Why are some members of this site allowed to get away with persistently being vile, pushing an agenda, defending the indefensible, upsetting other members, twisting versions of events and generally being nasty, and they do not get banned?

Not about any one particular poster, but I have noticed that some stronger "personalities" on here seem to be Teflon coated.

Why is this?

Why do the owners of this site want that kind of vile poster and do not seem to care about the number of truly decent kind posters who are being upset and driven off the site?

Not sure Royalty is the right word Hath, that will have people thinking of a lot of posters whom you are probably not referring to.

Unless I have missed the point again

BIWItheBold · 04/07/2012 18:25

Actually, I don't think it's true that some people get away with posting certain stuff. I can think of many who have been deleted. However, they get called 'Royalty' because they post an awful lot - so you probably just see them around more without noticing the threads that have been deleted.

BIWItheBold · 04/07/2012 18:25

Are you meaning on specific boards, Hathor?

Tee2072 · 04/07/2012 18:26

I actually can't name names as I ignore mean people. If I didn't ignore them I'd call them fucking cunts and get banned.

What I really want is either a hide poster option or one week day of allowing personal attacks. Then I'd have something to say to these fucking cunts people.

hathorisaskingaquestion · 04/07/2012 18:26

No not the old Royalty bollocks.

Nasty vile people being horrible and outing people and posting nasty vile stuff and really really upsetting people in REAL LIFE.

And for some reason they are still allowed to be here.

Why?

Is this the type of site MN and it's advertisers want? One where decent good kind posters are driven away?

I will ask again.

What are MNHQ afraid of?

OP posts:
Puffinsaresmall · 04/07/2012 18:26

Hath - by royalty you don't mean people who are prolific do you? You mean aggressive FWR posters, maybe?

Tee2072 · 04/07/2012 18:27

If MNHQ want freedom of speech, then they need to allow all speech, including personal attacks.

However, freedom of speech has nothing to do with it,

usualsuspect · 04/07/2012 18:28

Sorry , I'm not sure who you are referring to , it's all a bit cloak and dagger and I'm a bit slow sometimes.

FioFio · 04/07/2012 18:29

it's to do with the aibu section imo

i reckon half the people who post on there

(a) don't have kids
(b) don't post anywhere else on mumsnet
(c) are men wearing smocks
(d) get little stiffys whenever they insult either women, children, the disabled, those on benefits, carers, immigrants etc etc etc

hathorisaskingaquestion · 04/07/2012 18:30

FWR threads. And some of the posters.

Who are they? What hold do they have on HQ that HQ are running scared and can't take firm action to stop it?

OP posts:
amillionyears · 04/07/2012 18:30

To be fair, the group that were called MN royalty are loads better than they used to be,they have become very reasonable.
There seem to be others who are doing the above,And no they are not sufficiently stopped.

Pagwatch · 04/07/2012 18:34

I'm royalty apparently. I am an arse some days, lovely others. But I post exactly as I did when I first rolled up and I am sure mnhq don't treat me any differently.

I think there are some really fucking nasty people on here but I am not sure whether they are royalty or not makes any difference. Mostly the ones I think are nasty shits are not royalty.

Mnhq may not ban people you think deserve it but I doubt it is because they are royalty. But I don't know who you are talking about so I may be wrong.

FioFio · 04/07/2012 18:35

pagwatch, surely you are a newbie?

OatyBeatie · 04/07/2012 18:35

I thought the FWR area had a massive clearing of the air recently, and was all set for a hopefully brighter future. It would be a shame to have more bloodletting on that subject now.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 04/07/2012 18:35

There are some nasty nastards around here - I think recent events on the FWR boards have been an eye opener.

Pagwatch · 04/07/2012 18:35

FWR..

LeB0F · 04/07/2012 18:36

Helen, come and answer the OP! That stiff about the hirsute lady banjo player will go with me to my grave, I promise.

hathorisaskingaquestion · 04/07/2012 18:36

it's posters who are identified with Feminism and Women's Rights who have taken nasty stances against other posters and carried those stances out across the boards and been attacking and horrible.

And have outed people in RL and used private information against them.

Why have they been allowed to dominate like this?

What do they have to make them so special? I wouldn't be allowed to do it, I would be banned, why are they not?

OP posts:
LeB0F · 04/07/2012 18:36

I meant stuff, actually. But both work

hathorisaskingaquestion · 04/07/2012 18:37

And I'm sorry if I've offended longstanding posters - that's not who I'm talking about.

I hope I have clarified. I used an inappropriate turn of phrase.

Hello. We can categorically assure you that anyone we believed to be being persistently vile would be hearing from us. At the very least.

No one is Teflon-coated.

Having said that, we don't generally make a policy of telling everyone else that a certain poster or posters are hearing from us (at the very least).

We appreciate that sometimes this can seem as though we are doing nothing. But that's really not our style

cakeismysaviour · 04/07/2012 18:37

There are posters on this site who can post things without being flamed, whereas almost everyone else would be flamed like hell for it.

Its the same on every forum on the internet though. It IS annoying, but I just ignore it and laugh at more fickle arse-licking posters who will flame something on one thread, but then be nauseatingly supportive of certain other people who post the same thing.

As I said, happens on all forums.... Wink

FioFio · 04/07/2012 18:37

what the feminists are outinf people? or fwr (who I have no idea about-who are they?) they have been outing feminists??
