

really don't like that new thing MNTowers, looks all Big Brotherish to me

brrrrrrr

morningpaper · 21/04/2006 09:38

it does look like we all hate each other

is it just so we can report any whisperings of advocates or non-advocates of contented babies? wink wink
