Please can we just ban the following from MN? <unreasonableness alert>

The following words:

hubby
chavvy/chav
aunt flo
plasma screen TV in any context other than a geeky one.

Starring would be acceptable. You could make it opt in so the huns can get on with it and I don't have to cry "my eyes! my eyes!" every 40 minutes.

Threads about the following:

Benefit bashing Or at least put a warning on the thread titles like BIGOT in big red letters. Possibly flashing. I feel this could be one use of a ticker I could support.

Posters:

Who cannot read a thread properly due to being a lazy arse

Who are hard of thinking

Who are determined to take great offence at what others post regardless of the actual intent of the poster

Who don't say thank you when someone takes the time to give advice

I'm sure there is more. I'm sure others have more. Please MNHQ can you just take a metaphorical red pen to the whole lot?

Can we also please ban the non returning to a dramatic thread and the leaving of posters permanently wondering about the outcome.

KatieMiddleton · 23/01/2012 17:52

YY lifesalongsong. I think MNHQ should email then and demand them to come back with an update. Give them say, 2 weeks and then ban them if no return.

Or round them up and put them in the stocks.

YADNBU

BrianCoxHasScaryHair · 23/01/2012 17:56

KatieMiddleton for Queen!!!

Wink

Can we add 'posters who add a one-off nasty comment, purely to insult and then don't return to the thread as they are knob heads cowards'?

Seen a few of them recently.

Hmm
lifesalongsong · 23/01/2012 18:01

Good idea about the emails Katie, I have lots of threads on my watchlist atm that really need a further update Grin

KatieMiddleton · 23/01/2012 18:04

YY Brian you may add.

Ooh, people who namechange just to be vile. If you can't say it in your normal name do not say it at all.

YANBU but can we please add poo threads to the list, although saying that, all the frothing about benefits seem to have gotten rid of those, but come summer they'll back.

KatieMiddleton · 23/01/2012 18:05

YY. A big Poo alert. Like the benefit one but maybe Code Brown!! in a brown diamond in the thread title??

OP posts:
BrianCoxHasScaryHair · 23/01/2012 18:06

brown diamond in the thread title??

Grin
MardyBra · 23/01/2012 18:07

What about an automatic ban for textspeak and hunning.

grubbalo · 23/01/2012 18:08

poo threads? I seem to have managed to avoid those, thankfully...

MardyBra · 23/01/2012 18:08

And people who forget question marks.

KatieMiddleton · 23/01/2012 18:09

There should be starring for text speak and hunning and then a polite email from MNHQ asking the perpetrator to desist. They might be new and not have read any MN threads before.

A second offence needs banning mind.

OP posts:
KatieMiddleton · 23/01/2012 18:10

A gentle spanking for the forgetting of question marks (I forgot one earlier today).

KatieMiddleton · 23/01/2012 18:10

You haven't lived until you've seen a poo thread grubbalo. Sadly they have all been deleted I think.

We could have a ban on posters demanding an update on sensitive threads where the op doesn't want to come back of course.

That would be fine so long as RebeccaMumsnet made up a satisfactory ending instead.

OP posts:
MardyBra · 23/01/2012 18:13

We could ban posters who unreasonably dictate that they name is pronounced differently to how it is pronounced, maryzzzz.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/01/2012 18:17

Please please please ban grabby and entitled.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 23/01/2012 18:17

Could we ban poster names that are hard to spell so I have to keep scrolling up to copy them when I want to write them down?

I always forget before I get to the bottom of the page to my post and I have to keep going up and down, up and down.

Its very annoying.

Thank you.

MardyBra · 23/01/2012 18:19

Or posters who don't have an obvious abbreviation (like yours) MrsDV.
