Why are some members of this site allowed to get away with persistently being vile, pushing an agenda, defending the indefensible, upsetting other members, twisting versions of events and generally being nasty, and they do not get banned?

Not about any one particular poster, but I have noticed that some stronger "personalities" on here seem to be Teflon coated.

Why is this?

Why do the owners of this site want that kind of vile poster and do not seem to care about the number of truly decent kind posters who are being upset and driven off the site?

Oh no.

Hath I honestly don't think that MMe was being all p/a prefecty. I just think that people were genuinely hurt by this weekend's actions and it is all a bit raw.

I can see you are really upset and I am sorry but also think that you are not being ganged up on this thread by people.

MmeLindor. · 04/07/2012 20:22

I'm not saying you cannot post what you want.

I'm questioning the wisdom of reheating a fire that had begun to die down.

LeB0F · 04/07/2012 20:22

There was nothing passive aggressive about MmeL's post though- it's her opinion, and she can speak it too. She hasn't been rude to you, Hath. You are sounding very upset and sensitive, and people are broadly sympathetic to what you are saying, but you know how these things tend to go- if an OP starts seeing their arse when somebody does disagree, it tends to go tits up quite quickly.

@hathorisaskingaquestion

D'you know what MmeL.

I have a right to bring up what I like on here.

I wasn't and am not just talking about the events of this past weekend.

I am talking about an attitude and a tone and a perceived teflon coating of some posters.

Yes, you have a perfect right to bring it up, hath. And we're sorry if it's proving upsetting for you.

We're also sorry you feel we have this attitude. We honestly don't think we do. But clearly if you - and others - feel we do, we need to work harder at making sure those perceptions don't gain a hold.

As ever, we're grateful you brought it up. Feedback, however critical, is always useful.

Hullygully · 04/07/2012 20:23

It has all been a terrible misunderstanding

Hath is talking about her past situation

MMeL is all raw from the w/e

It has all got a bit mixed up.

MmeL - Why can I not ask questions that I want to? It's not JUST about FWR it's about an attitude and a tone of some posters. Across various threads and on various boards.

No one is making you post here.

If you feel it's too raw for you, then you can hide the thread.

And I'm sorry but your comment came across as Passive Aggressive to me, I'm only back here after being hounded off at a time when I was going through hell in my personal life, came on here for support and got attacked. Don't you think I was hurt?

Is it time for incense and chanting?

Pinot · 04/07/2012 20:25

Come on, it's OK :)

Hullygully · 04/07/2012 20:26

Raindrops on roses and whiskers and kittens

WhatWouldMargoDo · 04/07/2012 20:27

I think everyone perceives miscarriages of justice from mnhq from time to time. You just have to decide whether you can be arsed reporting, or whether it's time for a break, or a name change or whatever.

MmeLindor. · 04/07/2012 20:27

Sorry hath. If I misunderstood then I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you.

You know what. I'm hiding from dh in the bathroom pretending to be getting ready to go out. Which is ridiculous.

I'm off for a nice glass of wine in a pub far away from the bastard neighbour who has just decided that tonight is a good time to learn how to play the fucking bagpipes.

I'll be in a better mood later. I promise.

((hugs hath surreptitious like))

UnicornRainbowLove · 04/07/2012 20:28

Good lord.

This is quite the thread for talking about being nasty and aggressive isn't it? Bearing in mind that I've been accused of working for MNHQ (The INSULT!) and now there's talk of prefects and shit...

Interesting.

Hath, I have to agree that no one has attacked you on this thread. MmeL expressed her opinion, just as you've expressed yours. Just because you started the thread doesn't mean others can't disagree with you.

But you know that. Grin

Here's a thought...sort of from left field...my husband moderates a very popular site with very heavy moderation...and part of that is a totally separate board called 'Why was my post deleted'. Every time they delete a thread, they post why on that board. Even if it's just 'because the person was a moron'.

Would HQ consider something like that? Cuz it would cut down on the 10,000 freds about freds...

babyheaves · 04/07/2012 20:29

I don't think that MNHQ can't be held responsible for every post and every poster and I've found that they are generally fair.

I'm sorry that your upset Hath, but I hope you can sort it out.

Helen, I'm sorry to hear your Mum's not good. Sending lots of Wine and Thanks your way.

WhatWouldMargoDo · 04/07/2012 20:29

I don't know your story hath, I dunno if mme l does either. Your op reads more like it's about the fwr thing, so I guess that's what was being responded to.

MrGin · 04/07/2012 20:29

I think I read today MN get 25,000 posts a day.

And whenever I hear rumours of nucleur bunfights in 'baby names' or the doghouse forum, I'm like wtf

It's a lot to modorate, how many modoraters are there ?

I can see it's an awful lot of ground to cover.

I think universal justice prevails, eventually.

LeB0F · 04/07/2012 20:30

Shut up Unicorn, you Gandhist bastard.

Tee2072 · 04/07/2012 20:30

Hully! It's 'whiskers on kittens'! FFS...

Hullygully · 04/07/2012 20:30

oh good. it's all better. phew.

Hullygully · 04/07/2012 20:31

oh yes, soz.

i was disturbed

Tee2072 · 04/07/2012 20:31

And I still don't know who Unicorn is...
