Please can we just ban the following from MN? <unreasonableness alert>

The following words:

hubby
chavvy/chav
aunt flo
plasma screen TV in any context other than a geeky one.

Starring would be acceptable. You could make it opt in so the huns can get on with it and I don't have to cry "my eyes! my eyes!" every 40 minutes.

Threads about the following:

Benefit bashing Or at least put a warning on the thread titles like BIGOT in big red letters. Possibly flashing. I feel this could be one use of a ticker I could support.

Posters:

Who cannot read a thread properly due to being a lazy arse

Who are hard of thinking

Who are determined to take great offence at what others post regardless of the actual intent of the poster

Who don't say thank you when someone takes the time to give advice

I'm sure there is more. I'm sure others have more. Please MNHQ can you just take a metaphorical red pen to the whole lot?

"I just wee'd a bit" "A little bit of wee just came out"

ValarMorghulis · 24/01/2012 10:55

^They are the "I just think"-ers

Impervious to reason because they "just think"^

The thing is, they don't!

Hullygully · 24/01/2012 10:57

indeed, think=have a prejudice. But they say "think"

KatieMiddleton · 24/01/2012 11:09

They would be banned under my hard of thinking criteria in the op.

Anyone who uses "think" for "have a prejudice" or "am think as mince" should not be allowed to operate a computer unless supervised by a responsible adult.

Isn't that covered by [posters] Who are determined to take great offence at what others post regardless of the actual intent of the poster??

I try so hard!

Oh Oh Oh! Just thought of another one.

The insufferable "guess what Ocado substituted instead of tomato puree" or "guess what just went past my window" threads. Especially if they go on for pages. And absolutely if the answer is really dull e.g. "tomato ketchup".

DaenerysTargaryenButCallMeDany · 24/01/2012 17:04

Are you talking to me Mardy? Shock I was only joking, I didn't really feel picked on, you made me laugh Grin

I name changed earlier just for you

KatieMiddleton · 24/01/2012 17:05

YY. I thought of that earlier Mardy. Then got distracted. It's so annoying. Especially when the fucker goes out and doesn't come back for hours.

Which reminds me, posters who ask a question then feck off immediately. V annoying.

DaenerysTargaryenButCallMeDany · 24/01/2012 17:29

I'm supposed to be cooking while the baby's asleep, she's gonna wake up soon and I'll have to cook with her demanding my attention.

MardyBra · 24/01/2012 17:32

Phew! We're OK then.

If anyone sees me in the next hour, tell me to fuck the fuck off and come back later.

Look Mary . If it was a capital Z, then I would pronounce it Mary Zed. But it's not, so I assumed like all normal people that it was just one word.

I do not even attempt to pronounce Daenewhatsit in my head. I just think of it as "that odd name beginning with D", you know like when there is a character in a book you don't know how to pronounce. Grin
